My main is a 49 Hunter and I started leveling a Priest for a change up and to play with a co worker who doesn't play as much as me. On my main i am maxed on Herbalism/Alchemy. So, i wanted to do something different. I tried Engineering, but i realized that I would need to be an Engineer to use most of the items anyway.

My questions are:

1. Is it possible to reach 300 Tailoring at any level? I see that some items have level requirements but I am not sure if the level req. is to MAKE the item or to EQUIP the made item. I am assuming that like First Aid, I would have to be a certain level to get the NPC to train me in higher levels in order to make the items.

2. I am maxed at 150 Tailoring and ready to go in search of the next trainer but I am a lowly 16 priest. Is this at all feasible? Or should I just concentrate on leveling and making crap for profit for now?

thanks for any info

Production skills you need to be lvl 36 to hit the 300 mark
think it goes

1-9 75 max

10-19 150 max

20-30 225 max

36 can cap the current limit.

i might be a lil off on the lower number

Items that have trade skill reqs. listed in thier tool tip require that level of skill to wear.

its usually pretty close to the level required to make it if not the same.

Thanks for the info. guess i will put that rested EXP bonus to use when I have time to play.

i think it's a good thing to limit crafting levels to character levels. it keeps people from making crafting alts resulting in difficulty for main crafters to sell thier wares.

the skill lvl caps for production are

1-9 = 75
10-19 = 150
20-34 = 225
35+ =300

for tailoring you need to hit lvl 20 then you can train up to lvl 225

at lvl 35 you can go to tarren mills (for horde) and pay the 5g and get the cap raised to 300

Um, arent you not able to take any crafting skill before level 6? Not that its very important, but just to make sure its clear.

My priest alt is also a tailor. He hit his profession cap of 225 when he was level 20. I have a lot of cloth saved up so I’ve stopped playing my rogue and I’ve started leveling my priest. He’s level 27 now. Eight more levels and I’ll be able to take his tailoring to 300. The trouble I’m having is that soloing with my priest is a lot slower than it was with my rogue or my paladin. I’ll eventually get there, but it seems to be taking forever.
