Chuck is an action-comedy television program from the United States created by Josh Schwartz and Chris Fedak. The series is about an "average computer-whiz-next-door" who receives an encoded e-mail from an old college friend now working in the CIA; the message embeds the only remaining copy of the world's greatest spy secrets into Chuck's brain
I really enjoyed the first two seasons of the show. It's really silly, but really fun; there's an awesome juxtaposition of the mundane nerdy "Nerd Herd" (ie, Geek Squad) lifestyle with the action-filled world of a spy. The characters are pretty likable, the comedy is top-notch, and while most of the situations are ridiculous and the good guys always seem to win, it's fun to watch. Also, the main theme song is "Short Skirt, Long Jacket," by Cake, which is awesome. Besides Glee and Dexter, it is the only TV I watch (I fell out with Heroes after college).
The season 3 premiere aired last night in a 2-hour special (actually just seemed like 2 normal episodes to me, but still...). It was good, but... not great. I was pretty disappointed. Last season wrapped up amazingly well; Chuck's sister and her longtime boyfriend got married; his best friend, Morgan, moved to Hawaii with his girlfriend; and Chuck quit his job to run away with Sarah. And the Intersect 2.0 got downloaded into his head, making him not only know the CIA secrets, but all these other skills as well. "I know kung fu!" was an amazing ending line that had me literally LOLing for a good couple of minutes. The start of this season is just like a total reset; Chuck and Sarah are off-again, Morgan comes back, the Ellie and Awesome are still around, and Chuck gets his old job back. Now granted it's awesome to have the Buy More crew back in the picture, it really feels like the same ol' recipe is going to get tiresome. There's another new episode tonight at 8 at the normal time, so we'll see how that feels.
Anyone else watch?
