And in case anyone forgot, Steins; Gate is still freaking amazing. Seriously, it might be the best series I've seen since Higurashi (roughly the same genre, horror/psychological/mystery, but with a lot less gore).

I thought they called that genre "Mind *****" instead?

That's a bit more like the uncle you wish wouldn't show up every holiday and drink all the alcohol in the house then go on drunken rants about "those damn liberals." He's going to be there every time whether you want him there or not, but you don't call Christmas "Uncle Jimmy's 'drink the pain away'" night.

No, I mean it's a TV Trope genre.

If someone drunk all the alcohol in my house they wouldn't live past that day.

No. 6 is such a ghastly train wreck. Baby breast feeding form a dog in episode 10 and Sion goes through a completely spontaneous personality change that barely makes sense. Also they have one episode left to explain the entire (-ly ignored) conspiracy plot they've set up, good luck on pulling that together.

That's what season 2 is for! Actually, even I agree with you about No. 6 at this point.

The ending of Pengiundrum makes a lot more sense after the last episode. I bet we see a repeat of Utena and the Librarian sleeps with everyone.

From Steins;Gate's success, I just had to check out Chaos;Head since I've given up on many other shows this season. While the two are not related by story, I can definitely see similar elements between the two. It amuses me that the first opening of each series was performed by the same person.

Welp, No. 6 gave me one of the worst endings I've seen in quite some time. Overall rated a 3, but only that high because the beginning was so tolerable.

Penguindrum ramping up the plot considerably; fabulous max. I haven't figured out the arching theme to the show yet, but I'm sure we've been provided enough clues. Speculation: I'm not entirely certain what the motif of red and blue means. It's clearly ever present, in shouma and knbas hair, in Hiumari's friends, and also oddly in himari and herself in teh scnee showing her with her fated person (Himari's shoes were red and his were blue). It seems Mario might be her fated person based on his appearance. In teh first episode we see Himari kissing kanba, which I assumed was granting him a power similar to Masako's, which seems to be more likely with the appearance of Mario. I'm very uncertain about why Himari is expressing romantic feeligns towards Kanba, and it may be that none of the three are actually siblings, but have been trapped in an illusionary state due to certain events.

Need to watch the latest episodes after work today >_<

Based off this topic I watched all of Chaos;Head this week. Don't bother. It started off with a lot of potential (if a completely unlikable main character); the main character is a social pariah who has strong delusions, and is never sure what's real and what's not. I liked that; it could be really good. He walks onto a murder scene and of course has no idea if it's real or not... turns out it was. But as the series progressed it came to light that people can turn their delusions into reality; the main character's delusions start to become more and more true. By the end, he overcomes his crippling social phobia, somehow learns to wield a sword made from his imagination, and saves the day. Gets the girl, recovers an entire city from an earthquake, etc. etc. It would be like if Higurashi ended up with the happy ending without all the pain in between.

Ideally, the entire thing should have been in his head. He gradually goes more and more insane, and while there is actually a murderer on the loose, there isn't a company turning delusions into reality; he just thinks there is. Again, ideally, I think it would be awesome if he ends up confronting the murderer, but in the end he's still insane.

Maybe I'm too dark when it comes to stuff like this Smiley: lol

All I hope it that Steins;Gate ends up a lot better than Chaos;Head. So far the series has been really great, whereas Chaos;Head started to get pretty "Meh" near the end. Hoping for a strong ending.

Chaos;Head was nothing special, as you said. I hadn't finished it when I mentioned it, otherwise would have warned you. Steins;Gate is absolutely amazing, it can't even compare to Chaos;Head.

Just watched the end; yes, Steins;Gate was fantastic. Perfect ending too, even if it was a happy one and they explained everything. definitely one of my new favorite series Smiley: grin

Don't touch the spoiler button, it's so shocking, you won't even believe that it's true until you see the ending for yourself. Seriously, that NEVER happens in an anime.
