That was pretty much my first thought the moment Carrol says Hardy had sex with his wife.
I agree that this show as is does not seem like a multi-season candidate. But that's not exactly a bad thing. If they can keep it the story interesting and give it a proper ending it will be better than milking it out and then having to quickly wrap it up as people lose interest and the ratings drop.
