Supergirl: They literally Poochie'd M'gann. I was in near tears laughing, and all I could say for a good ten minutes afterwards was how "P'chie died on her way back to her home planet."
APB: Huh, it really was a repackaged Iron Man. Billionaire Genuis Philanthropist in the private sector gets stuck in an armpit of the world and suffers a tragedy that drastically changes his life and world view. Instead of getting a shrapnel shard in his chest his best friend gets himself a terminal case of deaditus so he decides to take the law into his own hands, and no facial hair. I know they were shown on the commercials, but balls do I want that taser.

Why they didn't use those beautiful tasers at the fleeing suspect with the clearly visible weapon in his hand is beyond me. Also why did all three cops go to the front door instead of posting someone at the alley in case of escape? I mean, excluding the obvious "need to create dramatic tension for story purposes," of course. All I'm saying is Ensign Ricky wouldn't have been shot if anyone had actually done their jobs or at the very least used their damn equipment.

Beyond that, seems to be a pretty standard show, nothing really new for the genre.

New Iron Fist trailer. I was happy to see Coleen Wing (though disappointed in the lack of red hair) and Madame Gao, but then I got excited over the glowy fist. Already know I'll like the show, probably more than both Daredevil. I was worried we wouldn't get the glowy fist. Hopefully it breaks the Netflix curse of having an amazing first half and then fizzling out near the end. But yes, glowy fist like a thing unto iron.

Paramount recently removed their Friday the 13th reboot from their schedule officially, and almost immediately afterwards a rumor started circulating that the movie has been canceled. The reason cited was that since Rings underperformed, the Paramount suits got cold feet on the idea of rebooting another franchise. Which is dumb, you don't need to reboot a movie like that, you just have to make sequels. They've also have now taken the World War Z sequel off their release schedule. Tough times for the studio.

I finally caught the Wolverine: Logan commercials on TV instead of youtube, and the higher level of detail makes me realize just how angry the little girl looks in most of her scenes. Which is great.

I think they were/are doing a whole thing. There was one for Big Bang Theory, though it wasn't that funny.

So instead of showing them on TV, they'll stream all the episodes back to back online.

But, it looks like it's a Live Stream, so... you don't get to choose the episodes and watch at your own pace? Guess they haven't got it down yet.

SHIELD: I thought the Terrigen mist hurt humans? Isn't that how Coulson lost his arm? And Daisy's friend, Not-Mack, died in the first release?

I wish the Congresswoamn had been one. Having her just be blown up after being human is just disappointing. I wanted to see her suffer.

The ones that hurt humans were created by Femagneto whose name I don't remember as I'm writing this that was Mary Sue Poots' mother, but they were flawed or made differently and missing something that made them harmful to regular humans. "Real" terrigen was supposed to be harmless to people.

Vibration plus boom Inhuman. I'm 100% certain that was supposed to be Nitro, or a reasonable facsimile. Not bad, both are Kree creations, transformed against their wills.

Netflix Iron Fist clip, featuring Colleen Wing. The marketing campaign is kicking off.

WB Animation released a trailer for Teen Titans: The Judas Conspiracy. I get the feeling they'd just be better off sticking to animation and just abandoning the movie market all together sometimes.

The people behind hit movies like Vampires Suck, Epic Movie, and Scary Movie are getting to work on a Star Wars spoof, no doubt in the same vein. Expect the main male character to sleep with the main female character, who turns out to be his sister, and the twist ending that they do it again after finding out they're related. Because COMEDY.

Tonight Legion. I'm kind of curious how that is going to go, but considering it's the pilot not expecting much.

LEGION: (More speculation-y spoiler than episode spoiler... Episode was just trippy) This entire thing is in his head, isn't it? All his different personalities. Some trying to come together. The interrogator being one that wants to keep separate. Old blonde lady one personality trying to unify him.. The yellow eyed obese midget some sort of trigger to show it's all still in his mind.

I felt the same way. Especially that Bollywood Dance Sequence. The show is disjointed as hell, which for a show about someone with mental issues is about as right as you can get. There's about two or three different storylines playing at once, and it's hard to keep track of what goes where, which normally would be bad but in the show's context works well to keep you off balance. But man, the pace is out there. It feels like if you blink you're going to miss something important so you have to focus, which is already a task with the fractured nature of the narrative. Thank God for DVR. I am a little disappointed at the lack of David's huge distinctive hairstyle, though. At least the show poster kind of alluded to it.

I, too, have a sneaking suspicion that all the people are actually splintered fragments of David's personality, and the "real" David is actually comatose. Each personality has their own power, and some of the personalities are fighting for dominance over the body and ultimately all the powers, while others don't even realize they're just personalities. Though in retrospect I guess that is a little obvious, what with the show (and character) being called/based on Legion and all. It's only February, but I think this might be the show of the year.

According to Vincent D'Onofrio, there is zero chance that he'll reprise his role as the Kingpin in The Punisher. But considering it was a surprise appearance in Daredevil's second season I wouldn't call it definitive.

Adi Shankar confirmed on Facebook that there is a Castlevania animated series coming to Netflix sometime this year. According to him it will be a dark, satirical adaptation that would "flip the vampire sub-genre on its head," and will be the "western world's first good video game adaptation." Lofty claims, especially when competing with the Super Mario Brothers Super Show.

Following the Hulu Runaways casting announcement for the main characters they've now released the cast for the show's villains, the Pride. We've got Kip Pardue (Ray Donovan) and Annie Wersching (24) as Frank and Leslie Dean, Karolina's parents, Ryan Sands (The Wire) and Angel Parker (The Strain) are Geoffrey and Catherine Wilder, Alex's parents, James Yaegashi (Madame Secretary) and Brittany Ishibashi (Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows) are Robert and Tina Minoru, Nico's parents, Kevin Weisman (Alias) and Brigid Brannagh (True Colors) are Dale and Stacey Yorkes, Gert's parents, James Marsters (Angel) and Ever Carradine (Goliath) are Victor and Janet Stein, Chase's parents. No Gene and Alice Hayes Hernandez yet, I guess.

Also in casting news, Blair Redford (Switched at Birth) has been cast as "Sam," "the strong-headed Native-American leader of the underground network" for the upcoming "X-Men Family Drama." Original fan theory when hearing about an underground network was Morlocks, but even if we're going with misleading name that's still no Callisto.

Another promo for Netflix's Iron Fist.

I can't help but wonder if this is due to Molly being a mutant in the comics, and the weird mutant embargo going on between Fox and Marvel Studios. I'm betting the origin of her powers will be changed in the show along with her surname.

Got around to watching the first episode of Powerless. Nothing all that great, but I think it would probably be better suited as a comedic animated series or something. Just doesn't work out well in actual live action and poor CG.

I guess Vanessa Hudgens is cute, so it's got that going for it? Bruce Wayne / Batman jokes are probably going to be overdone (just that first one at the end was already too much). And the Cousin-Bro thing will probably be annoying soon too. Out of the team, I think I actually liked the rude, homely gal with the "I hate Emily" invention the best. Possibly gay black guy 2nd and maybe metro-sexual white guy a 3rd (just cause he hasn't done anything but obsess with colors yet).

I don't doubt for a second that she'll be Inhuman, which I honestly hadn't even thought about. Kind of makes me question how they're going to the mistake her powers activating with puberty part of the first arc now.

Robert Downy Jr, Chris Pratt, and Tom Holland all on the same set announcing the start of filming for Avengers: Infinity War. Needless to say, I'm giddy.

Michael Douglas has taken to social media to announce production on Ant-Man and the Wasp beginning production around July, and that he'll return as Hank Pym.

Across the street, Warner Brothers is rumored to have offered Batman's vacated director's seat to Matt Reeves. His most recent work is the latest batch of Planet of the Apes movies, and was the guy who was behind Cloverfield. Also rumors say that Thandie Newton, Maeve in Westworld, has been asked to join Woody Harrelson, Donald Glover and Alden Ehrenreich in the Han Solo ... solo movie. I'm never going to get the hang of saying that. Sophie Turner confirmed that she'll be returning in a future X-Men movie as Jean Grey.

Take-Two Interactive, the guys behind Bioshock and Red Dead Redemption, say that they've licensed a couple of their titles for motion picture production, which means more shoddy video game movies in our future. I guess I'd be a little interested in a Bioshock movie.

New TV spot for Guardians of the Galaxy: Vol. 2. You're welcome. Also we've got four of the songs that'll show up somewhere in the movie, showing that if nothing else Peter Quill's mom had good musical tastes.

"Fox on the Run" by Sweet
"The Chain" by Fleetwood Mac
"Come A Little Bit Closer" by Jay And The Americans
"Suffragette City" by David Bowie

New internationally TV spot for Wolverine: Logan.

Also new Johansson in the Shell trailer.

They also are the guys behind a little known franchise called Grand Theft Auto. Personally, I'd pay to see a live action Trevor Philips movie.

On another note, I saw John Wick Chapter 2 over the weekend, and left somewhat disappointed. It was nice to see them flesh out the John Wick criminal underworld a bit, but after the fifth ten minute gunfight, I was bored. I actually drifted off for a couple minutes during the final one in the mirror room. The end is a clear set up for a third movie, so we can expect that in a couple of years.

Supergirl: I'm hoping to see some Lena x Kara action. They better not disappoint. Side note: That was some unexpected Lena cleavage at the end there. Overall it was a dull episode full of rehashed enemies. The sapphic themes the only appealing part. Until the very end when yet another Kara love interest appears. Some sort of extradimensional or magical being that I have no idea who it is.

For some reason I didn't connect "Take-Two" with "Take2." But a live action GTA would be Gone In Sixty Seconds, except Nick Cage would be Lazlo. Personally, I'd probably prefer Tommy Vercetti. It'd still be a Fast & Furious ripoff, but with a better soundtrack.

Actually, now that I thought about it, I'd watch Nick Cage as Lazlo.

I thought the channel had flipped or something. Also, that was Mister Mxyzptlk, who was voiced by Gilbert Gottfried in the best episode of the 90s cartoon ("Mxyzpixilated" if you're so inclined to factcheck the episode's superiority for yourself) so next episode is bound to be "kooky."
Keanu Reeves, about Bill and Ted 3 wrote:
The writers came up with a story and we're trying to make it. It would be Bill and Ted in their 50s, and that just makes me laugh right there. There's a cool story. Basically, they're supposed to write a song to save the world and they haven't done that yet. So the pressure of having to save the world, their marriages are falling apart, their kids are kind of mad at them. But then someone comes from the future and tells them if they don't write the song it's not just the world, it's the universe. So they have to save the universe because time is breaking apart. So then elements of the past come in.
I'd watch the hell out of that, though the lack of George Carlin is certainly concerning.

A clip from the only scene from Beauty and the Beast that anyone really cares about.

Since Kenny Baker has been dead for a few months now, Star Wars has found a new body to stuff into R2-D2 in Jimmy Vee, who played a bunch of aliens in various episodes of Doctor Who and was a Gringott's Goblin in Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone. I guess that potty mouthed little automated trash can is in good hands.

Preview of the ongoing adventures of Thor and Daryl. The full version will be on the Doctor Strange Blu-Ray and Youtube.

Not sure why there is no new Flash or Legends of Tomorrow tonight, in favor of what looks like a cruddy reality show. Nothing political is showing up on the channel guide.

I couldn't make out the name he said (sounded Gibberish). I recognized the actor from that Once Upon a Time spinoff. I knew there were a few other-dimension beings in the various source materials. Just didn't know which was which. Lena's cleavage did make me forget about the whole "Lena beat Lex in Chess" and her handling of the chess piece after her conversation with Kara.

Another side note, if anyone is so interested, Katie McGrath played in a pretty boring mini-series about the Holy Grail and some cross time stuff called Labyrinth. It's only real redeeming quality is a nude/sex scene of hers. (Speaking of Labyrinth, she does kind of remind me of Jennifer Connelly... Just not in the chest department. They are nice and all, but Connelly's are better).

And in Sophie Turner news... That BAFTA dress. Smiley: nod One more season of GoT left. Maybe?

Also, The Walking Dead premiere was just a bit,"Meh". The car scene on the freeway was probably the most eye rolling I've done in the series. I didn't care of the way that scene played out at all.

And so pointless. They only killed the zombies that had already gotten passed the exit, so they could have just taken one car through the huge hole that the zombies left open, ran it into a group that actually was in the way, and made their escape. Was kind of nice of the undead to line up like that, though.

SHIELD: What a missed opportunity. They should have had only one LMD, not all four. Could have had a neat little mystery to speculate over for a week. And then it should have been none of them, but Jemma all along.

Six more people tagged on to Freeform's Cloak & Dagger. Andrea Roth (Rescue Me, Blue Bloods) as Melissa Bowen, Tandy's mom, Gloria Reuben (ER, Mr. Robot) as Adina Johnson, Tyrone's mother, Miles Mussenden (Bloodline, Queen Sugar) as Tyrone's father, Michael Johnson, Carl Lundstedt (Grey's Anatomy, Conviction) as Liam, a townie who operates as Tandy's partner in crime while moonlighting as her boyfriend, James Saito (Life of Pi) as Dr. Bernard Sanjo, an emotional cornerstone in Tyrone's life, and J.D. Evermore (True Detective, The Walking Dead) as Detective Connors, described as "a contradiction of a man embracing an intimidating persona that overcompensates for a secret he keeps close to the vest."

Wednesday is hell on DVR.

Legion: Dan Stevens is great at being unstable.
Arrow: Every PSA episode imaginable. Smiley: disappointed

Mel Gibson, the guy who said Batman v Superman was a "piece of sh**" and that big budget cape movies were basically wastes of money is rumored to be in talks with Warner Brothers to direct Suicide Squad 2. Arguably he never said he wouldn't do one ("I think there’s a lot of waste, but maybe if I did one of those things with the green screens I’d find out different") so who really knows until there's confirmation one way or the other. But let's just say for a second that it's possible. I don't really think he's a good fit. He's more into doing movies with good, pure, nonviolent people put in ugly violent environments, like Passion of the Christ and Hacksaw Ridge, and Suicide Squad is decidedly the opposite of that. Now, maybe I'd buy him directing Superman. Update: Apparently last night he was asked directly about it, to which he replied that it was "kind of a first date." So there we have it, talks are happening. Whether they amount to anything is anyone's guess.

The next season of American Horror Story is going to be about the 2016 election. Because the only thing that could possibly be scarier than the election would be to add Lady Gaga and Kathy Bates.

Scarlett Byrne, who played the Slytherin Pansy Parkinson in three of the Harry Potter movies, is going to be posing nude on Playboy now that they're doing that kind of thing again. To celebrate she posted a picture of her butt on Instagram.

Reel News Hawaii says that, along with some Inhumans filming, that there is a Namor show in the works. Furthermore Production Weekly also lists the Sub-Mariner as a future project. Not necessarily confirmation, and neither specify whether it's for television or movie, but a rumor is a rumor, and it's an interesting one.

Fox just extended the runtime of Wolverine: Logan by three minutes more than what was shown to critics, which pretty much means a last minute mid/after-credit scene being added. Considering this is Hugh's final Wolverine appearance, it begs the question whether if it's something for the next X-Men movie, an X-23 solo, or even Deadpool just for gits and shiggles.

Final trailer for the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers reboot.

Upupup.

According to the Hollywood Reporter, negotiations with Matt Reeves to direct the Batman movie have broken down, but there's possibility that talks could resume once "heads cool down." Between this setback, rumors that Affleck wants out of the entire project, and the studio's insistence of making a Batman movie regardless are all signs of a troubled production if you ask me.

Raja Ilya let slip that she'll be heading to Hollywood "in about six months" to appear in an upcoming Marvel Studios project, after first undergoing extensive martial arts training with Yayan Ruhian (The Raid, Star Wars: The Force Awakens). She didn't give any more details, but considering that Captain Marvel will be commencing production towards the end of the year or very early in 2018 that's a pretty good guess. Antman and the Wasp is also a possibility, but that is beginning production in June so if she were part of that then she'd be coming on board late, and possibly for post production scenes and such so less likely. Granted, she probably won't have a substantial role in the film, but at least some action scenes.
Samuel L Jackson wrote:
Yeah, I’d love to do a Nick Fury movie. I’m always open and game. But they got Infinity Wars, two movies to do there, and after that there’s Brie (Larson’s) movie Captain Marvel, which maybe (Nick) will be part of. Also, I asked them, “So you’re doing Black Panther and the only black character in the Marvel Universe is not showing up?” And they’re like, “Nick Fury is not in Wakanda!” How can he not know the other black superhero on the planet? How the hell does that work? But they just said, 'No you’re not in that one.'
Falcon, War Machine, Mordo, Heimdall, and Luke Cage are probably not too pleased with Mr Jackson.

Rumors from a test screening reveal that Ares will be the main villain for Wonder Woman and will be played by Harry Potter's David Thewlis.

Supergirl: I liked it, but... they kept referring to him as an Imp, his actor didn't fit that description. Kind of nullifies that description once you make him an attractive CW actor. I liked his personality though. Kind of wanted him to be tricked to saying the name while decoding the password, rather than just writing it down.

I did like the "Everything Little Thing She does is Magic" cover. Kara and Mon took that relationship from 0 to 60 pretty quick. And something about Melissa Benoist looked completely different in that last scene. Not like Supergirl, and not like Kara... can't figure out what it is. Maybe it was the casual dress, sans glasses, and with the hair back? Something about it was just striking.

Edit:
I think this is the cover. Turns out its existed for some time. I do like it when songs are done with piano.

I think the whole episode was pretty disappointing. Here we have a prankster that can do literally anything he feels like and ... he doesn't pull a single prank. It's like watching the Joker doing his taxes. It seemed like a complete waste of a character. Even his "limitations" seemed wonky. Okay, he added that he can't stop people from killing themselves but exactly how would that prevent him from saving himself in an explosion? Or just stopping the explosion? They really went out of their way to prove they knew how to say Mix-Yes-Spit-Lick. Over and over and over and over and over and over and over [...] again. At least they quickly threw in a "McGurk" near the start of the episode.

APB: "And that's how you engineer a confession!" Holy cod cocks are those words you simply never eeeeeeeeeever want heard anywhere near an interrogation. Even in context you've just blown the whole case. But I do love that they got the giant bully from Parker Lewis Can't Lose (Abraham Benrubi) and made him a main brain for the show. Something about that puts a smile on my face.

Some Inhumans news, and it's quite nice. Game of Thrones actor Iwan Rheon will play Maximus the Mad, the unhinged brother of Black Bolt, and if the reports are accurate then he'll be the main character and not the Inhuman Royal Family. Which kind of sucks for me, since I find Karnak the only really interesting Inhuman, and he's already a bit character to the Royal Family. This'll just push him further away. Or not. Who knows. Still, Karnak is best.

SHIELD: What a missed opportunity. They should have had only one LMD, not all four. Could have had a neat little mystery to speculate over for a week. And then it should have been none of them, but Jemma all along.

Yeah. The whole last part of that episode just didn't flow very well for me. I get the whole bit about the time period where they could not communicate, but it seems odd that all four of them were somehow captured and replaced so quickly. Quake at least should have been someone not so easily taken down. And then leaping to Fitz and Simmons figuring it out right away just seemed too easy. I'm wondering if that isn't a misdirect on the part of the writers, and the truth isn't that *they* were replaced and the whole "timing of events doesn't fit" and "out of communication" bits aren't their own programming covering up the truth to themselves. They might even be fabricating the LMD detector evidence in order to put suspicion on people who aren't LMDs while they are actually the LMDs. They might not even be aware of it too.

Dunno. Just seemed a bit too pat and straightforward for me. Doesn't mean it's not how they're going with the story, but that way just seems to full of holes. We'll see tonight what happened. Or will we... ?

Oh. And another odd/jarring bit. It did seem as though, for all the build up, the Superior went down too fast. He's fighting a war against inhumans, but had no plan in place when he inevitably ran into one face to face? What did he think was going to happen here? It's not like he was even set up by Aida. He set the trap. He lured the team there. Yet he seemed to have absolutely no plan to deal with them once they got there. Maybe there's more to this than meets the eye, and it'll be cleared up at some point, but the way it was presented just seemed really really strange.
