This thread has been up for a while, so I thought I would put this up now while I had a chance LOL

For anybody who hasen't read the "Song of Ice and Fire" series, you should pick it up. He has a habbit of killing off main charecters. Veary interesting read, same war, 7 diferent angels. After book 3, I still have no idea who the "Main Character" is, but I deffenetly have my favorites. But serriously, you'll read it, get into the story, THEM BAM!!! HE KILLES SOMEBODY YOU THOUGHT TO BE IMPORTANT!!!!!

Dude, John Snow is a bad ass. : ) Bran Stark, I believe, is going to have some great moments later on. With as much fantasy that I've read, it seams that Bran is going to be worth alot later on. And the beautiful Daenerys, She is going to have a bad ass army. SO, I can see that her army after the war's will be the only one big enough to withstand the Others. She will halt her war, wanting to protect everybody she can (You know her), and that will introduce her to John Snow. Of corse John can't do anything about it, his oath and everything. However, it means that John might become a General in her army, being that he has the most knoledge about the lay of the land, enemy army, and the most knoledge about how to fight Others. And, oddly enough, Bran just went "Somewhere" realy close to them. I can see him on Hodo's back being a great fighter. And also, when he get's older, it's possible that he can better hold on to "What he's holding", but maybe even do multiple Holds. And John know's him so well, of course Bran "Is a high ranking Stark", so naturally he will be treated as such. Now Catelyn is the one to look out for. I would love to see her future part, cause I have honestly no idea where she could go from "Where she is". (Trying not to spoil it for people who haven't read it lmao)

Please write back, I know he might have a message board so I can collaborate with other's : )

Hmmm, I keep forgetting about Arya. I hope she find's her wolf. But if you remember, the end of book 3, she leaves the hound... I think she's going to go study how to be a fighter, and come back in the story a bit later. I can see her going on her own little adventure.

As for John, I don't think he'll "Forsake" his oath, but he might sleep with her. : ) But, it's also possible that Daenerys will gather in more people to help her, like nations. Once they see the dangerous threat. I can see the people "Giveing" her the crown, because she's a Targaryan (sp?) and isn't crazy LOL (Or, she will take it by force, she will be queen lmao)

Also, something else to give you a thought, there are Dragons in the world now... Do you think that when magic comes back more, the Direwolf's will help John, Bran and Arya have, "Special Powers" or something. Not actuall magic (Maybe, you never know), but more than anybody else can do. We've already seen it a bit with the "Wolf Dreams" and further on with Bran. I think it exploded in Bran so much because of his fall. His body coulden't do what it should, so his mind advanced the process to compensate. . . : )

Strange thought. Daenerys has 3 dragons. The Starks, John (Kind of), Bran, and Arya have 3 direwolf's. I believe all 3 will join up, and I can see the Dragon fighting beside the Direwolf. But with 3 diferent start's, I think there is going to be 3 or more great endings to that character.

And I know that somehow, Tyrion will survive what he's going through. But I think that he is going to be sent to the Wall. Makeing him in the direct fight. And I think that is where he should be anyway. Cause, let's face it, he's smart as hell. And he know's battles a lot better than John and Daenerys do.

But I'm kind of worried about Sansa. I have no idea what's going to happen to her.

That's about how I think of her. I have no idea what she would do, I would imagine she would want to be with her family though. And Tyrion will most likely end up at the Wall eventually, but she is a mystery I don't care to know about honestly.

I can guarentee I'm going to get the hard back book. I'm already planning on owning a copy of the 6th Harry Potter books. If you haven't read all 5, I sugest you start. Book's 1-2-3 are alright, but 4-5 were amazing. Great plot twists.

As for A Song of Ice and Fire, do you have any idea when it's going to be released? I haven't heard any dates yet.

I also need to get Terry Goodkind's newest book, and eagerly anticipating the next Robert Jordan book. I still have high hopes for Jordan's series. If he would bring it to an end some time soon. ^^

July 26th huh... That's not that bad of a wait. And from what the reviews stated, it would seam that Martin comes through and dosen't let anybody down at all.

As for the Potter serries, if you read like I do, you can have the entire series done in 2-3 weeks. Realy fast read, and realy enjoyable to. 1-3 is so-so, but 4-5 are bad ass.

Maybe I'll pick up the Haydons books when I get done with Goodkind's next book. (Whenever I can buy it that is... ; ;)

Definitely gets ya worked up. How many times have you guys thrown one of the books? I have chucked the books twice.

Once when i realized what was really going on at the wedding and once when Arya got the blunt side of the Hound's axe... I thought she got the sharp side.

I personally find the killing off of so many 'main' characters by Martin to be a bit annoying, I prefer being able to get into a character and follow them throughout a series, that's really personal preference though. I like Martin overall though and find the plot to be rather twisted and interesting and the constant switching of views makes for a more exciting read.

Brooks is decent but I really disliked the massive shift in the newer versions where the original series he made is basically ancient history, he literally turns the world upside down in comparison to the earlier novels and I really dislike that there's no books joining the series timeline wise to give some continuity to it. With all the changes that take place it's really harder to follow when going by what you know from earlier books, just doesn't flesh it out really well in my opinion.

I actually like Goodkind's Sword of Truth series a lot, although it reminds me a lot of the Wheel of Time, very similiar main characters in my opinion and there are a lot of ties between the two, feels that way when reading it.

I used to thoroughly enjoy Jordan's Wheel of Time but I think he's become a complete sell-out in at least the last 3 books in the series. Look at the most recent, how much actually happens in the 500-700 odd pages of the book? There's very little plot progression and if you go by his earlier novels I think the newer books would only take up a few chapters worth if he wrote in the same style. I just find it depressing to read through 500 pages and feel like most of it is useless garbage, I mean in the most recent book think about how many people are actually killed in any kind of combat and compare that to every other book, I think you can count the number of them on one hand and they are all, I think (been awhile since I read it), just random nobodies that don't even matter.

My current favorite however is Raymond Feist, his series is an excellent long drawn out chronology, has a nice blend of new and old characters and has great continuity while still progressing forward at a good rate.

Release date

Still a long wait, I believe postponed again too as I recall seeing a release date for Semptember at one time too.


Anyway, it'll be released soon and I'm quite anxious to find out how exactly it continues.

Apparently, there are going to be at least 3 more parts after the next one? Not sure, but read somewhere that there are going to be 7 parts in total?

My only problem with the series is that Martin is killing of my more liked characters, I wouldn't have had a problem if Samwell for instance died but that's just me.

Edited to add: whilst checking out the link, I noticed that the next part after a Feast for Crows is already mentioned: A dance with Dragons. Said to be released in February 2007. Now that's another long wait :(

Adore Arya, Tyrion, Jaime and Jaqen. Even like the Hound. :)
Catelyn really got on my nerves, and the Red Wedding drove me crazy with disbelief.

This author sure knows how to emotionally control his readers.
Goddamn him, where is Jaqen? :X

For killing off main characters...I don't mind that he does it. What I absolutely hate though are all of the fake deaths where he wants you to think a character is dead when they aren't. This sucks because you start to assume that any time he kills someone they aren't dead and it loses any emotional impact it would have had.
