For those of you who enjoyed the Hellraiser movies, talk of a remake has been being tossed around, and here is some of the most recent news.

Hellraiser Seeks New Directors
Is Pinhead's re-birth officially doomed?

April 7, 2008 - Hell hath no fury like directors scorned. And with that comes word that Inside directors Alexandre Bustillo and Julien Maury are officially off the upcoming Hellraiser remake.

The report on Bloody Disgusting claims no official reasons have been cited by Dimension and it's not yet clear whether the pair will remain on in a producing capacity. Details are still forthcoming, but Dimension is now officially out to other directors to take up the reigns on the re-imagined Pinhead.

Stay tuned to IGN for more as it develops!

From the sounds of it, the studios are looking into hiring directors from Saw the movies, which doesn't make me much of a happy panda. So, what are your guys' views and comments?

It kind of fits with the huge amount of remakes recently. I believe Nightmare on Elm Street is being remade as well.

Not that many remakes are as good as the original.

As for the director being the Saw director, the first Hellraiser was fairly vague concerning Pinhead and the others of his dimension, keeping it all a bit hidden (much like the first Nightmare on Elm Street), I doubt he'ld keep it that way. I don't see how that would be a good thing though.

I agree. Though one of the highlights of the Hellraiser series is the gore, I'm afraid that they would stray from Pinhead and his kind of intimidating yet bargainable visage and just complete focus on the gore and sado-masochism.
