Need recommendations. I spend two hours a day riding public transit and work at a job that gives me anywhere between 30 minutes to 2 hours of reading between calls.

Recent things I have read (in some cases reread):
Marvel Zombies 1, 2, 3, Dead Days. 3 was horrible imo.
Marvel Civil War the first 3, need to get the last book.
Marvel Annihilation 1, 2 (need 3 yet).
Venom and Carnage.
Maximum Carnage.
Infinity Gauntlet.
Infinity War.
House of M (the first and Spiderman House of M).
A big book with the first 40 FF comics.
Promethia 1-5.
Top 10.
Bleach.
Death Note.
Battle Royale.
The Walking Dead 1-9 (so far).

That's pretty much what I've cracked open so far since starting my job Nov 30th. Interspersed within being a couple of novels. Also (and yes I know how to use google) don't suppose anyone can recommend a good ebook reader for PSP that will show manga decently sized, or at least give the option to scroll up and down?

My tastes are wide and varied and will give anything at least a once over, assuming it's obtainable through my library system (of which they have an extraordinarily large selection available). Any suggestions repayed with rate-ups and the thanks of a bored call center lemming.

Edit: Just about to start Ultimate Galactus. Is there a collection of the "What If?" comics?

OH! I also really enjoyed Marvels.

The Walking Dead is up to about 70, and it continues to be worth the read. Sometimes you see what is coming, and sometimes its just completely out of the blue. If you're looking for a long-*** series (as far as comic books go), Dark Reign has been going on forever and I'm pretty sure its concluded, now that Siege is starting. If you don't want to read that many, I'm partial towards Dark Reign Spider-Man and Dark Reign Hawkeye. Of course, Deadpool is always worth a few chuckles, but he's currently obtained Wolverine's secondary mutation where he appears in 14 books a month. Kick-*** and Empowered are good as well.

I'm also pretty partial towards Amazing Spider-man, and if some of the teaser images in the last issue are to be believed it looks like they're going to (thankfully) ret-con one of the biggest mistakes the series made during Civil War so I'm happy about that. The recent issue with The Rhino was pretty damn amazing in my opinion. I'm a huge Spidy mark. Smiley: blush

I've never been a fan of the Ultimate Universe, and "What If" was a pretty extensive series during the early 90s. Another I wasn't much of a fan of either.

Manga2PSP and Comic2PSP are good, for what it's worth. I stopped using, though.

Many, many thanks!

Yeah I need to read Deadpool. The one part where he pops up in Marvel Zombies 3 was the only part of the book I enjoyed. I will have to check out Dark Reign. I'm currently waiting on Sandman vol2 at the moment. Do you have a subscription to Marvels site to read their comics online? Are The Stand comics worth a look? What about The Gunslinger (I read the first 7 comic arc)?

As for The Walking Dead...

JESUS CHRIST IS NO CHARACTER SACRED IN THESE BOOKS EXCEPT RICK?!?!?!? Like I said, I just finished reading 9 and my jaw dropped when his wife and daughter died.

Blackest Nights is what I'm still reading (really need to sit down and try to finish what is out).

Wizard of Oz wasn't too bad. The 1st part is done, with the 2nd part in the 2nd or 3rd issue.

I like the WoW comic, but seeing you play FFXI you may not know what is going on (or you might, it isn't really linked to the WoW game).

Invincible is really well done & it's written by Robert Kirkman who also writes The Walking Dead.

Y: The Last Man has been done awhile, but it was pretty awesome.

The recent run of Captain America has been really good too.

Skip Beat! is surprisingly addictive. I think the official version is out to around volume 10 or so.

I second Y: The Last Man. Great series.

"Y" spoilers:
Am I the only one who thought that the series would have been so much better had it ended one issue earlier? That last issue was really stupid and pointless. I guess it was probably meant as an epilogue, but personally I thought it was stupid and meaningless and would have been happier if it wasn't there (much like the last episode of the Mahoromatic anime.)

Personal favorite series: Fables from Vertigo (DC's graphic novel label); Hellboy and BPRD (from Dark Horse); Sandman (also from Vertigo). I also used to read Hellblazer (I think; it's the one that Constantine movie with Keanu Reaves was based on), but I stopped a few years ago due to lack of monies.

Favorite stand-alones: V for Vendetta, Watchmen, and pretty much anything else by Alan Moore. If you liked Buffy the Vampire Slayer and/or Angel, Joss Whedon's got graphic novels continuing both series' respective plotlines; he also has Fray, a futuristic sci-fi adventure set in the Buffy-verse (which is one of my favorite graphic novels ever).

As for manga, I'm definitely not a prolific manga reader, so I can't offer too much there. I do read Lone Wolf and Cub, though. It's about as old as you can get and still be considered manga, but it's incredibly good.

If you are getting comics through your library, I'd suggest just checking out everything they have. If you don't like it, it's not like it cost you anything, and you might be surprised at what you enjoy...

Personally, I don't think he's that well off, considering all the things that happen to him. I don't think I'd make it nearly as far as he has without snapping. Which is why I like the series so much. The people seem so real in it. Just an FYI on this series specifically, there is supposed to be a TV Series based on it on AMC.
