#1 Feb 13 2005 at 8:31 AM Rating: Decent
Ok so i just finshed the Galvan Quest with the whole Mithril Order deal(what a pain!) and i want to continue my armorsmithing. I have already purchased the plans from Galvan for the gauntlets and the breastplate but there must be more. where do i go to become the blacksmith that everyone in my guild wants me to be?

After you have completed all the quests for Galvan the ancient in STV, you will have to travel to Gadgetzan in Tanaris and speak to Lighthammer. Lighthammer will give you 3 more quests involving about 120 mithril, about 6 truesilver and some heavy leather & mageweave cloth. After completing these quests you will have all the plans you need to complete the armorsmith quest given by the guy in Ironforge (which involves a further 108 mithril, about 20 true silver , 4 black pearls , a heart of fire and few aquamarine gems & heavy leather).

I think what he's asking is where are the armorsmith plans? I am in the same boat. I have totally finished this line of quests and am an armorsmith.

Once you are done, you can purchase the plans for Truesilver Gauntlet's and Truesilver Breastplate. But this is all the guy will train you on, it's all he has.

What he (and I came here loooking for) are asking is where are all the other "armorsmith specific" plan's? Are they dropped?

Is there other trainer's in the world that will sell us the plan's that are armorsmith specific?

I have totally completed this, I have done Stormwind, booty bay, Stranglethorn and gadgetzan and completed the items the dwarf in IF wanted me to make for him ...burnt hundred's of Mithrill bars that I will never see any money for...made scores of item's I'll never sell or wear to finish this quest... and now I have only 2 items more I can make? Unlikely.

We're just wanting to know where the advanced trainers are at ... or are the armorsmith plans dropped? I have went back to the NPC's in this quest and none of them will talk to me (I was hoping after I was a bona-fied armorsmith they'd become trainers for me ... but this isn't the case apparently).

Same issue/complaint/problem on the Horde side. Frustrated armorsmith (275sp). Plus who came up with the crazy mets for the Truesilver Breastplate. I dare you to make one and get 20% of your money back....

It does suck. All the plans are drop only. I personally used thorium bracers (easy to make) and radiant breastplate (heart of fire is a pain to get) to get to 300. Right now the only piece of armor that someone wants from me is Dark Iron plate, which requires 160 dark iron ore (GOOD LUCK getting that from BRD). Basically my advice is, if you haven't picked armorsmith yet - do not. I am 300 BSing and the only things I am making are mithrill shield spikes and mithril spurs. That's it. Should have gone weaponsmith...

Someone in my guild got to 300 with weapon smith...and soon after dropped it and picked up enchanting, he pretty much said it was useless as you get better weps from drops....I think the same could be said of armor...I'd much rather have the paladin armor set than anything I could make with my armorsmithing.....and I'm in the midst of this quest, and seriously considering dropping it and becoming an engineer or alchemist.

hehe....just like eq, break your buns to Master a tradeskill and you turn around and see better items being camped for the drops out there. so lame that you toil all the way to the top of your profession to realize the items you can make are crappy.
