best money making profession for a rougeFollow

#1 Oct 04 2006 at 5:16 PM Rating: Decent
Hey, I'm not new to WoW, but I never bothered to look at what the best money making professions are, I just rolled a rouge and what would be the best profession for her? Thanks.

The best money-making profession for a rouge is "make-up artist". rouge is a cosmetic, and rouges are overpowdered.

Best way to make money - abridged.
Learn skinning and mining. Buy big bags. Sell everything that is not grey on the AH. Creat a level 5 alt character, park it near the AH, mail things to sell to it. Fish.

you wouldn't have to give the canned answer if people would stop asking the canned question.

i also use the method magret mentioned. my new chars always start with skinning or herb, just because i'll be killing lots of animals, walking around with lots of plants.

mining doesn't have the same effect because at low levels, some ore veins tend to be inside caves, which means if you're trying to fight through mobs at an aggroing level, you spend more time fighting than mining.

after some good levelling, i can easily change tradeskills, at which point i probably have collected a lot of beginning mats, and can skill up to 75 or 150 or 225 just as easily in one powersession than it took me to get to that character level.

I agree. Makeup artist is probably best. Although sitting as paint on a French canvas can be made surprisingly profitable over time.

Interestingly enough Bluegayle, I find the reverse to be true. I've also recently realised that a big factor is where you start.

I have started most of my characters in Dun Morogh, Orgrimmar or Mulgore. There, the ore is pretty abundant, and much of it can be found outside of caves. However, I found the Human starting area to have somewhat less plentiful veins about, and the Night Elves can't even start mining until they reach Auberdine!

On my server, however, mining is much more worthwhile than herbalism at low levels (at least until you get into the level 20-30 area), since copper ore gets ~50 silver for a stack of 10 ores, while Peacebloom & Silverleaf get less than 10 silver for a stack of 20. Of course, AH prices will vary from server to server, so herbalism may end up being worth it for some, and not worthwhile for others. Just make sure you compare prices!
