LW as moneymakerFollow

#1 Sep 28 2006 at 9:33 PM Rating: Decent
I'm trying to decide whether or not leatherworking would be a good idea for a Hunter who just wants to make some money fast. I'm considering leatherworking since I have high level skinning.

In tailoring, for instance, I make Mooncloth Robes for about 100g (or 4g if I only make one every 16th day ;P) and sell them for 200g, so big profit.

Is there a similar scheme in leatherworking that could make it as worthwhile for moneymaking, as tailoring can be?

Help would be very much apprieciated.

No. Very few LW patterns bring in the big cash. Around Darkmoon Faire time you can make some money selling Rugged armour kits. A couple of the elemental and tribal armours sell OK. If you can get the patterns for, and the mats for, the epic cloaks sell well. But none of it is big, easy profits.

Just mo of course.

glad your server buys your mooncloth robes. on my server, they're practically useless. by this time people just wait for the tier0 set that they can get for free.

for leather working, there is refined deeprock salt. not a big seller but when it does sell, it's a few extra gold.

hide of the wild is probably one of the best selling tribal recipes. but unfortunately, there are also a lot of people who get the mats themselves, then just want someone to press a button to combine them. you may get a tip but it may not be a big tip.

I've been selling the Volcanic set for anywhere from 25-40 Gold each. (25 for Leggings, 30 for Breastplate and 40 for Shoulders). The mats will cost you maybe 12-15 Gold but there are always players looking for this for runs into Molten Core where the Fire resistance is a huge bonus.

I've also been selling the Stormshroud set for a ton of money as well. It may not be the most profitable profession, but in 4 hours I turned 15 Gold into 125. I'm a Rogue so I went Elemental, if you're a Hunter you should def go Dragonscale. Leatherworking has its perks.
