Well, I already have my copy of Wow reserved. Mostly because FF was my first MMORPG so I'm just curious to get my hands on another to compare. Just from the things I've read though I think I'm gonna be very disappointed. Following Conluceo's form of comparing here's a couple of pros and cons I have in my mind:
WoW
Pro - No more spending an hour and a half looking for/putting together a pty only to kill three mobs and have someone to say, "Sry I have to go." >.<
Pro - No more countless hours spent farming, fishing, crafting, etc. to get enough gil to just support my job. Evidently equip. is supposed to be quite a bit easier to come by in WoW.
Pro - It's Blizzard ^.^ Need I say more?
Con - In my mind, the graphics in WoW are really kinda poor compared to FF. Don't get me wrong, I definatly believe that gameplay overrides graphics anyday (I still love to go back and play the original Legend of Zelda occasionally may not be the prettiest game out there but it's still damn fun). However, as much time as you spend on MMORPG's having it be nice to look at makes it a little more soothing.
Con - One character one job. When you create your character you pick your job and that's it. Hope ya like it >.<
Con - Only certain jobs for certain races. Bleh is all I can say about that.
Ok, enough WoW bashing. I think it's obvious that some of my pros and cons can be reversed to be applied to FF so I'll try not to repeat myself :p
FF
Pro - I've been playing FF since the original, so it's fun to see all these mobs and stuff in this form. I went back and played the original again and it was hard to not sit there and imagine the battles playing out like the do in FFXI. I guess I'm just trying to say that there's more of a history to FF than WoW.
Pro - I know this goes against what I said earlier but FF does force you to interact with others. While the finding of pty's does suck I know I never would have met some of the great ppl I have were it not for being forced into it. I just sometimes wish that the ability to solo or play in a pty of 3 or 4 was available.
Con - The economy in this game is horrible. I don't think I need to explain this one to anyone who plays this game XD
Con - The imbalance between PCs and mobs is ridiculous. Mob spells have greater range, they can hit (melee attacks) you from much further out than you can hit them. One thing that bothers me more than any other is the fact that they aren't subject to environmental restictions, meaning that if I stand on top of a cliff and cast on a mob it can just pop up the side of the cliff and attack me. Total BS in my opinion seeing as how the reverse isn't even close to true.
Well there's just a few, I want to leave something for others to say XD I am very interested to see what others have to say as well.
