So...Bastok took over the world again?Follow

Just wondering, I'm completely in the dark as to how Bastok's conquest results are doing so...exceptionally well. This is the second time in three conquest weeks where Sandy and Windy have been dominated to the point where we become allies.
Anyone know what's up? Not that I'm complaining, whatever Bastok has done, it's surely impressive. These are just a few things I think may be factoring into it:

Lots of people changing their home nation to Bastok for <insert reason>.
A Bastokian conquest Linkshell that meets up every week to run Sandy and Windy out of areas.

I can't think of anything else. Well, there's always the possibility that San d'Orians and Windurstians are just dying a whole ton in parties, and Bastokians are...not?

Granted, I could just be paranoid and Bastok really isn't doing anything special. But if anyone has any information that might explain how there are like six regions not under Bastokian control, it'd be really helpful.

Thanks in advance for your time.

I myself am not quite sure either and I'm a Bastokan. I am however pleased at Bastok's conquest status. Maybe we are winning ballistas?

I cannot really confirm this as the last two(my first two) ballista matches I was in ended with us losing. Just in case anyone was wondering a SAM/RNG with a speedbow can do real good in a 40 cap.

I don't think I've ever seen Bastok ally with one of the other countries except once. Maybe we just have a higher number of players in our country? Yeah, that is what I would say is contributing to our success, sheer number of players.

My thought on the multitude off new players starting of in Bastok is this:

Smaller city area means less time wasted walking about, and our city is MUCH easier to navigate through. Not to mention we have the alchemist and goldsmith guilds which aren't located anywhere else in all Vana'diel.

Goldsmithing also has a store in Mhura. It's not much, but a good place to check out for Colored Rocks.

As for Ballista, I do not believe if that game has an affect on conquest results, but from what I remember on Saturday, Beastmen where expected to take over a few places, not to mention I've noticed a number of Beastmen Banners around, so there was much going on the Ex. Troopers deal.

Bastok is #1 again ._. And I just got rank 10 windy too. If this keeps up, us Windurstians will never be able to buy our rank 10 CP items, and it's all thanks to those meddling Humes and their stupid Galka! (scooby doo refrence)

Well, after seeing the damage firsthand...Windurst has ONE region under control. And yes, it's the ONE region every nation is almost guarenteed not to lose under normal circumstances.
San d'Oria is doing a bit better than Windurst, but Bastok truely has taken over the world.

And on a side-note, I don't think Ballista influences Conquest at all. Thank you all for your input.

Also, the last few weeks, everytime I pass an Outpost, I see a Bastok Resident, offering to let me set my HP for Gil :p

Being the Odd-Ball Sandy / Elvaan, almost everyone I Run into is a Batok or Windy Player. I Juggled changing Alliegance, but I'm too lazy to work back up Rank 6 Again, and would rather avoid the 'My Rank is Higher then yours, I'm L0rd' XP PT's, where Skillchains become Fantasy.

But yes, Bastok is kicking *** and Taking names. Also, If death drops your Region's Status, maybe Sandy D-warps too much ;) (Guilty)

well you can relax, cause this go around Basty is last ; ;, and Windy is first some damn how. As a Bastoker myself, im very proud of the fact we took the world twice, and im hoping next go around we take it back :) i know ill have signet on all the time to help make that happen. Bastok has a lot going for it, guild, quests that are interesting, and Galkas!

The JP really get involved in conquest related stuff. I always see them in ballista and garrison in their peak times.

I'm bastokan so no complaints here... although I think the "united" feature for the underdogs is too much of a handicap to allow the lower nations to make a come back.

With this system you'll never see Bastok dominating the world 2 weeks in a row.
