One time in Crawler's Nest my parties' theif did SATA off me. He laughed about it, I almost died. Apparently he thought it was very funny and did it to the black mage as well. I left that party pretty quickly. (*o.O)

Oh, well, I didn't do it to be a brat. I was leveling with Nyopo, Hershai, Mistresskat, Bakkasan, and Cactusapo, and since I didn't have a trick buddy (Hersh and I were sharing tanking duties), Cactus insisted I trick off him. I said no, no, no, but he was all, I'm blinky! Go ahead.
So I did. I tricked off the little Taru red mage, and it worked great! But I didn't do it as aggressively or as often as I would have with a regular tank. Besides, we were kicking enough ass as it was. ^^

Actually, RDM can make wonderful trick buddies if you have a good PLD ^^
See, tricking onto a DRK or someone who has a lot of hate anyway means the PLD is more likely to lose hate, as the SATA adds to what the buddy has built up anyway. When using a RDM, they have a pretty low amount of hate built up, so the mob rarely even looks away.
At least, that's what happened in my CN party with a RDM trick buddy. Poor guy was scared witless the first time our THF did it, but he got used to it when he never took more than one hit (and that was only from particluarly powerful - i.e 400+ - SATA Viper Bites).
