Would anyone be interested in picking a book every couple of weeks or so to read together/discuss? :D

Tried this before on my home forum (=60), but there just wasn't enough of us :(

Would you be in said book club? If so, fuck no. Would we have to like, buy the books? Smiley: laugh I just picked up the Children of Hurin so let's see how it turns out. I'm going in with extremely low expectations.

Yes I would be you silly duck :P Well I suppose you wouldn't HAVE to buy the book if you can find a free pdf or msreader version to download. I figure we would throw out a few ideas vote.

Well I'm always willing to try. As it is a bit difficult for me to get every book here, in a small town in Holland (No SF or Fantasy book store, some books are released way later here then in the US if all. Still need to find anything from Salvatore here). And I'm not on a very regular basis in any big cities like Amsterdam to pick them up.

I am reading the Silmarillion again before I start in Children of Hurin. I am looking forward to start in that book, but we will see I guess.

If I joined could we all start with books that I own and have read? I'm going to be poor when I get back from America Smiley: lol

I could not get into the Silmarillion at all. To me the book was so fragmented that it was nearly impossible for me to keep all the characters straight. But I think what Cami suggested with the free pdf's we could definitely do to help out GieG in case you're not able to pick up the book.

How would we go about picking books though? I would be up for it if you guys wanted to give it a shot.

I was thinking we (whoever is interested over the next 2-4 days) could throw out a title that they have been thinking about reading (I'm not picky btw, I'll read anything) then I'll post a poll for like 48 hours. We read that book, the more popular or older the book is the easier it is to find via pdf btw. Any other suggestions on how this could run is very welcome :D

I take offense to this statement. :P

I'll second the book, Cami. I haven't read it yet and it seems interesting. Different, but interesting.
