Aright, here's what's up:

As any one of my friends/linskehllk members could tell you - I'm not a lucky one when it comes to computers. For reasons unkown, my old network port in my motherboard went kaput. We buy a new comp. First thing I do is reinstall FFXI...lo and behold, it works!^_^ Happy days!

But whats this? I log in and my character( Blagoce )'s graphics, as in parts of his body are missing. Arms, torso, head, legs and feet, and gaxe are all there but nothing else. I log in and see that everyone else is in this state as well. I;m weirded out but walk into the Lower Jueno AH area nonetheless. I freeze. Right there. I end up DCing and log bakc in to the same thing. DC again, and then make it to the safety of my MH and stay there.

Now, people were either missing pieces, or were there but certain parts were blue and black with fuzzy static-like bits on them.

I don't know what's wrong with it. It shouldn't be my graphics card, an NVIDIA GeForce MX4000 PCI card newly bought and running everything else smoothly, but I dont' know what do ; ;. I can't get on without uber lag so there's obviously no point in trying to do anything in my present state.

{Please} {Help me out!}

Hm... I don't know if this will work but maybe you need to update your graphics card? It might be new but it probably couldn't hurt downloading an update.

Try playing with your FFXI settings on the config menu. Sometimes that makes a HUGE difference.

Try downloading the latest drivers from nvidia, if there is still an issue possibly try using the omega drivers http://www.omegadrivers.net/ I'm thinking if you installed ffxi your directx shouldn't be an issue but just in case, there is an easy way to test. go to your "run" prompt and type in dxdiag then run the video tests.

It could also be that your DAT files are corrupted...

That'd be bad, 'cause it means you gotta reinstall FFXI.

Make sure you run Disk Cleanup and Defrag on your hard disk before you do that though (that may even fix the problem).

But that's the thing >_>

I reinstalled FFXI when I got my new computer. When I played it, it was all freaky like that.
