I've been thinking about creating a casual, endgame linkshell. What is that exactly you ask?

A linkshell designed for level 75's to work together at anything that comes to mind with the people available. I don't have time to work for a huge endgame LS dedicated to a strict schedule. I work 3 day, 3 nights 12 hour shifts, then I can play with 6 days off.

This LS will have no set schedule. Why? Because of what I said above. If people like me have a life and do it everyday, you won't have enough people on some given days to do what you planned.

So if you have 10 people on, bored out of your skull, let's jump in and do sky! Sea! Won't be able to do everything but at least get some gear. Hell if we get some ToDs, people can go to them when available and not worry about being booted if you don't make it to 100% of the runs.

Drops would be designated by me, or any senior members. This doesn't stop people within the LS to go do things without the leaders and decide for themselves!

Just ideas. If this sounds not too bad, let me know I'll get this started. Do you think it'd work?

- As a rule you will find that people will not do things without leadership. Leadership is expected to know how something works, and for the most part players just do as they are told. Those players who often stand in for leaders often become leader's overtime. So you now your back to leadership calling drops and the system as a whole is subject to people crying "favoritism".

- A points system is a decent solution, but hard on LS leaders to keep track, it also makes things less causal.

- You can do the free lot approach, if you have a job that can use the armor and you want it, lot it. Let lady luck figure out how things work. As long as you have good honest people, the system works.

- This limits you to a social / friend LS. That’s perfectly fine, but you seemed to want more random event ls. You need set times so you make sure you have the correct jobs / people to do an event. Otherwise you will end up with a lot of aborted events and frustrated people.

I am personally a huge fan of event LS's. I am burned out on the idea of the HNM LS grind, the EXP grind, and the time requirements some LS's require. When you get it going post the name, I want to hear about it.

Anything is possible with a little elbow grease, and a lot of determination. If you feel strongly about it, go for it! The worst that can happen is that it doesn't work out. And if it does... :)

Yeah... it's because I can't make it to 50$% of events, so that screws me for any serious LS. I could do a set schedule if I had trusted officers that could do that for me when I'm gone.

I do have that kind of experience. I have adaberk, ridill, damatica, many sets of AF2 (WAR MNK RDM NIN..) I've done everything. Just not 7 days 6-12 hours like I used to.

I don't have that because I've been gone over a year.

I like the feedback so far, it's been good :) thank you

If you do start it up I'm in. I have the same problem as you in that I have a crazy work schedule and I can't dedicate a particular day week to week for let's say sky, znm, etc.

I would like to do at least a little endgame activity, but have been limited due to my work. As I said, you start it, I'd be interested.

Also, this the Vastan from Corleown?

Rocklobster is exactly the kind of LS I've been looking for for a year. I work terrible hours, and sometimes can't get online until 10 or 11pm. When I do log on, there is nearly always someone in the shell who will help with something, or who is doing an nm or a bcnm that invites me to go along.

Events are planned weekly or sometimes more often, just depending on what people want/need. You can go if you want to or go if you can.

But NEVER has anyone reprimanded me for not attending something or fussed at me about the hours I'm on.

I simply LOVE Rocklobster :)
