Where can I get light hide?Follow

The Level of the beast corresponds directly with the type of type of Hide received when skinning.

I.E. Regardless of skinning skill, a level 1 rabbit will only provide leather scraps.


The higher the level the better the type of leather received. Keep skinning eventually; you'll only get light and sometime medium. And that is how it continues.

are you sure? just from starting the skinning at lvl 1, i got this item and leather scraps.

since the leather is supposed to be based on the level of the monster too (better leather from higher level animals), you might try going back to the newbie zones, in case you're not there.

i get many light hides from the beasts that are lvl 15 and less. it may change at some point to where like some lvl xx beast more frequently gives light hides just like rabbits always give scraps, like what tycon and soulfire says.

I got some off the birds, and zebras by crossroad.

Hides will drop off any animal that drops leather. It seems to be more of a random drop then it is one specific mob. Most of the time I get leather off mobs, but once every 10 kills or so Ill get a hide. Its just one of those drops that is less then others. Keep killing things that drop light/medium leather and eventually you will stock up on hides as well.
