My mind is giving me problems, so I'm hoping someone can help me. I am thinking of an animated movie (I think it was a movie... either a movie or only a few episodes...). The movie starts out with a high school guy getting a new girlfriend. Some incident occurs and the girl makes a decision to become a robot to protect the city she is from. As the show goes on, she becomes more and more robotic and by the end of the movie, she has control over a giant self-defense system.
Even though the girl does a lot of fighting, it is rarely shown and the plot focuses more on the guy and how he perceives the world around him and his girlfriend.
Any help is most appreciated.
