Doesn't it irritate you when an otherwise normal lead character suddenly shows up in a bear costume? You know what I'm talking about. Shuichi Shindou from Gravitation. My ******* God, you annoy me.

They pulled it off pretty well in FMP Fumoffu.
In Shuichi's case, I wouldn't put anything past him. Bear costume, girl's school uniform . . . he'll probably do something even wackier like a Brazilian Carnival costume without blinking.

It happens more than it would in real life. It's also my mixed feelings about the use of superdeformed characters.

In Vandread there was a character that stayed in a bear costume for just about the entire two seasons, because she hated men and didn't want any men to touch her.
