Blacksmithing concerning KeysFollow

#1 Jan 05 2005 at 7:43 AM Rating: Decent
I know I can make keys in my Blacksmithing.

1. Can I unlock Chests with keys, even though I am a Warrior?

2. If I use a key and it doesn't work, can I re-use it? Examples: If I use a key that is too weak for the type of lock, then does the key disappear?

3. If I use the key and it works does it disappear (one use per key)? Kinda the same as #2.

1. Not sure about chests, i know you can lock boxes so i think you can, not sure though

2. you dont lose it if it doesnt work

3. If it works, you lose it, but on the other hand you get 2 keys per piece of ore you use, not a bad ratio

Seems reasonable that the blacksmithers can picklock the chests, since they can open lockboxes with keys, and keys dont disappear after a failed attempt to open, only after u succeed!

You can also open Instance doors like the armory and cathedral in SM, and the back door in Gnomeragan(not sure on spelling) with blacksmith keys just like they can be picked by rogues. (BTW all the doors mentioned take truesilver keys so it costs you a lot less if you find the proper ones but in a pinch can be a really nice way to get in)

Hope this helps,
