Returning? Linkshell? eek?Follow

sooo yeah. I'm returning to FFXI and Ragnarok after... oh... almost 5 years away. Yes, long time gone, but I've never stopped missing this game. Unfortunately, I stopped -around- level 30BLM/25WHM and it's been so long I'm a bit sketchy on remembering how to play effectively. reading forum threads helps a lil bit... but only a lil bit.

But anyways! I look around when I'm on and see everyone running around with their 75/37s and a smattering of mules and wonder just how I will fit back in. I do know that saying it was tricky to solo was an understatement of its difficulty... So how in the world am I supposed to resume leveling and partying and enjoying when everyone's so far past and oblivious to my little presence? And beyond that, with meager time available for play (full-time student with hefty homework and long commutes)?

Beyond that bit of advice, if you got any for being barely mid-level in an endgame world (I'm sure this would be true of any server)... I'm in the market for a linkshell. Ideally, this shell would include folks who:
-can help a returning player out with moral support and partying and whatnot
-won't forget about me if I'm gone for a few days
-willing to level a mid- or no-level job with me (I want to try some of the advanced jobs someday...)
-may be interested in things that are relevant to my lifestyle, that is, geeky things like the sciences, and guitar
-are friendly and welcoming and all that warm fuzzy stuff.

Realistically, the only requirements are:
-people!
-...Who won't kick me out for not being very active!

Aaaand... whatever else.
