hello! i used to play on carbuncle with a few of my friends and im planning on coming back. what i have been told with some of the people ive kept in touch with was that many of the server have no mid or low end player bases anymore... so it would be hard for me to level... how is it? and how is this server? how is the economy- stuff like that.

thanks!

Sure, there's plenty of low to mid level players.
But, apparently, by reading other threads, there's a power-leveler epidemic in areas such as Valkurm Dunes. I have yet to notice it, but I know they are out there. =P

The server(s) physically is(are) fine, they dust it off, keep it clean. All good.

The economy? In a word? Bad. In a few more words? Bad, but getting better, and than worse, and than better, etc.
Sure, something that you want to buy is going to cost 1.5x as much, but like someone else said, and I thought this was an excellent point, those earth crystals are going for 1k gil now, instead of that 400 gil.

Welcome back to FFXI!

Sorry but dont listen to what he said. There is not a good player base, dont know what server hes on.

My blm has been stuck at around lvl 50 for 2 months, because there are no tanks in this lvl range. In fact for a month I would look and averaged about 7-9 tanks from lvl 45-55 or so.

Sorry but leveling a low level job is getting next to impossible after lvl 40.

Dont listen to that lol

I took my RNG from 30-57 in less than 2 weeks and have lv'd my WHM 57-60 in the last week. (all with tanks lol) Even had a PLD tank with a NIN DD last night.

Come back you'll be fine :) But then again this is all relative. To me I usually dont have too much trouble gettng pts but others might think they'll never pt again... So just comeback and see for yourself :)

For Shuffles...
I never see you LFP... what time do you usually seek? Never once saw you LFP when I was lv'n my rng... If I would of known I could of invited you :)

I agree there are some lowbie levels that are lacking in the tank department, but then you have to get creative. If there isn't a pld or nin seeking pre 37, invite 2 war/nin's and have them alternate tank when utsusemi is down. There are quite a few options here with non-traditional parties that if you really really want to xp and have fun, you can find the people to do so.

You can always duo xp at pretty much any level if you have a any type of tanking sort and a mage type. AND, its kinda fun. You learn a lot about the game when you are duoing EMs and VTs. One of the most fun pts I have been in is with my WHM duoing with my NIN friend. We actually got up to 4k/hr, and I learned hexa strike. lol
