I haven't watched in a long while, but I do have some questions. What kind of cancer does Wilson have? Is it something that can be helped by an organ transplant? If so, I could see House committing suicide in order to give Wilson a chance.

Except if it were baby photos, it would be like looking at before and afters of Michael Jackson. Only instead of turning into a white guy, he changes into a chick!

I expect it to go down as follows. Wilson dies. Thirteen gets sick enough that House ends up fulfilling the promise he made to her and kills her. House gets drunk and goes to Cuddy for support. Cuddy calls the cops, who detain House overnight. House gets drunk again, burns down the hospital with him inside and while the place is burning around him he overdoses on Vicodin. Final episode is a closer one which explains what each of the important cast members are doing X months in the future.

Smiley: dubious

Anyway, I thought it was official that Cuddy won't be coming back, even for the finale.

Oh I didn't know about that. Shows how much I kept up with it after the previous season. Smiley: laugh

I stopped watching house after I realized that every episode followed the same exact plot skeleton;
Something weird happens to the patient
Someone harangs house into doing his job
House doesn't do his job, but has his team do it for him
His team bumbles around for a while, insert house telling them it's not autoimmune here
House hangs out with wilson who gives him **** for not doing his job
His team bumbles around some more, insert drama here
Someone does something really stupid
House has a sudden flash of brilliance and saves the patient from the previous bout of sudden onset stupidity

Every episode has it's own unique twists and turns for drama, but the skeleton plot of the main plot of the episode is almost always the same, and that realization killed it for me, because it's not the type of show where that sort of plot copypasta works Smiley: dubious

It isn't? That's the premise of the whole show. Hell, I'm pretty sure when the show first started up and they have those short blurbs telling you the plots of upcoming shows, it said something like "Grouchy, drug addicted, but brilliant doctor reluctantly saves patients when no one else can figure out what's wrong with them". They've pretty much delivered exactly what they promised. The fun of the show is to see just how far he'll go with it.

You don't watch much TV, do you?

I just finished watching Person of Interest. Really good show, IMO. But it's the same thing every week. Two "mysterious" guys find out about a civilian that's either in danger or about to commit a crime and they have to figure out which it is and either save them or stop them. There's always some kind of twist, and there's a couple of cops thrown in for good measure. Every. Single. Week.

But it's still a good show.

I don't watch much TV, no. Entirely because of the fact that recycled skeleton plots bore me, so the show either needs to do a good job hiding the skeleton plot it's recycling, or have something strong enough to override its presence, be that comedy, drama, or a really, really good story, otherwise it ends up being something I turn on and ignore while I'm doing something else.

Same reason why I don't like the horror or romance genre (ie: everything, TV, movies, books, what have you), honestly, because horror stuff is really @#%^ing bad about making the obvious recycling obvious so only the really, really good stuff is any fun for me to watch, and because there's only so much a romance story can do to distract from it, and most don't do it well enough for me to bother. And Romantic comedies are just @#%^ing played out and hollywood needs to stop spewing them out for a few years/a decade.

tl;dr: I'm way too @#%^ing picky.

Everything is recycled. Every story has been told before. Now things just get told again with a slightly different spin than the 709,823 times before them. Sometimes there are 2-3 stories combined, but it's still all the same.

But I'm ok with that. If I wanted something I had to think about, I wouldn't be watching TV. At least not for entertainment.

House goes back to jail.

But not for assaulting a dying patient, trying to strangle him to death with an IV line while his mother begged him to stop.

Instead, for flushing a torn up ticket down the drain and clogging the septic system of the hospital.

Ya...
