If anyone was curious, the Assassin's Creed movie did in fact suck just as much as the reviews said it would.

First synopsis for Thor: Ragnarok has been leaked, along with a picture of Hemsworth and Waititi on set.
Synopsis wrote:
In Marvel Studios' "Thor: Ragnarok," Thor is imprisoned on the other side of the universe without his mighty hammer and finds himself in a race against time to get back to Asgard to stop Ragnarok - the destruction of his homeworld and the end of Asgardian civilization - at the hands of an all-powerful new threat, the ruthless Hela. But first he must survive a deadly gladiiatorial contest that pits him against his former ally and fellow Avenger - the Incredible Hulk!

"Thor: Ragnarok" is directed by Taika Waititi and returns Chris Hemsworth starring as Thor and Tom Hiddleston reprising his role as Loki. They are joined by Cate Blanchett, Idris Elba, Jeff Goldblum, Tessa Thompson and Karl Urban, with Mark Ruffalo and Anthony Hopkins.

Kevin Feige is producing with Louis D'Esposito, Brad Winderbaum, Victoria Alonso, Thomas M. Hammel and Stan Lee serving as executive producers. The story is by Craig Kyle & Christopher Yost and Stephany Folsom, and the screenplay is by Eric Pearson. "Thor: Ragnarok" thunders into US theaters on November 3, 2017.
That pretty much confirms the rumor that Mjolnir would be missing for part of the movie and that Thor and Hulk will duke it out at some point, which is great since that was pretty much the best part of the first Avengers movie. Kind of weird that Bisquik Carsmasher's name doesn't show up, considering the previous reveal.

Now the question is if Mjolnir is just being held away from Thor, or if he's become Unworthy for the umpteenth time.

In other news, Fox's New Mutants spin-off movie is pitched as a trilogy, and apparently there is an "official" storyboard animation of Illyana Rasputin/Magik and Lockheed the dragon rushing into battle with a giant bear. If true, that would pretty much mean that it'll be based on the Demon Bear Saga, which while probably the best New Mutants storyline, not really a first movie kind of deal. In the books, the bear was this powerful demon that was linked to Moonstar's Cheyenne history, and emerged from her psyche to terrorize the other New Mutants. Also if Lockheed is showing up, then that means that Ellen Page may show up again as Kitty, though that is a bit of a cluster considering the rest of the franchise's timeline. I kind of feel you need at least one establishing movie to get to know the characters before doing a story like that, but we'll see. The movie is being touted as a “Stephen King meets John Hughes”-style horror movie targetting the young adult market. Also, Nat Wolff is being considered for the role of Sam Guthrie/Cannonball. Anya Taylor-Joy, who is playing Magik, said "I have [seen the Demon Bear animatic], it’s pretty cool. I’m a big fan so I’d love to be a part of it. I can’t say very much, but I would love to be a part of it. I think this year’s gonna be very exciting.”

Wolverine: Logan teaser, set to Johnny Cash's cover of Hurt.

And an aside, but we're all in agreement that "Bye Bye Man" is just a horror movie based on The Gameâ„¢, right?

Is that the same Logan trailer they have been showing in theaters? For the life of me I cannot remember if it was set to Hurt.

Also, I thought that was the girl from Stranger Things. But I guess it isn't.

Hmm, a bit late on the Logan trailer, it's been around for a couple months now. It does make the movie look awesome, though a lot of that may just be the man in black.

Well, in my defense I haven't been to a movie that'd show a Logan trailer since November.

Looks like The Flash and Supergirl musical crossover is going to involve the Music Meister. According to Greg Berlanti they were finishing up the script over the weekend. They haven't cast anyone for the role yet, but I know I'll be disappointed if it isn't Neil Patrick Harris. Still going to involve weird dimension jumping since the two shows are still separate. Also for the whole DCCW, according to showrunner Andrew Kreisberg the Black Flash/Reverse Flash from the last season will be returning in a big way. "I will say that you might be seeing him on multiple shows [...] He’s a classic character. We have storylines on multiple shows that fit having him around. There’s something so scary about him, something even scarier than when he was just the man, because now it’s now he is the Grim Reaper, he is the devil. How do you stop the devil? So it presents an interesting challenge for the heroes of the respective shows in which he appears." Although it probably won't be Teddy Sears, as he's got a role on the upcoming 24: Legacy, and Black Flash is going to be needed a lot. Also Flash news, Gorilla Grodd should be showing up for another two part episode arc.

According to the Scottish Daily Record, Liv Taylor might show up as her Betty Brant character in Avengers: Infinity War, along with Brie Larson and Karen Gillen. No actual indication where they got that information from, but a rumor is a rumor. Speaking of, Zoe Saldana confirmed she'll be in Infinity War as well.

Agents of SHIELD returns tonight apparently. Time for some LMD shenanigans.

Sterling K. Brown recently accidentally let slip that Phylicia Rashad, best known as Clair Huxtable, will also be involved in Black Panther. If I were to venture a guess, I'd say as T'Challa's mother. But really, the only way to see more stars in one place at this point is to look up at night. Also in appearances, Tom Holland has stated he'll be showing up in Avengers: Infinity War as well.

If anyone is interested, Cinemablend is giving away tickets to Split for this weekend. I haven't really been following that, other than a few commercials, so I'm assuming it's the story of Charles Xavier's telepathy finally getting the better of him and he goes murder mad. It's a M. Night Shyamalanadingdong movie, so that's well within the realm of possibility. I'm really guessing the reason the site got free tickets is because the production is concerned with competing with The Gameâ„¢ ByeBye Man releasing on the same Friday the 13th.

I didn't realize that Neil Patrick Harris was the voice of the "Prince Gumball" (Rule 63 Princess Bubblegum) on Adventure Time.

I'm looking forward to Adventure Time finishing up. I think it's got one season left, and it will answer some of those lingering questions about Finn and the Humans. But I think it will probably be rushed, seems like the show creator doesn't really care to do it anymore.

SHIELD Hypocrite Senate Lady just turned her brother into some Ultimate Inhuman Savior or something. Aida turned out to be nothing more than a puppet for Evil Scientist Guy. For now at least.

More one liners from Mack. This is exactly what happened in Lawnmower Man. She went all Maximum Overdrive on us. And a robot decapitation.

Mack has become the unsung hero of the show. He has the best weapon and gets some wicked one liners in the process. Also got to be a Ghost Rider for half an episode. LMDs only really do two things: Die or become corrupted. Sometimes one after the other. I think the senator's brother's power is Darwin's from X-Men/Factor/Force. The ability to evolve based on the stimuli he's exposed to to survive it. First he become superfast to dodge bullets and knives and such, and then at the end he turned to stone when under water. Not sure how that's going to play out for my theory, but it's still pretty early. Speaking of AoS, ABC's network president Channing Dungey says about another season of the show: "Absolutely. I’m very bullish on S.H.I.E.L.D. and we’re also really excited about our production with Marvel, ABC Studios, and IMAX, which we are working on for next fall as well." Which is surprising, considering most (myself included) would have guessed the show was on it's last legs for the network considering the time change. But apparently it actually worked out for the show.

Looks like Walking Dead returns next month to kick off the next version of "All Out War." Not my favorite story from the books, but I am kind of curious how they'll do the final scenes between Rick and Negan. Though I will say the latest issue was better than usual. Gotham and Lucifer return Monday.

All the CW cape flicks seem to have been renewed for another season. Peter Gadiot will play Mr Mxyzptlk in the next half of Supergirl's season 2. Episode 13 and 14 of The Flash will be the Gorilla Grodd episodes. Buckle in for some pain for the next half of Arrow as Felicity follows a "dark path" to avenge Billy Malone's death, but Laurel will make a few more appearances. At least one franchise is keeping the revolving door of death comic cliche alive, amirite? Legends of Tomorrow will be battling the Legion of Doom, and I hope they have the Darth Vader head headquarters from the olde cartoon. Not so much cape, but Molly Ringwald will be Archie's mother in episode 10 of Riverdale, assuming anyone watches it. I won't. Not voluntarily anyway. Though it is rumored that Sabrina (the teenage witch!) will show up in the season finale, but more "Rosemary's Baby" and less teenage hijinx.

Space Ghost: Coast to Coast is rerunning on Adult Swim, so that's awesome.

Latest trailer for the Russian cape flick Guardians, which is due for release next month. Hoping beyond hope that it gets brought this side of the pond.

I thought pretty much the same thing. That he'd have Darwin's powers. But I didn't think he just turned to stone. I thought he went back into his inhuman chrysalis thing. That he wasn't fully cooked, and what he said about fighting the change to his sister was true. Jemma calming him really did let him take over enough to break out. But with the near death experience and betrayal of his sister, he lost it again and the change continued.

So maybe not an instantaneous evolutionary power, but an all powerful power that hadn't yet fully developed.

I'm not up on the lore it draws from, so I don't know much of whether or not the terrigen change is something one can really fight. Guess it doesn't really matter in the end since the show can/has just adapted the source material to fit its planned narrative.

I also saw Space Ghost Coast to Coast the other day when I got home late after a call in at work. Forgot about how fun Adult Swim's shows used to be. I don't care for hardly any of there originals these days. I think Rick and Morty is the only current show on adult swim I enjoy (impatiently waiting for Season 3 to have a date announced). All their Tim and Eric type live action shows just don't do it for me.

Peter Dinklage is in talks for a "key role" in Avengers: Infinity War and the following sequel. Some people are speculating MODOK. Me, I'm hoping for Puck from Alpha Flight. I could also see Pip the Troll.

Apparently there's another X-Men based tv series in the works, closing in on becoming a pilot. Rumor has it it's going to be a family drama written by Burn Notice's Matt Nix. They're already going into exploratory casting, and Deadline states that the show "focuses on two ordinary parents who discover their children possess mutant powers. Forced to go on the run from a hostile government, the family joins up with an underground network of mutants and must fight to survive."

Hiram Garcia recently tweeted that he had a "great meeting" at DC Comics about the Shazam movie, and that "big things" were coming. Whether that means more information about the movie than Dwayne Johnson's involvement or just typical generic movie hype remains to be seen.

Marvel's Inhumans character breakdowns:
No mention of Lockjaw, which can make or break the show as far as I'm concerned.
Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick, about the future of Deadpool 2 wrote:
Yeah, it’ll be a solo movie. It’ll be populated with a lot of characters, but it is still Deadpool’s movie, this next one. We’re pushing forward very hard. I think by every account we will shoot it this year, and we’re on our multiple draft now. It’s taken different twists and turns, but it’s really coalescing, and we’re very, very excited. We’re a little nervous, because now we feel like we have to live up to the first movie, but at the same time, we have to have faith, and we have an extreme passion still, and as long as we have passion still, and it’s not a mercenary, venal play, which we don’t think this is, I think we’ll be in good shape.
Casting is underway for Cable, but rumor has it that a Domino is also being sought after as well.

Raymond J. Barry for a recurring role in Gotham as a mysterious temple shaman "who enters Bruce Wayne's life with the stated intention of unlocking the potential of his mind."

And in truly strange, rumor has it Disney is eyeing Will Smith for the Burton directed remake of Dumbo, being written by Ehren Kruger, who wrote Transformers. Yeah, that sentence is a trainwreck. I'm guessing Disney wants Will to be Dumbo, what with the ears.

EW has gotten Sigourney Weaver's character's name for the upcoming The Defenders, and it is "Alexandra." Yeah, no clue either. According to EW she has "no code name and no comic-book history." However, showrunner Marco Ramirez does give us some idea of what to expect from this "utter badass."
Marco Ramirez wrote:
Sigourney is the kind of person you can buy as the smartest person in the room, who you can also buy as a person holding a flamethrower. Her character is a very powerful force in New York City. She’s everything Sigourney is: sophisticated, intellectual, dangerous. [...] I’m sorry. I can only say a bunch of adjectives right now.
In more Deadpool 2 news, Wernick and Reese confirmed that Negasonic and Colossus will make at least appearances in the sequel. I'm going to go ahead and bet that it's going to be a cameo in the X-Mansion, and Wade is going to joke about how the last movie made so much money and they still can't afford more X-Men. Also showing up will be Dopinder, the cab driver from the first movie. Also from their mouths, Cable's backstory won't be explored too heavily in Deadpool 2.
Paul Wernick wrote:
So with Cable, he’s got such a convoluted past, and such a convoluted origin story that I think we’re going to try to leave that, not mysterious, but there are a lot of twists and turns, cloning and all this stuff where you go, “Oh my God. How do we get that across in a two hour movie?” I think we’re going to distill him down to his essence. It will be authentic and faithful, but it’s not going to include the 18,000 details if you were going to read a Wikipedia page about Cable you’d roll your eyes.
Thank god, the only thing worse than trying to unravel that knotted up ball is the Summers Family Tree itself.

Official.

Robbie Amell confirmed to be returning as Ronnie Raymond next season, but no word which version it will be. Initially I'd guess another dimension, similar to Hipster Welles, but then we do have to take the whole revolving door mortality deal, and there's also time travel up the wazoo so it could also be one of the originals.

Hot off of the announcement about Fox's latest X-Men TV project comes more news in that the show will be set in Fox's movieverse, and feature some "familiar" characters. I'd guess James Marsen, since he ain't doing anything ... well, other than Westworld now that I look it up. Maybe not. But Cyclops would be neat. Deadline reports that David Goyer and Justine Rhodes have been hired to script for Green Lantern Corps, and will likely have both John Stewart and Hal Jordan. More rumor on that is it's going to be "Lethal Weapon in space." So I guess expect an exploding toilet. Black Panther's N'Jobu Sterling K Brown wants to pull double duty apparently, as the actor has thrown his name in the hat to play John Stewart in the Green Lantern Corps as well.

Gotham returns Monday, and then goes back on hiatus two weeks later until April. Also expect Patton Oswalt to return to Agents of SHIELD as the original LMDs, the Koenig brothers.

Speaking of Lethal Weapon, the Fox show with Damon Wayans and Clayne Crawford has actually been enjoyable. I accidentally set the dvr to record it and ended up binging it when there was nothing else left in the device to watch.

More from Deadpool 2's hype train.
Collider wrote:
RHETT REESE: There is a responsibility we have to the X-Force universe, and I do think we will not disappoint the fans going into Deadpool 2 and then setting up X-Force and beyond.

PAUL WERNICK: We never want to let the tail wag the dog. We want to tell the best Deadpool story we can. But I do think we have a responsibility to think about a larger universe in the way that Marvel does and start to put pieces in place. Some of these movies feel overstuffed and almost choking with the need to set up eighteen different things that pay off down the road, and we want to avoid that responsibility to the extent that it hurts us. We want to hint at things, we want to plan some characters, and we want to make some nods, but we’re very, very cognizant about making sure that Deadpool is above all a Deadpool movie.

REESE: Its purpose is not to set up X-Force. It will likely set up X-Force, but the drive of the movie won’t be our eyes on Movie 3.
According to the Daily Mail, there's a rumor circulating that Bastard Cambridge will need a stand in for Avengers: Infinity War, as he's currently filming as Thomas Edison in The Current War, and there might be some overlap between the two movies so he might have to do his close-up and lines at a later date.

Lucasfilms has said they won't be making like Grand Moff Tarkin and using CGI for any future movies involving Princess Leia, which is nice. Though I imagine she'll probably be killed off next movie. Carrie Fisher already completed filming her scenes for Star Wars: Episode VIII so the question is if there'll be any major changes to that movie, and how it'll affect IX and beyond.

An unrelated note (well, maybe related. David Bowie was involved.). Regular Show ended today. I didn't follow the series closely, but watched a lot of it as it aired in the block of after-work Cartoon Networks shows. It was near the bottom of my list of all the shows, but had it's moments. But this past season I lost interest, mostly because it did a marathon week while I was out of town and it involved space travel and stuff, never bothered watching it all.

Series ended, and had a "future life of all the characters" set to Bowie's Heroes. I thought it was a nice touch.

He certainly started off as Totally Not Joker, but then they brought him back and are playing the "Will He Won't He" game pretty heavily. It certainly doesn't help the executive producer recently said that we "might" see a prototype version of Harley Quinn for the season 3 finale. Which I kind of hope they bring back Lori Petty for.

Kind of a shame, but according to Lauren Shuler Donner FX's Legion won't be set in the same universe as Fox's overall X-Menverse. They'll "touch on" David Haller's father being Charles Xavier, but beyond that it's it's own thing. Matt Nix's mutant family drama, on the other hand, will be set with the films.
Lauren Shuler Donner wrote:
Matt's is much more a part of just the world in terms of there are mutants, mutants are hated and there are Sentinels -- though very different from what we've seen before. You feel like you're here in the X-Men world. With Legion, we're our own universe. It gives Noah the freedom to do what he wants to do. Because we play with so many different timelines, and we rebooted and not really rebooted and all that, we felt like, OK, we're going to throw it out there and hope the fans accept it.

[...]

The cinematic universe will not worry about Legion. They will not worry about these TV worlds at all. They will just continue in the way that they have been continuing, and there is some great stuff that we are developing. I can just say it's going to be new and different, and yet Legion and our other show, we're not going to get in each other's way. (Asked about X-Men cameos) It depends. The feature side comes first, unfortunately, because it's established. They're our characters, so they come first, and as we decide feature world where we're going, there are certain characters we know we won't get into or if we do get into, it's OK to have them have an appearance.
Rick Cosnett confirmed he'll be returning to The Flash for season 3 as Eddie Thawne. Again, this being the CW, that can be any number of Eddie Thawnes he can come back as.

What the guy who directed Warcraft thinks about the future Green Lantern movie. Hopefully no one listens to him because, you know, Warcraft. Anyway, he's basically describing Nico Minoru from The Runaways.

Agents of SHIELD: Talbot calling anyone "You with the hair" is chuckle worthy. The exploding bullet had to be a reference to Luke Cage. Neat reveal about Mace, admittedly I didn't see coming. Can't really wait to see the fallout over there being two Aidas and a LMayDs running around. Speaking of, a little disappointing but according to the producer, Jeff Bell, we won't be seeing the "other Ghost Rider," the one theorized to be Johnny Blaze/Danny Ketch any time soon if at all. Shame, would like the show to explore it, especially the bullet hole in it's head.

Karen Gillan confirmed she'll also be in Avengers: Infinity War. Makes sense, she is Thanos' daughter and Thanos is finally taking center stage. Also, she did have a part in the original storyline.
What the SadAffleck meme taught Ben wrote:
It taught me not to do interviews with Henry Cavill where I don't say anything and they could lay Simon and Garfunkel tracks over it, that's one thing I learned.
I'd say at least he has a sense of humor over it, but considering his recent reaction to people asking about his Batman solo movie during interviews, I'm not so sure. If you don't know what he's talking about:

Character breakdowns for New Mutants. Everyone is given fake names, as is the thing to do to try to make things a surprise, but even without the video you can pretty much guess who will be in the movie if you have even remotely know the source universe.

If you're not familiar but want to be spoiled anyway, the movie will pretty much consist of everyone that was guessed: Cannonball, Magik, Sunspot, Wolfsbane and Mirage, with Cypher, Magma and Warlock possibly showing up. Dani Moonstar doesn't get a breakdown because apparently she's already been cast.

Sony also confirmed that the animated and unadjectived as of this moment Spider-Man movie will revolve around Miles Morales and not Peter Parker. They announced it today during a press conference while showing off some test footage and concept art. The animated movie will be directed by Bob Persichetti and Peter Ramsey, and in theaters just before Christmas '18.

Wix.com's Super Bowl commercial, featuring Gal Gadot and Jason Statham. See if you can spot the stunt doubles.

New trailer for Powerless, with some more changes. Apparently Alan Tudyk's character has changed from a Lex Luthor fanboy to straight up Bruce Wayne's cousin, and there's a lot of name dropping. There's also a glimpse of a Green Lantern and Starro fight, and some Wonder Woman merchandise. Show is going to be heavy on references.

Lionsgate dropped a surprise second trailer for Power Rangers. Personally, I had little interest in it in the first place, but Cranston talking about how it isn't campy like the original tv series really killed what little there interest I had.

The new Wolverine: Logan trailers are out. Regular and extended International flavors.

Hellboy 3 might happen, but needs some fan support.

Sealab 2021... probably the best show Adult Swim ever aired. Haven't really liked any of their other stuff until Rick and Morty came out. There were some that I watched, but not all the time. ATHF, Metalocalypse. Etc.

Cartoon Network also started playing Samurai Jack last Saturday (first episode). Seems to be doing 1 episode at 8pm on Saturday. I remember something about someone wanting to bring Samurai Jack back? Is this a prelude to that?

Some of Sci Fi's shows are coming back in the next month or so. Expanse and Magicians. Guess we'll get to see how Magicians handles their little social media controversy lead female character gains super powers by being raped. A bit of an uproar about that one online as could be expected. One day I should watch that Channel Zero show (It was only a handful of episodes, right?)

I've grown to like Incorporated. I'll stick with it. I am not sure I liked the reveal about Mace in SHIELD... something just feels underwhelming about it. Going to have to give it some time, I guess. One thing I'm not sure about in SHIELD. If Evil Not-Evil Scientist created and controlled these Aidas the whole time, wouldn't the original, apparently still living Aida-Head in Fritz's care be linked somehow to the central system and the Scientist be able to know what it is Hearing/Seeing etc?

(If you haven't been able to tell by now, I'm pretty bad with remembering names).

Did I drop the ball on that one? Ouch, sorry. Yeah, there is a final season coming up. Genndy Tartakovsky confirmed it December. It'll pick up 50 years in the future from the "end" of the last series, and have more "mature elements (like blood) and form a cohesive story" and finally conclude the whole series. Tartakovsky says they hired a guy that does a pretty good imitation of Mako Iwamatsu, which no doubt people will nitpick over. Also, the Scotsman is said to be returning so that's enough reason to watch for me. Here's the featurette about it.

There's barely any news about Shazam, and the movie already is going to have a spinoff for Dwayne Johnson's Black Adam.

Marvel is tagging Roel Reine to direct the first two episodes of The Inhumans. He is best known for such fine movies as The Man With The Iron Fists 2, Death Race 3, The Scorpion King 3 and other direct to dvd sequels.

I think it was mentioned previously in this thread (Samurai Jack) I just didn't recall it, or if I did I didn't recall if it was a rumor or real.

Also... This is a thing.

Second trailer for Logan. This one shows quite a bit more of the little girl, including how she and Logan are so similar. It could be considered NSFW due to some gore and a bit of language.

Also, the second trailer for the new Power Rangers movie, despite featuring a ****** Kanye West song, has me cautiously optimistic about the the movie. They seem to have captured the spirit of the original show without carrying over the terrible acting. I might even watch it at some point now.
