Ok im on the dethecus server and for some reason i can not find moss agate, im on 150 engineering level 16 and no one answers me in gen chat or the only moss agate i see for sale is going for 4 gold with no buy price...i need it to continue on with my engineering...i dont care where it is i can get it..i am 140 mining so i can pretty much mine a lot...any input im horde and im a troll around Crossroad area.
I found Moss Agate while mining Tin, and my Mining is about 98. Hope that helps!

Moss agate is a relatively rare drop from higher level mobs and mining points. 40-50 silver tends to be the low end that you can pick it up for off the AH. On the plus side, at your level you don't need it for much. You use it to make standard scopes (which are difficult-to-impossible to sell) and the spy-glass (another one that just doesn't sell much).
My advice is to ignore recipes that require moss agate. Stick to explosives and anything that can make you money (deadly blunderbuss, mechanical squirrel box, and even flying tiger goggles if you're the only one on the market).

You will want to worry more about lvling for now than getting the agate because i believe you can not pass 150 with out being lvl 20 also your money would be better in vested for saving for the schematic for Advanced Scope (the +3 scope can not remeber exact name) it only requires gyro screwdriver a jade and critine and will lvl you for along time and usually brings in over 1g that was the easiest way for me to lvl

Bronze tube (easier and cheaper to mine)
(if you keep an eye on the AH you will be able to grab items at lower prices and make a good profit and skill up but if you just buy whats there i can usualy easily break even)

If you absolutely have to have Moss Agate and don't have mining as a profession, it is a pretty rare drop off of the ogres in Vul'Mold Ogre Mound in Darkshire (level 25-30). I've been farming the ogres for the last week in an attempt to earn and save money for my mount. I've received 3 Moss Agates in those 6 days... which breaks down to 1 Moss Agate every 2 days. On average I would kill anywhere from 75-100 ogres per day... so do the math. :)
