Survivalist, the Modern ManFollow

Ok, this is an OOT thingy, but it's something I was thinking about tonight, personally I blame the booze. And probably the hot waitress who was bringing it to me. I lovez t3h redheads, they love me too, I tip well. They also think it's "cute" when I write my number on a napkin. Apparently they think I'm joking, but the more serious I try to be the harder they laugh.

I guess it's because they get all these drunks that they fail to see us more respectable, social drinkers.

Now to the topic at hand. Sexism. Mainly, women thinking men are sexist pigs. That we only have one thing on our mind, think with our crotch, blah blah blah.

Simple, it's evolutionary. Men are survivalists, not sexists. The most simple way to describe it, if we weren't like this, the human race would have died out long ago.

Primieval men were the hunter/gatherers. They went out in search of food, women stayed at the cave to tend to the young ones. Times have changed, the modern working woman often "brings home the bacon" but men are stubborn, no small secret. We prefer "the old ways".

But there's more to just survival than food. Mating. Let's go off on a bunny trail for a second.

I'm not a religious man by any means, but I have studied various religions. One thing I've found, with no small hilarity I might add, is that the more extreme a condition a tribe or nation lived, the more gods of fertility they had. In other words, the more harsh the climate, the more gods of sex. Why?

Simple really, people die in extreme hot and cold, the more people there are, the more likely a suffiecent number of them will reach adulthood and continue mating. Primitive humans believed that prayer to these fertilty gods and goddesses would result in favorable results, ie, many kids, and not just any child, but ones hearty enought to withstand the enviroment and procreate the next generation.

Hence, men's desire to "get it on".

Now that we've come across reasons for men being obsessed about sex, let's look at the reasons why most men ogle the good looking ones, and ignore the ugly friends.

A suitable mate. Remember, this is deep rooted genetics at work here. Men only want a woman(s) who are able to produce capable offspring. You know what that means right? The deformed ugly one has got to go. Survival of the fittest, it's natures way. I mean really, what is bucktoothed, flat-footed, Peggy Sue with the lazy eye compared to the tall, blonde voluptous Nikki?

I'm sure that Peg's got a great personality, and I've heard all those lines like how beauty is only skin deep, nothing lasts forever.......blah blah blah

I'm living in the here and now. Don't mess with my genetics!

Allow me to continue on in this regard. Ever heard the expression "Learn to love"? Of course you have. But it's never been said to "Learn to lust". Why? It's obvious, Lust is the hot chick, love is the ugly friend. Love is second best people. Nobody taught me to lust, believe you me, I came by it naturally.

But there's more to it than just that. Remember, genetics here. Flaws in DNA become more apparent as offspring is reproduced. Sure, maybe one or both parents have a dormant gene, but the more a less suitable candidate are select, the more likely, and with more likelihood that the flaw will surface, and with more....flawedness. IT'S A WORD!

So, in closing, men are not sexists, but survivalists. We only want what's best for the human race, and our future.
