Maybe I was just reading too much into it. I just always wonder what the writers' intentions are with these little things - they seem to like little details that have bigger importance.

Well, in Fire and Frost they had Finn having some wet dreams about Flame Princess. Then he ruined his relationship with Flame Princess by inadvertently letting his true feelings about their relationship, like how she can't even kiss him without melting down. And in the latest episode he tried to hook back up with the Princess and has still come to realize that he's not anywhere near her maturity level. And now has to fix things up with Flame Princess again. I wonder how, if at all, they will make Flame Princess x Finn work again.

My guess is that he is going to have to mature. Possibly have to relinquish things like old memories he is completely embarrassed about.

Either that or they will never get back together.

He should just surprise her and go straight to Tier 15, that should rekindle the romance.

Yeah, she will learn that lying is a necessity to keep things civil. Finn will be there and quickly forgive her. Plus with cinnamon bun there things are obviously going to go downhill relatively quickly. Smiley: tongue

It is also worth noting that PB was working on making FP more stable so next time Finn and FP get romantic they don't destroy Ooo.

Edit: Spoilers are hard. Smiley: frown

Well, PB was going to stabilize her by removing her emotions so she didn't ever feel that way. So PB's experiments wouldn't have ended well for Finn and the Flame Princess.

Hmm I see your point. When I first heard it I thought she was just going to break the link between her emotions and whatever regulates her temperature. It would not cause her to be one of those unemotional drones ala Dragons Age but something that can be a bit less unstable.

And, you know ... birds in Ooo are all sentient and highly intelligent and such.

Considering Lady's parents wanted to eat Finn I find nothing odd about it.

Edit: Plus at the end of the episode Finn ate Soy Human, which was compared to tasting like real human. And he liked it...

Here I was hoping for a mother like figure. Smiley: frown

I did notice something odd about this episode.

At the end, after she gave the amulet to Finn, it showed her back in her humanoid appearance with the claw arm. The problem is she left that behind at the radioactive river.

Wasn't she the ghost in that one Clue-like episode where they were all dressed fancy like?

As far as the robo-arm being back, it's a ghostly hallucination, it doesn't need logic.

Yes. She shows up near the end when Jake, Lady, and everyone is pulling the prank on Finn. Finn thought he was getting revenge on Jake for the Birthday party prank on the train, but Jake figured it out and turned it around on Finn. This ghost appears and makes freaky stuff happen, first time she tried to communicate with him I think. Finn thought it was part of Jake's hijacked prank, but Jake said he had no idea what he was talking about. After figuring out that it was real, Finn locked the memory in his "vault" where he keeps everything that scares him. Including clowns and the ocean.

He opened the vault in the episode with the Worm King in his dreams. I think this ghost appeared then too (cause it was locked in there at the time).

I was kind of hoping at the end that PB would say something about the experience with her and the armless girl. Expand on the info a bit. Like whether or not this girl was human, potentially related to Finn. That's one part of the universe that hasn't been explored yet that I really want. Finn's origins, his parents, where the humans went, how Finn was left behind, whether or not Susan Strong is a human. If she is a Human I wonder why Finn hasn't persued her more...

Time Sandwich: Didn't like it very much. Thought it was kind of a throw-away episode. And a waste of Magic Man, who in the past has done really funny/cruel transformations, and has been one of the few enemies that Finn & Jake are basically powerless against. He also whispered "I'm not coming back" in the last episode he was in, and I know he's a liar, but I thought it kinda sucked that he just came back for a trivial reason in this episode.

The Vault: liked it a lot, and that's before I even realized that the Green Lady had appeared twice before. I do wonder how PB reconciles her disbelief in magic with her magic amulet; I guess she just assumes it's science she doesn't understand yet. I also wonder if all the other candy people are all hundreds of years old and PB hasn't been able to create any new citizens without that amulet. A lot of the creations she has made recently have turned out poorly: Goliad, Lemongrab(s), Zombie potion.

That would be a rather interesting episode. If they go into more detail about that particular amulet. Although I have a sneaky suspicion that the Lich is going to be the one that ends up somehow using it to get back to Ooo or some ******** like that.

Finn still has no luck with the ladies. He's getting shot down all the time now.

Finn: "Jeez, did I just get shown up by Cinnamon Bun?"

I'm wondering now if Finn x Flame Princess is going to happen. Cinnamom Bun deserves some lovin' too, I guess. And those would be some really sloppy seconds for Finn... I'm starting to wonder if maybe Finn will find the answer to the Humans' fate next season, and meet a working relationship with someone of his own species, but I don't think it's likely.

I'm looking forward to the next episode. More Simon/Ice King background reveal. Apparently he gets turned back into Simon and goes to find Betty, his girlfriend, or wife, what ever, revealed to be the "Princess" he subconsciously seeks out. I have only read the Synopsis, so I don't know how Betty would have survived as long as Simon has due to the immortality effects of the Crown.

I didn't catch the beginning of that episode but cinnamon bun was certainly not acting or talking like his usual self by the end of the show. I wouldn't be surprised if Finn has to come to FP's rescue later on.

He's been acting oddly (not.. stupid?) ever since he joined Fire Princess.

Come to think of it, wasn't he recently being used as a vessel for one of Peppermint Butler's dark rituals? Back in the episode where Princess Bubble Gum is finding a suitor? Maybe something is up with that..

And I'm all for FP and Finn getting back together. I'd prefer that over him finding a new interest.

Cinnamon Bun got zapped with some fire in the last scene, and it finished his baking. Prior to that, he was "half-baked," explaining his developmental disability.

However, even prior to that zapping, he had been gradually gaining cognitive ability. I thought he actually advanced too fast in this episode, and didn't like it that much. Although, I did like the fact that even as a simpleton, he could realize that Princess Bubblegum was of questionable ethics.

I did kinda have a new thought about the overarching plot. PB has increasingly been a ***** or slightly amoral, but she does have pragmatic/practical reasons for the actions she takes. It would be a cool twist if it was revealed that part of the reason why she's shut Finn down romantically is because she knows there is a human female out there, and she wants Finn to procreate with her and perpetuate the human species. Just a random thought...

I kind wish this show would just switch to a 30-minute format already. A lot of these episodes that aren't just a one-off whimsical episode could benefit from less rushed storytelling. And if they just want to do a short story, they can cut the 30-minute block in two and air two short episodes instead.

A note about "Betty": Even though we've seen many adult themes in Adventure Time already, it struck me that this episode had a character who was pleading for death, rather than live another eternity of tortured existence. Heavy stuff for a kids show. And Simon's request for euthenasia goes along with how his earlier backstory episodes were seemingly a metaphor for senility, and Marceline was tasked with letting go of her still-alive but no longer himself parental figure.

They did with "Jake the Dog" and "Finn the Human". Those were probably my two favorite episodes. Along with "The Lich" leading up to it. And I think the episode before that was "I Remember You".. I really enjoyed the song that the Ice King sung using the notes he left Marceline during his lucid moments as Simon.

Funny, over the Christmas break, I was sitting at my Grandmother's house and a few of my cousins, ranging from 5-7 years old or so were over, and Cartoon Network was on. Their mother came in and commented about them watching Adventure Time, I assumed she was making a comment about it being childish, her kids too old, etc because the episode on was the one with the kingdom of cats in boxes. I said "I'm 30, and I watch it." She explained that is what she meant, that it was more mature. She didn't stop her kids from watching it, but felt it was more for the teenage years.

3 Episodes, not much happening.

PB doesn't believe in magic, and since Simon was able to cast a spell to enable time travel, she tries to show that time travel is scientifically possible. Ends up doing it Primer style, but it also kind of teleports people to some alternate dimension that can watch the world when used incorrectly.

Then a two-parter, but it's above Lemonhope. Not really interesting in terms of the world of Adventure Time.

I think there is only one episode left in this season. About the hero Billy. Hope it offers more to the world.

I'm the only one that likes posting about this.

New season started up today.

Finn finally lost his arm. And it was his dead beat dad's fault. His cursed grass sword turned his arm into a large thorny trunk as he tried to stop his Father from escaping, and was ripped off as the crystal ship escaped through a void portal.

Turns out that Finn's father is a dead beat and a thief, Prismo was the dream of a sleeping old man, now deceased, and the Lich, embodiment of Death, is undone by a healing salve from the blood of some Crystal Guardians. Treetrunks and Mr. Pig now have a baby Lich to take care of. And I'm pretty sure that the baby Lich is voiced by the kid that does Catbug.

I was actually kind of thinking Lich would be Finn's dad. That would have been, well, a twist. Dunno about interesting. Steve Universe's dad is Finn's dad wasn't that interesting.

I did kind of expect as the guy Finn thought was his father was escaping, while the Lich was regenerating, that it would be a twist, and the guy would just be some random thief, and the Lich would regenerate into Finn's real father. But then Jake came around the corner carrying a baby horned thing.

I thought the Season 6 opener was amazing. Though I kinda wish I could have watched it without knowing that Finn was inevitably going to lose his arm, because it was easy to see it coming. (I learned about the ominous clues from reading the discussions on AV Club...I probably would have been oblivious to the clues otherwise).

It wasn't exactly a secret, or hidden. I can't see you being oblivious to them if you hadn't discussed them before.

They hinted back in like, the second season. And then around the middle of the fourth season they start up again.
I think it becomes really obvious about the time of the "Puhoy" episode in the fifth season.

I'm impatient... I want overall story progression. This week's episode with the Jameses was funny (Banana Guards vs Jameses), but as far as story progression goes, the only thing I could see coming out of this is having the Jameses come back at a later time as more zombie creatures from the past are revived. And somehow bringing the one gooped up James that was absorbed into he other Jameses into play.

Finn still harbors some resentment for his father, even after this episode. His manifested arm didn't really disappear. When he approached Jake at the end of the episode, his shadow still showed both arms intact.

That was great. I like that even though his arm grew back quickly, his mental health issues continue to realistically weigh on him - he still relies on supressing things in his vault.

Cartoon Network's new lineup has all the shows on Thursday afternoon starting at 6pm EST, all in a row. And then they replay them all in the same order on the same time slot on Sunday.

I'm not 100% sure why they moved all their shows to the same day in one big time chunk rather than spread out like they had before. Maybe they figured Thursday afternoon was relatively open on other networks?

Charter recently upgraded their cable lineup. Added a ton of HD channels, and made it so that if you tune into an SD channel on an HD box with HD TV, it automatically plays the HD channel. It's nice, but in doing so they renumbered most of the channels and moved them all around, I can't remember where half the **** is anymore, luckily the DVR remembered it all and automatically shifted channels.
