Hello all. Were a group of new players, well, group may be too strong a word - lets see there's me and my husband and my friend and my brother - so four. Anyhow, I don't know why, but we managed to put off FFXI for long enough so we jumped in, and talked my brother and friend into playing (leaving LOTR and CoV respectively) and now we're addicted!
We love to meet new people and are always ready to help out. We're still pretty "new" tho I wouldn't call us noobs - I'm kinda a strict taskmaster and I'm a pretty tough leader - we are almost all exmilitary, so we respect CoC and act accordingly. We also use a Ventrilio Server and have started a linkshell and a website is forthcoming.
Actually it kind of feels like coming to the party late - but I'm an old raver-chick, so I already know what thats like, I catch-up quick? It helps that the darn game is like CRACK! Seriously, my husband and I are taking our vacation at home, in-game as much as possible - seriously, we're planning on going for broke!

My LS did a little house cleaning as well! We removed alot of "Fail", so far we have had a great improvement in productivity, even though we are working with 35% less people!
But too many good ppl left for quit and now it's hard determining which new people are good and which are emo/fail leftovers from previous failed LS's.
I would name some names, but I abstain!
Maybe we should start a "these people failed terribly or stole" thread! (Not sure if Alla admins would consider this slander)
Yeah, we got rid of a lot of garbage. It's nice that there's never any emo in the ls now.
What's even mor funny, is that immediately after we got rid of the garbage, all the drops they were up for dropped.
It's cool though, they made a shell that can kill Genbu. They were so excited they spammed us with tells that they got Z.mitts.

Heh, that's pretty lame tbh, the spamming after our drops but oh well.
I didn't mind the shell but the last couple weeks before I quit it became really unorganized which pissed me off. No site updates in over a week, people becoming worse at showing up on time, attitudes of many members (including ones that did quit), etc.

I didn't update because I didn't have access to my laptop for the week, and now that amps @#%^ parade is gone there's no whining, and events go on on time.

I am not an officer in my ls, but I have been with them for quite some time and the LS has been very successful. However I did notice a trend that ppl became upset when the leader would afk for a week, (normally a very bad thing), but the officers made up for it.
But what almost killed the LS was bad players and EMO behavior. Nit picking over items can be easily solved, have a conistent point system and if you feel a need to change, make sure the majority of the members agree.
However, I would be game for having a endgame forum for remora. the purpose of this would be for someone to give the "scoop" on a player if they change LS or are kicked because they be retarded.........

That would be lollovepandas. Basically, if you're in a linkshell with Goth, Taiger, or Shaj, you either suck too bad to get a real one or you enjoy being around sh*tty people.

My lolGoth story is pretty amusing actually- in that wtf... kind of way but anyway-
So, I'm soloing Campaign one night in Junger as RDM/drk and I get a random blind party invite from him out of the blue. I didn't have a /seacom or flag up at the time so I did what I normally do whenever I get a blind invite- I ignored it and continued doing my dd RDM thing.
Well, for the rest of the night whatever Campaign I ended up going too- within about a minute of my arrival lo and behold there'd be Goth following me around, attacking the mobs I was fighting- and waking up any I'd slept to keep them out of my hair.
I didn't really notice it until like the 5th consecutive battle that I'd somehow attracted a stalker and mentioned it in /l and asked if anyone knew him. One of my linkshell mates sent him a /t asking why he was following me around like a lost puppy. His response? Because I didn't Refresh him.
Taiger was a member of the Sea ls a friend and I recently joined after our last shell imploded. My first Limbus run with him I was in the tank party: whm, pld, nin, lolnin, me and a blu. I have to admit, I didn't pay much attention to him- he wasn't tanking anything or taking any damage- until he started spamming "Tanks need haste" because he'd gotten hit with a Slow that overwrote haste and the WHM hadn't gotten around to Erasing it from him yet.
Even after that he kept /p spamming that like it was a battle cry which of course made me react in pretty much the same way I used to whenever I exp'd with Bio spamming idiot BLMs- I just "forgot" to haste, cure, buff him for the rest of the run.
Oops.
Can't say I've been too impressed with him since then either- he seems to think all our DDs should be coming /thf to normal Temenos/Appyllon runs to "help with hate." Of course, since the last run he bothered to show up to he spent most of it dead I don't think that really helped him too much...

It's funny, we have been keeping to our Duo/Trio Quartet static especially so we don't /fail when we do get in full parties and join the right LS's - meaning getting our chit together and knowing our jobs.
But, I'm still looking for some info...
Am I wrong in training my tank to provoke every 30 seconds? He will be going PLD after taking WAR to 37
As RDM, after unloading the appropriate series of Enfeebs and a DoT I rest, while watching members HP and stand up to heal when required (as Im doing double duty), but I don't hit the monster - even though with the En~ spells and my decent sword skill, Im not bad with it soloing - as I understand it, I'm going to be getting more and more busy as I get up higher in level, so practicing the habit of resting whenever I'm not doing anything else, and putting my sword away (apparently forever) is what to do. Is that right? Oh, I will also stand and re-apply some enfeebs if the wear, but not all of them - I'll reapply silence (like wallpaper I will) and slow.
I won't let the BLM spam nukes, I make him bracket the tank's Provokes with appropriate nukes (highest lvl/affinity first, then next highest) then rest for the next provoke - this gives him about 25 seconds to rest before his next double nuke. Is this too restrictive? or too much hate? So far the hardest things were going after are in Buburimu so, it's not like were fighting Kirin or anything, but it hasn't drawn hate...
Right now, until we all get our subjob quest finished we are all single jobbed - I've got two WAR's. I feed one (and train/practice) as Tank, with shield/axe and the other as Puller/DD w G.axe - Puller will eventually go BRD/??? He thinks RNG, Im not sure that's a viable combo since subjobs are kinda gimped (again from what I've read, not that i've actually GOT one - lame lame lame, I know, meh, wanna come help?). I'm not sure, but /SCH could be pretty good. Idea's?

No, for your level currently and for quite awhile yet you'll be doing what you've pretty much already started doing. For your BLM- if he's not drawing (too) much hate with his nukes then he's doing fine lol. Most mobs do have elemental weaknesses so he might want to take that into consideration when nuking if he's not simply MBing.
For SC+MBs, you can do that on any mob. For what SCs you can do there are quite a few Skillchain Charts available that lay it all out nice and simple. After ~55 that will change since most ToAU exp parties don't SC in favor of simply spamming weaponskills as soon as they gain the TP for it.
RDMs at your level are fairly good DDs but unfortunately as you level you'll find your casting load getting heavier as your melee damage falls further and further behind the other DDs which is why most RDMs in parties tend to remain backline their entire careers. Sounds like you have the basic hang of RDMism in parties but feel free to check out the RDM forum here for more advice/tips or to read up on the FAQ/RDM 101v2.0.

On a side note, I accidentally mt'd that watching them convinced me god has a wicked sense of humor. It was all the more true after they nearly had a full wipe to despot. It panzerfausted their BLMs, lolTaiger, lolGoth, their SAM, the BRD, a WHM, and would have wiped them if they didn't have DoTs on it and RR.
