From the director who brought us District 9. It was a toss up between this and Two Guns, which in hindsight now looks to be the better of the two, based on trailers and now having watched this.

My simple review,; it was good. But I'm easily entertained.

Some scenes not for the squeamish apparently, as the lady sitting beside me had her face covered for large parts of it.

And it was Tuesday cheap night, $6 for the wife and I.

Saw it and liked it. The action was great for the most part. The gore reminded me of similar scenes in District 9, with some added profanity. Flipping of someone you are just about to kill. Some may find this tasteless, I found it amusing.

But

The trailer looks better than the movie is as a whole. My expectations were a bit high which let to a slight disappointment. The whole concept of a divided/marginalised population could have been explored a bit more.
And the ending was too much cheese for my taste.

I read mostly critical or plain negative views of the movie, so I went in with little expectations. I liked it, but it's not that good a movie. (Imo anyway)

Still easily better than Oblivion. Best SF movie I've seen this year, althoughnI hope that Ender's Game will be better.

I've seen commercials, and I must say I had no idea what the hell I was really seeing. Looked like a pretty standard action flick.
