hi everybody~~ im a newbie to the game and after i heard about the linkshell system i got reallllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllly exicted :P
cause well... it' sooo very different then the guild/clan system from other MMOs, it makes me to want to collect every linkshell in the server :3 and meet many many MANY people ^^. i have to start off somewhere ^^;; but it' really hard since i just started 3 days ago :P, i hardly know anyone in the game >.< and no one talks in chat at all T_T which makes me kind sad :(
so is there any linkshell group that are currrently accepting new/newbie members??
please let me know!! im really looking forward to it :D

HI Kinome, welcome to FFXI.
There are many Linkshells's out there who accept new players, just make sure to try and find one that has members from a similar time zone to you, so that you dont end up online alone whilst the rest of the LS is sleeping, im not saying dont play with people from other timezones, cause thats what MMORPG's are about, just make sure you have people to talk to in your linkshell when you are online.
On the note of the POL email account you get given, I personaly dont know anyone who uses it, as most communications are sent ingame or via MSN / windows live meessenger.
If you need any help starting out in the game, or just wanna ask some questions give my ingame character a /tell, if im free I would be glad to help you settle into the game.

guess i'll take a look at the linkshell listing thread for now~~
about the POL email :P i just thought it would be a really nice way to organize hunts with friends from the same linkshell or people with differnt linkshell (if that works :P) but i guess msn works ^^;;

anyways >.< i been reading the LS Thread.... and SIGH........................... soooo many good LS, wants to join all hehe, dont know which to pick :O
so i was wondering if anyone here can offer a recommendation to me :P since i have no first hand experience, and all the LS seems soooooooooo very temping, i thought asking more experienced player about a LS group would be much better then just randomly picking a LS :P
anyways my time zone is hmmmmm EST-5:00 Canada/U.S time
and i play most of the time in the morning around 07:00 till 12:00, and plays again from 20:00 till 23:00 (if i get the chance :P)
if anyone is in or knows any LS that matches with my time zone/ schedule and allows a newbie like me join ^^;; please let me know ^^ and thanks~~~

You seem like a decent person from your posts here, I can give you a linkpearl to a social LS i am a sackholder for if you like.
the rules are simple enough;
1, treat people with the same attitude you yourself expect to recieve
2, keep the reputation of the LS, and the people who are part of the LS in mind when interacting with other people.
3, sense of humour is required, easily offended people beware ^^
4, seriously intended abuse of any kind is not tolerated, including race, religion, sexual orientation and similar - any instance of this will result in removal from the LS
5, respect your fellow players, both in the LS and other you meet in game.
