I finally got around to watching the show. I got pretty emotional about Kurt's dad.

My only issue with the singing was Mercedes's song in the church. Her voice isn't that high.

Continuing my trend of starting to watch the episode a few minutes late, I missed the very beginning (SpoilerPuck is in jail WHAT?). I really enjoyed it besides that though. Sam's song was really cute, or as Santana said "Freaking adorable." I liked Santana getting to sing again, although the dance moves... eh... Mike and Tina did a great dance number and it was really cute too. I wonder if he really does have an absolutely terrible voice, though, and some of her notes seemed really off. Kurt's song and dance were... creepy. I can't really describe it other than that. Maybe if I had seen what it was from I'd like it more, but as it was all I could think was "You ruined a tuxedo... maybe 2... for this? Really?"

As far as the episode went...

Is Sam gay? I really thought he was going to be Kurt's boyfriend... still kinda think that... but...
On the same vein, it makes me feel sorry for SpoilerQuinn if Sam is gay, as she's getting jerked around.
Also, I'm starting to think that sex is deliberately portrayed as bad in Glee. Sorry if it's a duh moment, but both SpoilerArtie and Finn had terrible first-time sexual experiences... or at least terrible feelings immediately after, Quinn got pregnant, Terri fakes being pregnant, etc etc. We really haven't had any good examples of "successful" sexual relationships in Glee. It's basically, if you have sex, bad things happen.

Also, I totally went "awwww :-(" with Brittany and the meatball at the end. My girlfriend went "Ew!" Apparently I find sticking your face in food cute and she finds it gross!

Why is this? I mean, there are obviously risks for having high schoolers sexing each other up, but Glee is goofy to the point of being over-the-top quite often so the only argument for this I could think of ("Kids watch this show!") seems moot. The show itself has a lot of mature themes already. They've had pot, booze, bullying, teenage pregnancy, homophobia, getting high on laughing gas, ************* Sex has been portrayed too, but the results always seem negative.




ME TOO! RHPS is awesome. SpoilerSam as Rocky, Finn as Brad? YES! My girlfriend hasn't seen the musical yet though... I need to see if there's a midnight showing around Gainesville...

Ah, Rocky Horror. Unlike usual, I managed to watch the entire Glee episode without missing the first 5-10 minutes. Huzzah!

Music: Pretty good overall. I actually really enjoyed SpoilerMercedes' take on Frank. Sang the Sweet Transvestite song really well, despite cutting out the "Transexual" word. Time Warp was really awesome. John Stamos did a pretty good job on his song. While I liked Touch-a touch-a Touch-Me, I feel like Emma has the weakest voice. Dammit, Janet was good, but I felt the dance moves were a little too hectic.

RHPS: I found myself cringing every time they changed lines. Some really seemed... unnecessary. Touch-a changed some that seemed pretty tame, but even then it still pushed the limit a bit in how much they could show on TV, IMO. If I had never seen RHPS I think I would have hated this episode. I think Will explained it really well at the end - it is, after all, a cult hit. Lots of people won't like it. And while I understand editing it a bit for cable... eh, it just kinda took away that magic the original had. Still sang along with almost every song, though!

Characters: WILL IS A DOUCHE. That was the over-arching theme I took away from it. Even at the end, when he was "apologizing," he acted like a total jerk... "our feelings for each other..." GET OVER IT. He reminds me of a teenager himself. Sue's lines, as always, were pretty funny. Sam was a bit more hardcore in his mentality than that I had hoped for, and I was really hoping he would have had more screentime in the play. Kurt was a freaking awesome Riff Raff.

Overall? I enjoyed it. Not going to make my top 3 episodes, but maybe sneaks in as number 5.

See, "heavy petting" seems really tame to me. It's quite the dated term - perhaps it was more edgy in the 70s, but heavy petting is hardly the bees' knees now.

I thought her character was PERFECT for the song. Singing-wise... eh... but then again, not like Susan Sarandon's voice was fantastic either.

I was thinking more to make the song make sense, but I was tired when I wrote that. I can't remember exactly what they changed it to.

They appear to be showing this in Oz one week behind the Americans.

Those word substitutions seem really unnecessary when they recently had a lesbian necking scene on a bed, with the inference that more than just necking happened between the two.

I found his body more appealing than the kid that was originally Rocky.

I thought their rendition of Dammit, Janet was good. The rest was meh.

And how can you have Meat Loaf do a cameo in a a Rocky Horror episode & NOT have him sing SOMETHING?!
