As i keep reading...im thinking about going mining/herbalism (herbalism will help my brother) instead of mining/armorsmith (ive already taken up armorsmith).

Would dropping Smithing for another profession be such a bad idea? this is what ive gathered so far

Downs:

Money drain
Better armor from drops
Waste of time (poor cost:benefit ratio)
Money drain...

Ups?

Please, im at level 41 and before i begin this damned quest id like to know if its even a good idea. Please and thank you.

I'm a 300 armorsmith and let me list the numerous benefits:

A) ....
B) um...
C) If your one of the few insane crazy people who can actually obtain all the end game plans theres a couple that are ok.. no where near worth the effort.

and the negatives:
A) High Cost
B) Dang near impossible to sell anything late game, and if you do its well below what the ingrediants are worth, FAR below.
C) Better Armor From Drops

I will stay armorsmith though. I am one of the few who thinks one day, though no time soon (Probably the Expansion), blizzard will actually get around to tweaking end game trade skilling, and I want to be a 300 Armorsmith when they do.
