What is the matter with people lately?Follow

Okay, I've noticed recently that there have been some real a$$holes running around. There have been /shout arguements in the Dunes everytime I've gone upstairs to watch my husband play. (I have been avoiding the dunes with my lvl 13/6 pld/war because of majority of what I've seen.) There have been lvl 23-30 up on top of Vomp hill stealing kills from the lower levels, then wanting to cuss you out when you point out that if they want to farm they should go elsewhere and let the lower levels get some exp instead of hogging up everything for themselves. The other day some level 30 elvaan war I can't remember the name, it began with an A, but either way, I was leveling up war so I could sub it with pld and was in the middle of fighting a sheep when I got aggroed by a gob. I was only level 8 at the time, and this guy just stood there watching as I nearly got my a$$ handed to me by a goblin thug, and the sheep. If I hadn't of used my two hour I would have been laying face down in the dirt, but none the less, I know the guy wasn't afk because he was running past, then stopped to watch me nearly get beat. Then, there was a level 23 Galka war named Arbin I believe, who saw me chasing after a goblin thug with my sword out, waiting the whole 3 sec for my voke, when the jerk jumps in front of me and just kills it in one hit.

There have been high leveled whm that have just walked past people that I know either from my ls, or just friends I have in the game who are laying face down in the dirt and just weep in front of them and walk away. There have been people pointing and laughing when a new player is running towards the zone with a train of 5-10 gobs behind them, and not doing anything to help. Honestly, I'm beginning to consider switching worlds because of some of the things that I have seen. If I could convince my husband to switch I would in a heartbeat, but since he refuses, I'm stuck. I'm just hoping that things improve, either that or some of the jerks that have been plaguing Phoenix run off to find some other world to harass. I love playing FFXI, but from the behavior of a few, the game is becoming less and less fun.

I hated that when I was a lower lvl, I no longer goto Bastok and lvl up my low lvls cause of that so I goto Windy and lvl there. Its alot easier and you wont get a**holes like that in East Saru or West Saru

Levels 10-15 shouldn't be in the dunes anyway in my opinion. I'm from Windy and would much rather level in Shakrami 10-15 and Buburimu 15-20. But most people seem to be starting in Sandy or Bastok these days, and are too lazy to take the boat the other way. I'm working on bard in my spare game time (level 12 atm), so if you want to get away from it all, send me a /tell and we'll head over to the Maze.

My problem with the dunes is some noob dies, goes to hp, and disbands (and if he's the party leader, disbands the entire party). Levelling my bard in the dunes, I've seen this happen more than once, and I've only gotten 2 levels there. Not a good way to make any friends.

I think I'd rather put up with some higher levels (who probably aren't that high at all, 25-30 MAYBE, just higher than the dunes). I'm used to fighting for pulls with people the same level as me. I'm sure my low level jobs can compete no matter what level they are.

The whole WHM thing really gets me too. If you got raise, and you're walking by someone who's dead, it'll take you just as long to go to your spell list and raise the person than it will to walk by and /cry for them. When I'm playing my WHM or RDM, I raise any dead I see. Charging for raise is ***. If someone wants to give me a donation after a raise, I won't turn it down, but I never stick my hand out expecting them to pay up. Learn a craft or something if that's how you make money.

I'm thankful every day for my static party. Only once in a great while do I party with people who come close to those guys, and when I do, I /befriend them, because if I can find them again and take the time to put together a *good* party to avoid the bad attitudes and poor conduct, I will.

While I'm at it, I hate the 12 year old kiddie that thinks it's so cool to swear. I don't mind the occasional minor swear, but when they use it every other sentence it really sucks. And sometimes I just deal with it because they might actually be a decent player, but have absolutly no manners or respect in the game. Sure, I might be playing and something happens and I'll yell out loud "Oh ****", but I never feel the need to repeat what I've said in chat. Grow up.

Anything else I feel like whining about today? Nahh.. that might be it.

I know how both of you feel, people are such jurks. I have been playing this game since it came out in november. I have played with some of the best and some of the worst as well. I am a memeber of BadAssInc, and a proud part of the few our leader Refers to as OGs (the remains of the original american memebers of RogueSquadron (man that kicked *** while it lasted)).. I have seen the steady decline of "friendlyness" since the PS2 NA reliese. by no means am i blaming it on the PS2 players... as a matter of fact i can blame it on 2 things directly

the first was illustrated by Ndahood, some probloms occure because the PC players think they know more then the PS2 players, and as such treat them as inferior. This is by no means the case, i have played with all kinds of people. I have 3 chars one i deleted and Remade at the time of the PS2 release, so i went through the dunes with a group of ps2 noobs. Some where true "noobs" while others played as well as an average player (note they still didn't know advanced things like skill chains, however they knew how to do their jobs).. as a result of Ndahoods constant complaining and putting down my Peers he is and to this day remains the only linkshell member i have ever blacklisted

The second point is illustrated by Crystalis. Crystalis is the type of person who dosn't learn no matter how hard you try to teach her. I at one point tried to help her to no avail, she demaned Power levels from my white mage char, accused me of stealing her farming mobs on my ranger (i was exping on vomp lv 5 ranger, she was farming on vomp lv 55 Drk). this i think illustrates that some people are just jackasses and refuse to learn. (i guess you could also put Kenuty in this catagory. delt with him when he was a blind san dorian nationalist in the dunes as a lv 10 bst and to this day i hate sandoria mostly cause of him)

I am a lv 43 Rdm, i continually raise dead people i see, reguardless (well with the exception of the 2 types of people described above). I diaga trains in lower level zones (a couple times in qufim i need to diaga .. run and Chainspell Warp) how ever gave the noobs enough time to escape the massive banshee and weight train) I try to help people in any way i can.

If you care to talk or check up with me in game feel free

Well I dont know..

I haven't seen that much bad attitute in lower levels (gone through a couple of jobs through dunes/qufim).

Actually, I have a hard time remember anyone being an ***. It's only now at level 60'ish where I've met some rude and very annoying people. (people who think so highly of themself)

thats mainly because the people leveling in the dunes and qufim are more understanding... it's the people that haven't had to deal with people not knowing how to do stuff, the people that are full of them selves that are the asses.

I see plenty of bad attitude in Qufim..the name Karatekid comes to mind.

I plan on doing my best to skip the "normal" leveling zones up to 35'ish.
