So, after much gold lost I am a 300 enchanter. Cool.

So, after almost a week straight of farming those stupid spellbinders I have crusader. Cool.

The going price for crusader on my server is 100g. Not that cool. Two orbs run you 70-80g. LBS's run about 5g each. So if you were to buy the mats out of the AH it would cost you 100g. Basically you can't sell the stupid thing and take into account the time you spent raising the skill or farming the enchant when pricing it.

I had a guy want to buy it for 70g, I said nope. He offered to throw in the LBS's, I said okay 80. He said 75, I gave in and said ok.

So I get my 75g, port over to UC to get going on my Strat group and he sends me a whisper asking if I will do 100hp to chest since he's got the mats. I'm like sure, but you'll need to tip, especially since I have to port back to Org. He says no, he will find someone else to do it.

Does anyone else experience this? People just expecting you to do the enchant for free? I can understand doing them for free if you need to raise skill, but after you hit 300 I don't think its too much to ask for a measly tip.

Grrrr. >.<

Some people want things for free. This is true in all aspects of life. Do not give it to them if you do not want to. I never, ever enchant non-guildies/friends stuff for free. I once had aomenone after Icy Chill, he had no mats and expected it for free and was put out when I said it would be 30g. He didn't have the cash but "had to" have the enchant and got quite rude when I refused. So yes I have met loosers like yours as well.

This is commonplace. If someone can get the enchant from someone that can use it as a skillup point, then they'll get it free. I did a 100hp enchant free yesterday, but I got a skillup point out of it. The problem is, the market is too flooded with enchanters, to the point where the actual enchanting doesn't make any money. The only way to make money with enchanting IMO is through DEing, and you never need to actually level enchanting to do that. That's why I never plan on making another char with enchanting ever again.

I don't sell enchants, primarily because I can't be bothered to sit around SW/IF and spam on the trade channel for minimal profits. I have better things to do and better ways to make gold. My mage finally hit 300 yesterday, mostly through putting enchants on gear for myself and guildies. I am happy with this aspect of the skill and will continue to use it. Profits from disenchanting also make the skill worth the time and hassle required to level it up.

I don't know how well the strategy works, but I have seen lists of crafters on the realm forums. You might consider advertising there.

I have one character on a given server that has learned Enchanting (and it's usually not my primary one), for the sake of DEing worthless gear for the materials, which are *usually* worth more.

Realistically, few of the "Pick two" professions aside of the gathering variety can make a lot of money straight out of utilizing the profession...they're more useful for your own sake, based on your job.

In my personal experience and opinion, if you're aiming for professions to make money, then get a gathering duo (Herbalism or Mining+Skinning), or Herbalism + Alchemy, or just DEing (which never realistically requires you to level it past 75 if you don't want to), along with Fishing and Cooking.

Hah! I saw tons of cases like that, most of the people think that if they provide the mats they can get enchants for free.
