He said it to make you think.

You should also remember the CDC Guy. It's related*.

* I'm actually assuming it is related, as there were no mentions of scratches in the book, and ... well, pretty much all of the first season didn't happen in the book, so there was no CDC guy. So I'm just guessing that the end result is the product of these two events. Could just as easily be a "HA HA, FUCK YOU COMIC READERS WHO THOUGHT THEY KNEW WHERE THIS WAS GOING!" There's been plenty of that, what with Sophia being decidedly not dead in the book. And Andrea being decidedly more useful.

Not having read the comic, should I be looking closer into Shane's comment to Rick about the lack of bite marks on the two uniformed zombies? Or should I not read anything into that? I feel he said it for a reason. It just really stuck in my mind. Overall, another solid episode.

I've not read the books either, but I'm with you. That comment stuck out at me. I'm thinking they're going to go for an airborne infection angle, maybe.

You're close, depending on whether or not they go the comic book route or not.

Not a lot happened, again, but I'm assuming they're just building up the Shane/Rick showdown.

My husband likes to go on those spoiler sites and he's been checking out the next few episodes. Tonight he told me 2 major characters were going to die before the winter break. I picked Glen and the guy that bit it tonight. He didn't tell me if I was right about Glen, but I kinda knew I was right about the other, hehe. I wasn't really surprised, either.

Warning: Comic Nerdage - Knew it was going to happen, but like the rest of the series so far all involvement with Dale seems to be completely removed between comic and TV. I was hoping that they'd have brought his characterization up a notch, but nope. Kind of frustrating to keep myself from saying the why, but his death was a lot more substantial in the books. I think I mentioned it earlier, but I feel his entire character was ruined here. I guess he made an okay voice of reason.

Oh well, Carl is going to be an emotional wreck.

Yeah, about Carl... he's pissing me the hell off and maybe he should be the next one to go. Yeah, I said it. Stupid little punk-*** kid, he's going to get more of them killed.

Pretty sure, though not one hundred percent, it's just this week and next, then "probably" late October for Season 3 to start.

My brother said something about Shane's actor was going to be leaving the show. So I kind of knew it was going to happen, just didn't know how or exactly when. Obviously I haven't read any of the stuff, and the TV show is my only exposure.

Edit:
Pretty much confirmed that what ever virus or infection is causing the zombies, it exists in everyone now, and just dying causes them to turn. Just wondering if/when the characters will realize that.

I picked up The Walking Dead Compendium One (first 8 chapters) last weekend and Chapter 9 this weekend. I'm loving it so far, very different from the show but with some similarities. I hope they start heading for the prison this next episode. Looking forward to Michonne and the Governor story lines. Season 3 could be epic.

I've pretty much decided in my mind, after reading the comic, that if Glen and Maggie die together they won't come back as zombies. They'll come back as rabbits. Smiley: sly

The worst part of the show is having to keep my trap shut about spoilers. Luckily the show is just different enough to where people that read the books can enjoy it without feeling bored by knowing what's coming, but they seem to add in just enough to make a fan appreciative of the little touches. Like Carl taking out Walker-Shane. That was a good touch. Next week should be a slaughter-fest, and I'm going with an evacuation which leads to Season 3 and possibly the Jail arc.

I kind of curious how it's going to go. The end of the Jail arc is about nine months in the future of where the storyline is currently. I'm curious if they're going to do a lot of time lapses, or if they're just going to do something different all together or what. Either way, I'm looking forward to Michonne and the Governor, though I admit with how useful women have been so far in the series I worry about Michonne.

The fanboy in me creamed his pants in delight at Michonne. Sword, check. Armless zombies on leashes, check. Hooded cloak, check. I'm happy. That was an amazing character introduction.

Anyway, now that the cat is out of the bag as far as the infection is concerned, I'll just point out the title of the book/show isn't about the zombies. Kind of interesting. Also some more terminology that impressed me, since the label doesn't appear until way later in the series. A herd is what happens when one zombie starts walking, and then other zombies follow lemming like and soon you have hundreds of them.

As I was writing that, they showed The Jail and my inner fanboy ruined another pair of pants.

Anyway, I was pretty wrong about my predictions. I kind of figured Herschel would have bitten it, no pun intended, and I was about to write the series off when Andrea was abandoned. She's been, pretty much, the most useful female in the show, and I'll go as far as say she really is the most useful in the book. Also, Rick is starting to slip into his leader-esque role. I still had no idea who the hell that was in the Winnebago until the end. I actually forgot about him. Smiley: laugh

The Fall can't get here soon enough. Between showing the Jail and Michonne ... they know how to keep you wanting to watch. Smiley: mad

Posting this because I'm annoyed that they're showing The Talking Dead before Comic Book Men and need a distraction. I really can't stand this show.

Oh, and I'm going to miss Shane. He was such a minor character in the book, but he really came into his own in the show and I found myself agreeing with him much more than with Rick. Can't wait for Season 3. Can not wait.

Very impressed with this finale. I didn't realize that Andrea got saved by a woman until I watched Talking Dead, since I never read the comic. They had a couple of the writers on and they said Michonne has figured out "the system" of this new world.

Yeah, I'm pretty stoked for next season.

And I still want Carl to die.

I admit, I did a fist pump when Michonne appeared. That was so cool. And then to show the prison, oh yeah! The only thing that could've made Rick's speech better would be the "We are the walking dead!" line from the comic. It makes a lot more sense now.

Speaking of the comic, I still need to get caught up. Went to the comic shop on Saturday but they were sold out of the next chapter I need. I was told it'll be in mid-week, so just a minor setback. At least I have that to help me get through the wait until next season. Is still going be a long one though. Season 3 can't get here soon enough.

The actress playing Michonne will be http://http://www.imdb.com/name/nm1775091/

It would have been an amazing time for that line, and I'm disappointed in myself for not remembering it. Though, it would be a great line for the season opener as well. I'm betting it'll be October 31st, just for the record.

I'm still stoked about Michonne's brief appearance.
