I get what they're trying for with the flaming skull for the show. It's part flaming skull of the original Ghost Rider and part flaming racing helmet of Robbie Reyes' version, but if the poster is any indication, at least to me, it looks more like Doom baddies and looks too "cartoony." Maybe it'll look better in-show.

Jackie Earle Haley cast in James Cameron's live action adaptation of Alita: Battle Angel as alledgedly a "cyborg villain", so shouldn't be long before Twitter loses it's collective shit over it. Margot Robbie will be executive producing the Suicide Squad spinoff based on her Harley Quinn, because sure why not. Nothing to really do with this thread, but Super Troopers 2 is not only a thing, but Rob Lowe will be in it making it that much more awesome. His character is, according to Deadline, Guy Le Franc, a mayor of a Quebec border town.

CBS's new Star Trek series, Star Trek: Discovery, is being pushed back from a January premiere to May. They say the delays is due to issues with quality. "We aim to dream big and deliver, and that means making sure the demands of physical and post-production for a show that takes place entirely in space, and the need to meet an air date, don't result in compromised quality," according to executive producers Alex Kurtzman and Bryan Fuller.

WB to release the Constantine Blu-Ray, the one with Matt Ryan, on October 4th. I still miss the show.

I generally avoid Twitter; why would they rage about Jackie Earle Haley being cast in Alita? Just because Twitter? Or is there any kind of reason behind it? I'm assuming he'll be playing Makaku, but that's just a personal hunch...

Alita is anime, which to Twitter means only Asians are allowed to be cast for live action adaptations if the last round of outrage from Scarlet Johansson being cast as Major Kusanagi in Ghost in the Shell is any indication.

In Legends of Tomorrow, it sounds like Lance Henriksen won't be the only Obsidian, as it has been confirmed that Dan Payne has been cast as a younger version of the character. That sounds like half of Back To The Future 2. Henry Cavill's agent has confirmed that Man of Steel 2 is in production, and that Cavill himself has decided to take on a much more active role. Good, maybe he'll look less bored third time out. Vincent D'Onofrio was recently asked about his Wilson Fisk returning to the Netflix Marvel universe, to which he replied "That I can't answer. I do know, but I can't answer ... so take that as you will." Which is pretty much confirmation if you ask me. Dichen Lachman, who was Inhuman Magneto Jiaying in Agents of SHIELD will crossover to the other brand as Roulette in the second season of Supergirl, who is a casino owner slash fight promoter.

Relative newcomer Cailee Spaeny joins John Boyega and Scott Eastwood in the Pacific Rim sequel. The first was certainly an amusing kaiju flick with people walking funny.

Todd McFarlene, known to most as the guy whose name is on all those awesome looking but fragile as all hell action figures, says that his next attempt at bringing Spawn to the big screen will "And it's not gonna be a continuation, it's not gonna be a sequel, it's not gonna be any of that. Scrap the first movie it was twenty years ago. It's gonna be a dark, R-rated, scary, badass sort of script that's tight. And it's not a nice, polite, PG-13 with ray guns and headquarters ... You're never going to see a dude in a rubber suit....This is going to be my Jaws shark." So, ignoring that it's a creator talking about his own creation, sounds great. The first movie was such cheese that only b-movie connoisseurs such as myself really enjoyed for it's camp.

Bryan Cranston wants to play Mister Sinister in an X-Men movie mostly because no one else has before. Actually not a bad reason.

Jurassic World 2's budget is rumored to be around $260m. Yikes.

A photo of JK Simmons as Commissioner Gordon was released Saturday, better known as Batman Day. Say what you will about Zack Snyder as long as you say he's a crap director, but at least we know he opens comic books and knows how to take still pictures of the scenes he sees with actors.

We're about two months out from the next cape flick, as such a more detailed plot synopsis for Doctor Strange has been released. Mostly spoiler free, since it's just more words describing what everyone that's even remotely followed the movie's progress.
Doctor Strange Plot Synopsis wrote:
From Marvel comes Doctor Strange, the story of the world-famous neurosurgeon Dr. Stephen Strange whose life changes forever after a horrific car accident robs him of the use of his hands. When traditional medicine fails him, he is forced to look for healing, and hope, in an unlikely place -- a mysterious enclave known as Kamar-Taj. He quickly learns that this is not just a center for healing but also the front line of a battle against unseen dark forces bent on destroying our reality. Before long Strange -- armed with newly acquired magical powers -- is forced to choose whether to return to his life of fortune or leave it all behind to defend the world as the most powerful sorcerer in existence. Join Strange on his dangerous, mystifying, and totally mind-bending journey when Marvel's Doctor Strange opens in Irish Cinemas on 25th October.

That was one hundred fifty percent certainly Man-Bat Comish-to-Be Gordon hung out the window, but I'm on the fence with the guy that got slammed by the truck at the start of the episode. Either Croc or Doomsday. Either way, pretty good start for this season's Gotham. Lucifer on the other hand I felt my attention waxing and waning, though the end was certainly amusing. Scream Queens and Agents of SHIELD tonight.

Elena Anaya confirmed that she'll be a baddy making trouble for Diana in the upcoming Wonder Woman flick, stating that "Well, it was a small role in this big ensemble, but it is an important character in the story. It's directed by Patty Jenkins, then there's Gal Gadot as our main lead, Chris Pine as her co-lead and I'm going to be ... a big nightmare for the two of them"

Gotham was pretty good. I thought Emo-Bruce looked a lot like Carl. Was getting ready for some "God damn it, Carl" moments. I expected Ivy's scene to be a catalyst to her using some plants to stop the Aging-Man and make Fish see her power and not want to kill her. Instead I guess they will push that out a bit further. Probably still triggered by this seemingly deadly fall into a rushing sewer line.

I thought Lucifer wasn't bad. It was pretty much the same as it was in the first season. Lucifer makes for a charming devil character and Chloe likes the eggs. Though I did think for a moment that the new forensics girl was going to be Lucifer's mom. And for a moment that Amenadiel losing his time stopping powers was going to lead to him losing his immortality as well, and accidentally actually almost dying when he was doing his little trick.

On a side note... Chloe needs a better makeup artist in the show. Are they trying to make her look drugged out? Cause if so they are doing a good job.

I'm kind of pissed that they did the season premiere and are immediately following it up with a week off. They should have just waited a couple more weeks and avoided having the gap.

I'm pretty sure the only show that's on hiatus next week is Lucifer due to the Presidential game of The Dozens Debates.

So the flame skull works much better in action than on a poster. The cracks in the skull are kind of similar to where comic-Robbie's maskull has flame ... exhausts? I guess you can call it that. Enjoyed the melting transformation effect. Hope we get to see the Penance Stare. Other aspects of the show were okay. May kicking ass, Fitz and Simmons, as well as Coulson and Mack being themselves, Mary Sue Poots' butt. Also building a Life Model Decoy. I'm still betting that is how they're bringing Ward back to the show. Good start. Scream Queens was exactly as it was meant to be. Ridiculous camp. John Stamos' character's backstory was basically Doctor Strange minus a trip to Tibet, so that was something.

After the Dark Tower movie, Idris Elba will be returning to the role in a spin-off tv series.

Keanu posing for a promotional still for John Wick 2, looking dapper and wooden, which is par for the course. I liked the first movie, but I think it would have been better off as a one and done. Also, Francis Ed Skrein joining Rosa Salazar and Jackie Earle Haley in Battle Angel Alita, cast as Zapan, an evil cyborg who has obtained a weapon called the Damascus Blade. In the manga he's like, the main bad guy. Pacific Rim 2 picks up Jing Tian, a relative new comer that'll also be in Kong Island. It's been revealed that Michael Fassbender's Assassin's Creed's historical Spain scenes will be spoken in Spanish, so get ready to read half the movie.

Now some near conspiracy level rumors, the New York Comic Con twitter released a statement about how Jon Bernthal could only be there on Saturday and Sunday due to his Netflix production schedule. Now, unless there's some secret project we're unaware of, that could mean that The Punisher could start filming as early as October, which also vibes with the fact that auditions and casting is already taking place and reports of a 2017 release. Also, during the red-carpet premiere of this season's Agents of SHIELD last week, Jeph Loeb invited a bunch of people to be in attendence. One was Felipe Smith, who was pretty much responsible for Robbie Reyes' creation, but more importantly Gerry Conway. Gerry has written Ghost Rider in the past, but more notably Jeph introduced him as "the creator of the Punisher," and reportedly followed it up by saying "You will understand why I brought all these people here later in the season, and why it makes sense." So ... Ghost Rider versus Punisher later in the season? I don't even care if it turns out false, just the possibility is exciting to me.

Disney CEO Bob Igor said "I had a meeting yesterday with Kathy Kennedy and we mapped out — well, we reviewed — the ‘Star Wars’ plans that we have ’til 2020. We have movies in development for ‘Star Wars’ ’til then, and we started talking about what we’re going to do in 2021 and beyond," about Star Wars, and described Rogue One as "An experiment, of sorts." He also added "We had a similar meeting with Marvel a week-and-a-half ago to plot [those films] out, where we’ve got movies in either development or production — some nearing completion — through the end of this decade. [There], we too are beginning to talk about what do we do the next decade, and so on."

AMC is taking a break from the Negan promos to show of Khary Paton's Cybrog Ezekiel and Shiva.

Promos 4 and 5 for ScarJo's Ghost in the Shell. Not sure where the first three are, though not particularly interested enough in the project to hunt them down.

Got around to watching the new Tick pilot. It was a lot darker than I expected, which made Tick's behavior that much more hilarious.

Hulu picks up Top Cow's Postal for a live action adaptation. This one I actually read, it's basically about a somewhat autistic mailman in a town of criminals who are off the grid who are looking for a second chance to reclaim their lives. Then there's the first murder in twenty-five years, and things start shifting gears as there's a pretty strict zero tolerance rule for any illegal activity that might draw attention to the town.

Looks like another Jurassic Park star has joined Jeff Goldblum in Thor: Ragnarok. Sam Neill said "I'm not really allowed to say this, and I can't tell you what it is. I did a couple of days on Thor just before I came over here. I had to sign all sorts of things that if I say anything else, Marvel's secret agents, and they are lethal, will come and get me, and probably my children as well."

Heh, Bane-ana.

Kevin Feige, commenting on the upcoming Doctor Strange.
Feige wrote:
One would imagine that anybody living in New York is aware of what had occurred in various instances. But like, in our real life, people go about their daily business and go about their job, and his job is to be the best neurosurgeon and to take the best cases and to get the most attention and to get the most accolades and that's what he's focused on until his accident. So he doesn't spend a lot of time talking or thinking about the Avengers.

This is very much a standalone introduction to a very complex character and a very complex world, which -- through this movie, and until maybe some upcoming movies -- is relatively self-contained and independent. People inhabiting the same world, who are stopping buildings from falling down and robots from doing this or aliens from doing that, these people in this movie are stopping inter dimensional forces from wiping out all of reality. So, although it doesn't necessarily come up, we've always sort of assumed that the sorcerers have bigger fish to fry. When they hear there's something happening in the city, or there's a bank being robbed, they're not thinking about it. They're thinking about, 'If we don't keep vigilant, our sense of reality will disappear and there won't be a bank to rob and there won't be a city to be conquered.'

Gotham: I'm not sure if I was more annoyed that there was no one guarding the back door when Gordon snuck in, or when the riot started and there was still no one guarding that back door. At no point do you leave an exit unguarded. Smiley: motz

Also Penguin letting Fish go annoyed me. I was kind of hoping that after the "heartfelt" scene, he would look up, smile, shrug his shoulders and shoot her anyway. That would have made the scene infinitely better.

SHIELD: May going nuts was amusing. Didn't see Director of SHIELD Hyper Happy Man being an Inhuman, though now I'm kind of curious who he is supposed to be. They mentioned he was a well known hero, or well known person, which is why he was made the director slash face. At least they put some doubt towards Robbie being Inhuman, though still not out of the woods. Darkhold reference was nice, which was attached to a supernatural storyline back in the '90s. Looks like we're heading towards Doctor Strange afterall.

Also a Smiley: motz for the Vice President Debates next Tuesday.

Tyron Woodley, the UFC Champ, has walked away from a potential villain role in Spider-Man: Homecoming.

Luke Cage this Friday, Ash vs Evil Dead returns Sunday, Flash returns Tuesday right before that stupid debate, and Arrow on Wednesday.

So I rewatched SHIELD, because I don't like things I know I should catch but don't. The director's name is Jeffrey, which leads me to believe that after a short google search, that there was a Jeffrey Mace that happened to be the third Captain America, near the end of WW2 while the original model was on ice and the second got stepped on by a giant robot. The episode also made a point of referring to him as basically a stand in for Steve Rogers. They wanted the "face of SHIELD" to be a hero, and this guy was in the books. He was a regular guy, but then again live action Steve can hold down a helicopter so I guess they need to up Jeff's power level as well.

First real look of Michael Rowe as Valiant's Ninjak, who is a wealthy British secret spy slash highly trained ninja. Variety is reporting that Winston Duke will be a second villain in Black Panther as M'Baku. I kind of doubt that, since his supervillain nomenclature is The Man-Ape, and as hilarious as that would be I just can't imagine that making it into a movie in this climate. Also, looks like Misty Knight will be showing up in Defenders.

Is it Friday yet?

Floating around, the initial reaction to Luke Cage seems to be that storywise it's better than Jessica Jones and Daredevil Season 2, but not quite Daredevil Season 1. Also not quite there with David Tenna and Jon Bernthal as far as characters. Work wifi doesn't quite support Netflix and I work this weekend so I'll probably check it out starting Sunday night.

As someone who loves playing Half Life and Portal, what's the movie of this, it's incredible when you talk to someone who just 'gets' it, it's like, oh my god, it's really the seed for this incredible tree you're growing.
I'd watch a Portal movie, as long as it's actually Portal and not a prequel that leads to the events of the game.

West World on HBO was off to a good start. I just happened to flip through the channels here before going to bed and stumbled onto it as the first episode was airing (assume it was a repeat airing).

Will be back home on Wednesday hopefully. Not sure when CW starts it's shows up again. I think I saw some commercials for Supergirl starting next week. I won't be going to Japan next week, unfortunately. Bad part, not going, good part, I guess, I won't be missing out on TV shows.

Came home to my dvr hanging itself by the cord, trying to commit suicide. Fear the Walking Dead was meh, but the season premiere of Ash vs The Evil Dead was spectacular on pretty much every level. One part creepy and two parts hilarious, with a copious amount of gore and splatter. Bruce Campbell at his finest. Then I finished my night with a few episodes of Luke Cage. Just four episodes in, and I must say I'm enjoying it immensely. It's definitely not action oriented, but the story and characters put it a notch above most shows. Also, the music is an absolute delight. Watching Westworld. Interesting, but what really caught my attention was the piano remix of Black Hole Sun and orchestral Paint It Black playing. It's been a very musical day for me. Smiley: thumbsup

Trailer for the next Pirates of the Caribbean movie, Dead Men Tell No Tales, looks interesting enough with the spooky ghost zombie sea monster creatures, but after the last one I can't say I'm all that interested in seeing it. Javier Bardem does know how to chew a scene though, so that's not so bad.

The Doctor Who Christmas Special will co-star Justin Chatwin, who you may have gotten sick from his portrayal of Goku in Dragonball Evolution, as a yet to be named superhero. Good will towards men indeed. In better news, Tom Cavanagh will play yet another version of Harrison Wells. Good, since he's probably the best part of the show. Spider-Man: Homecoming and Justice League have both apparently wrapped filming, so now we play the waiting game. Thor: Ragnarok's director Taika Waititi shared a picture of Korg, the rock creature from the Planet Hulk storyline (and apparently Thor: Dark World), so he'll probably show up in the upcoming movie.

Mad Hatter tonight on Gotham, that should be something. Also, since it's hit four seasons Arrow has been syndicated, picked up by TNT and apparently they are marathoning it or they did marathon it over the weekend because there's like two dozen episodes on my dvr, but I guess it's a good way to be reminded of just went wrong, and the new season of misery starts Wednesday. Flash tomorrow, and no SHIELD because there needs to be a Vice President debate who really, no one gives two flips about.

Speaking of Agents of SHIELD, Jed Whedon and Maurissa Tancharoen both confirmed to Entertainment Weekly that Jason O'Mara's character is in fact Jeffrey Mace, the Patriot. Smiley: thumbsupSmiley: schooled

Gotham: ***** the rest of the characters, I want a show based on the misadventures of Penguin and Riddler.

Jon Bernthal starts filming for Netflix's The Punisher, and a few set photos have leaked. Looks like we're going Metal Gear Castle, better memed as Solid Frank. Official premiere date for Netflix's Iron Fist is now March 17, 2017. Came with a short teaser.

To preface, I just want to mention I watched a few more episodes of Luke Cage. Still enjoying the show and the music. Mahershala Ali, who in my opinion was great as Cottonmouth, is now attached to James Cameron's Alita: Battle Angel. The casting is becoming kind of interesting now. Cameron Cuffe will be Superman's grandfather Seg-El in ScyFy's Space Shark Super Ghost Attack Krypton pilot.

Flash: Season premiere of Barry ruining his and everyone else's lives by being a selfish brat. Someone made a chart. At this point I'm kind of curious just how many Barrys and Eobards are just standing around that house during Mom's murder. Like that episode of Family Guy with Stewie and Brian. Pretty weird that Eobard apparently Speed Forced his imprisoned stubble off.

Allegedly the second page for the next Wolverine script, released on Twitter by director James Mangold. I doubt it's actually part of the script, just considering I'd imagine the first couple of paragraphs would be more on the first page of the script, not the second. Also a poster and billboard.

Apparently yesterday was Wolverine: Logan Day, as more rumor reports were released. According to The Wrap, in the future where the movie takes place the birth rate of mutants has significantly declined, leading to a drop in the population of freaky eye lasers. Also in this future there is a government programmed called "Transigen," which is tasked with turning young mutants into weapons. Also Wolvy is older and his healing factor has taken a hit, to the point where allegedly sometimes they don't even work. Apparently the rest of the X-Men have disappeared for whatever reason, leaving Logan to take care of an unstable Xavier and a young girl with two retractable claws. X-23, minus the foot claw. Also she'll be helped out ocassionally by Caliban, played by Stephen Merchant. Kind of contradictory to the future from Days of Future Past, where everything was sunshine and unicorn farts, and that there was a version of Caliban in Apocalypse. * Patrick Stewart in Wolverine: Logan. Looks like some truth in the reports on his situation.

The Han Solo movie is rumored to have "tested" Creed's Tessa Thompson, Power Rangers' Naomi Scott, and Mad Max: Fury Road's Zoe Kravitz for roles. Presumably one of the roles is for Sana Starros/Solo, who in the new comics was once married to Han as a cover for a robbery which he later ran off with the loot.

Another set photo from Netflix' The Punisher reveals that Deborah Ann Woll's Karen will be showing up. Kind of makes sense, considering she and Frank had some rapport. The Punisher brings in Ebon Moss-Bachrach as Frank's on again and off again sidekick Micro, and Amber Rose Revah as made-for-Netflix character named Dinah Madani, who is a Homeland Security agent that is vexed by the Punisher. I guess Frank tries to get a pistol into an airplane? Also, turns out Ben Barnes isn't playing Bobby Saint as originally rumored, but Billy Russo, who was Frank's best friend during their time in Special Forces. Though that detail changed, Billy Russo does actually eventually become Jigsaw in the books so one step back two steps forward as far as I'm concerned.

It took me awhile to finally figure out that that was Paint It Black. It was annoying me so much that I wasn't even really paying attention to the scene. I'm not fan of the Rolling Stones, so it's not something that I hear often, but it was so familiar that it was killing me.

Anyway, Westworld doesn't seem too terrible so far. I do find it more than a bit odd that they store the faulty robots instead of destroying or reprogramming them though. It doesn't seem to make much sense. They can apparently create and repair them easy enough, there doesn't seem to be any reason to keep them around. I'm really hoping that they won't go the obvious route and have them all activate and become an army of insane killbots.

Catching up on so many shows...

DVR messed for a few days last week. Instead of recording Flash, it said it did, but instead recorded an episode of Simpsons on FXX. Also missed episodes of Gotham and a few other things. Going to have to hunt them down.

Started watching Luke Cage. Half way through ep 4 now. Music works well, and I'm liking the character development.

Also, something about Sigorney Weaver playing a villain in the upcoming "Defenders" Netflix show.

Edit:
Looks like Agent Carter is coming to the next season of Disney XD's Avengers show. To be voiced by Hayley Atwell. I've seen a few episodes of Disney's animated shows, but not many. Usually on the weekends if nothing is on in the morning and I happen to stop flipping channels around there. Maybe I should look them up and check them out. I think I saw earlier seasons on Netflix, and there was rumor that Disney wanted to buy Netflix, meaning it could be a big place for Marvel in the future.
