About how much would you spend to take tailoring from level 1 - 250, assuming you buy everything from AH and vendors, no farming?
I've thought about this and using preliminary info I've gathered, I'd say your cost (based on Elune prices) would be somewhere between 200 and 380 gold. If you camp the AH for cheap materials, your cost would be closer to 200. Though once you start on Mageweave, all bets are off. :(

on Sargeras I took mine fomr 1 to 175 with about 5g, then you get silk and what not, it gets hard. mine is at 275 right now I believe. mageweave is 1.5g a stacka nd that makes 4 bolts and all the mageweave things take atleast 2 or 3. so thats like 2g per 3 points past 175, ouch.
Let's not forget that if you go through and buy up all the supplies at once, prices are going to go up. Add in the variations between server prices and the answer is.... we dunno. :)
Not sure about other servers, but at the moment on Elune there's barely any wool in the AH and the price of a stack for the one that is up for sale is about twice as much as for a stack of silk.
It might be due to the influx of new players taking up tailoring so who knows how long it will last. This morning there was barely 10 stacks up for sale so it would be hard to believe that someone is buying it to resell. When I was still working with wool, I'd pay 20s a stack, now if I sell some, I price them at 25-30s and they sell in minutes.
At this rate, I'm considering buying up dozens of stacks of silk at the current price and re-selling them at double what I paid when that new bunch of people reach silk level =)
