I'll give it an episode. Never really had a problem with Seann William Scott, though I really liked Crawford in the role.

Lucifer: If that's where the series will end, then... Smiley: rolleyes. After word of it not getting renewed, seems they were just going all out for the last episode. Now she believes everything. "Oh, Pierce is the bad guy, Lucifer is right, and he's got a Devil face."

That was a disappointing place to leave things. It's like they had ten minutes to write a new script. Also disappointing in that Lethal Weapon that Seann William Scott is going to be Murtough's other secret brother. Now I feel even less enthused by the idea.

Bohemian Rhapsody trailer, or a series of clips and a few bars of every Queen song you know wrapped up in one.

Too bad about The Expanse getting the axe. The second season was hit and miss, but the third season has been pretty solid so far. I hope they don't end it on a cliffhanger that will never get resolved.

The rumor I heard was that they were releasing it, so that if another network wanted to pick it up, they could. Not sure if that's good or bad news though, since it does increase the chance that we'll get an unresolved story (or a resolved one that a new network tries to glue some more stuff on top of). We'll see. It is a really good show though. Does a great job with the era of space travel it's set in.

Legion: Sudden jump there. David, teleporting, changing "reality". When his "Red Room" interaction with the Giant Ptonomy-Delusion Chicken-Cricket began I rolled my eyes. But as the interaction went on I grew to like it, thought it was pretty funny.

Farouk interacting with Future-Syd has further cemented my belief that this show is taking place inside of David's mind. I'm thinking Future-Syd's future is a place where Farouk was defeated by David, but in doing so, David is freed from the madness and eventually figures it all out, threatening the reality that is the world.

Vermillions are kind of creepy. Ptonomy lifts his blankets to find one of the Vermillions crawling up... Oh, and Two-Face Guy's (I forgot his name) Red Light Green Light Delusion interaction with the three was good.

The next CW-crossover has been revealed, and they'll be introducing Kathy Kane, the original (then exiled for fifty years, then reintroduced and repurposed for modern times ...) Batwoman. According to Stephen Amell:
Stephen Amell wrote:
We're incredibly excited to announce that we'll be doing another crossover event this fall on The CW, and we'll be introducing a new character. For the very first time appearing, we'll be fighting alongside Batwoman, which is terrific. The crossover is going to make it to air in December. I need to leave right now and start filming it.
I'm guessing that Black Lightning is popular enough and new enough on it's own to not need to get dragged into this.

Gotham went from Killing Joke to No Man's Land in the span of two episodes, which is mildly amusing. Stoic Not!Joker less so.

A trailer for a movie with Melissa McCarthy and someone with a hand literally shoved up his keister, as cops. Actually a lot more entertaining then the idea of Melissa McCarthy in yet another movie.

I watched Deadpool 2 today. It's a solid sequel. Some people are saying that they like it better than the first, I'd say that I like them about the same. Some solid comedy, strong action scenes with some very graphic violence, not a terribly complicated story, but it gets the job done. Some surprise characters show up that no trailer even hinted at, which is nice. Speaking of trailers, a good number of the jokes in the trailers aren't the same in the movie, which is a nice change of pace from most movies.

There are two mid credit scenes. The first one leads into the second. The second one is probably one of the best credit scenes ever. After that second scene there is an amusing song right at the end of the credits, but it can easily be skipped if you don't want to wait.

I don't know if it's a must see in theaters, but if you liked the first movie, you should like this one too.

I want to see it, but I've been preoccupied. Maybe this weekend.

Word on the tubes is that Jake Gyllenhaal is in talks to play Mysterio in the next Spider-Man movie. I wanted Bruce Campbell, so no casting is going to live up to that headcanon theory that his playing multiple characters in the original trilogy was just him doing the Mysterio thing.

Agents of SHIELD's was pretty neat. Poots launching Talbot into the sun was way funnier than it deserved to be. Should have shown some people turning to dust at the very least, but I can honestly say that if I didn't know there was already a next season in the works I'd be okay with this episode being the series finale. Coulson got a happy end, Broken Fitz died but there's a Fitz-in-a-Box in space that can bring him back should the need arise. Alls well and what what.

Westworld: Shoganworld, with Paint it Black, Another One Bites The Dust, and C.R.E.A.M. (Cash Rules Everything Around Me, Wu-Tang) covers. I love this show. Smiley: thumbsup Maeve is becoming a god, and it's just all types of great.

Supergirl's "They only pulled a gun on me cause I'm Black" routine would have been more believable if the CW-Flarrow-verse hadn't spent the last 6 years building up a world filled with Authorities that distrust vigilantes in general.

But stuff like that has never stopped Supergirl from making social commentaries. ("Don't touch women without their permission" as a bouncer tries to escort her out of an area she's not allowed to be)

Just the fact he's wearing exo-armor in a city that regularly gets attacked by people in exo-armor should have factored into his reaction. That bouncer episode was still the worst, though.

Flash: I kept expecting the girl-speedster to be Joe's daughter. And kept waiting for the baby to do speedforce flashy eyes. I'm a bit disappointed that they are opening another messed-up timeline thing with Barry and Iris's daughter.

The Terror overall wasn't worth it. And I don't think another season will be coming. If it does, I won't be tuning in.

I knew that the song in Westworld was something, but didn't know what. I had to look up "Westworld Geisha Dance Song" and got the CREAM hit. Was never a fan of Wu Tang, and looked up the original song and didn't recognize it at all. Except that Piano in the background (which was the covered part).

Legion... apparently is longer than 8 episodes. As this wasn't the finale and next week's episode also doesn't mention Finale.

Did JJ Abrams direct the first half of the episode? It was like ALL ******* LENS FLARES.

I kind of figure the new Flashpoint RenamedDawn Allen created was that Barry wasn't supposed to survive punching the satellite like he did. I'm a little annoyed that they changed the daughter's name just to play the "no one guessed right!" card at the end. Eat me CW, that's still Dawn Allen, and I'll bet her twin brother Don shows up next season, but renamed Henry or Harry just to pretend there's some kind of mystery going on.

The whole sequence with Paint it Black was great. My first thought when I heard it was "Didn't they already use this song?". Then it was like... Oh. OH! The first couple episodes of this season were a bit disjointed and slow, but it's seriously picking up now. Lots of threads to follow, and they're all pretty interesting. Oddly, the one that we might assume is the main one (Dolores' story), is the least interesting so far. But that may change. We'll see. In any case, I'm really enjoying season 2 at this point.

Deadpool 2 was fun. Obviously you're not going to recreate the surprise element of the first movie but they did a solid job and it was funny and had its mix of action, comedy and 4th wall genre mocking. Like Turin said, it's not necessarily a "must see" on the big screen but, if you liked the first, then you probably won't regret seeing this one.

Krypton. I'm not sure if that was the finale. It wasn't labelled as such on my recording, but it is also not on next week (but next week is kind of a holiday week, could be a break). But it does seem like it would be a good spot to leave it for a season finale. Superman's cape switching from the House of El to the House of Zod. Kneel Before Zod. And then Doomsday breaking out of his Stasis.

I started getting caught up on Arrow. Eight episodes, watched five of them. There was one scene that was nothing but Oliver and Diggle standing in one spot arguing with each other for what seemed like one commercial break all the way to another. And I couldn't help but think of that South Park episode where the boys were doing the WWE parody, when the kids just sat in the ring and read off their scripts. I'm not a fan of this "Hey, instead of showing the stuff happen we are just going to sit here and argue for half the episode" methods used to advance the plot.

Edit:

What do you think of when you see a 6' 3" black man? (besides "He's got a gun!") The Hunchback of Notre Dame. Idris Elba is apparently playing the Hunchback in a Netflix adaptation of the story.

I think it's funny that on Krypton that Doomsday looks better than in BvS. As far as I can tell though, that was the finale. Show was kind of weird, but that may be because I always find it weird when advanced space faring aliens also happen to live like medieval serfs.

I didn't see Idris as a viking warrior either, and that worked out okay so who knows.

Were they space faring at this time? Seems that there was a regression in their society from an anti-space, anti-science, anti-ET-Life standpoint. Didn't at one point they say it was heretical to believe in an alien life? Seems what ever religious movement that brought back the worship of Rao also pushed back on the whole space/alien science stuff.

Well, I mean they have the tech to at least watch space and all the stuff to make babies and clones and such. Completely in contrast to how everyone seems to be one sniffle away from dying of a flu plague.

The reviews I've read for Solo all more or less agree that it's a fun movie with lots of over the top action. As long as you can get passed the fact that the actors playing Han and Lando look and sound nothing like Harrison Ford and Billy Dee Williams, the move is supposed to be pretty good. If I get bored sometime this weekend I may go see it.

The dialog of Solo:

Kessel Run?
Kessel Run.
Kessel Run!
Kessel Run, Kessel Run, Kessel Run.

Fin (previous spoiler is just a joke, next spoiler is more serious, about that joke).

I am assuming this explains the whole "Parsecs are a measure of Distance" issue with Solo's Kessel Run claim. If I'm understanding right, the Kessel Run was always a set distance due to the path thru the cloud they had to follow. He cuts thru the cloud and therefore completes it in a shorter distance. (Rounded down, of course)

It was ok. Nothing about it all that amazing. Decent acting all around. Not that many "LOL" moments personally. Rogue One was a better side story. Solo, I think you could skip it in the theaters and not miss out on anything. Watch it sometime later on your favorite TV or Streaming Service.

I didn't pay attention to much leading into it, so Emilia Clarke surprised me. I didn't realize she'd be in it (no boobs though). Also Warwick Davis shows up.

Unlike Rogue One, it seems Solo has left a 'new' character alive. It's been a long time since I've watched Episode 1, but I don't recall Emilia Clarke's character, and it seems she's something to Maul.

I got bored enough.

Pretty much agree with Tirith. It's decent enough, but nothing special. It's mostly a heist movie, but nothing about it is terribly surprising. If you pay attention you can see all the deaths and betrayals coming a mile away. I did appreciate one bit at the end where Han most definitely shot first.

I think that if it were just a sci-fi action movie without the ties to Star Wars, it probably wouldn't do very well. It has some excellent special effects and some solid action, but it really is almost generic in a lot ways. Still, if you're in the mood to see a movie and haven't seen Deadpool 2 yet, it's not a terrible way to spend an afternoon.

My DVR box says Lucifer is new tonight. Two episodes. Judging by descriptions, seems if true it must be a couple extra episodes they had left and are just airing them out of sequence... Will find out shortly.

Edit:
They were new, but apparently future filler episodes that never had a chance to air. And fit in oddly with the (I believe, poorly rewritten) ending of the finale. So who knows, they both exist in separate vacuums outside of the series it seems.

Spoilers: Asian House-Intern plays a Ghost, revealed to be Azrael. And Niel Gaiman narrates the second episode as God narrating his choices in a world where he changes an event and watches how the events of the series play out. I think it may actually have been a better "ending" than the real finale. Mostly because of how bad the finale was.

Got around to seeing it. It was ... okay? I mean, it was a solid movie. The jokes landed, the pacing was consistent; For all intense porpoises it was a good movie, but it just didn't feel like it was as good as the first movie. I'm guessing it was pretty much because the first movie set the ultra violent and juvenile humor pace and there wasn't much a sequel could do to go beyond it. The sequel wasn't even worse than the first, but it wasn't better either. I think my biggest problem was that absolutely nothing was really surprising. The minute Vanessa started talking about starting a family you knew she was doomed. The second Weasel started talking about the wind it was kind of easy to tell the skydivers were doomed, though seeing Brad Pitt get electrocuted was funny. Actually, all the cameos were pretty funny.

Did enjoy what they did with X-Force, though. And I thought Domino was really well done, though she loses points due to the character design. They could have painted her shoe polish black with the white spot over the eye. No one was offended by Zoe Saldana being painted green. Also I just couldn't enjoy Colossus fighting Juggernaut dirty. The whole joke with him was how he was a boy scout.

"Hi Yukio!" "Hi Wade!" was a cute running gag. I hope Shioli Kutsuna shows up more.

I'm glad I saw it, but I'm also pretty glad I didn't run out to see it opening night.

As far as Lucifer is concerned, I'm now even more ticked it got canned since I liked Charlyne Yi on House, and she brought some of that to Lucifer and that would have been a great quirk and character development for Aimee Garcia's character to have, who was already great.

I remembered her from House, but currently every time I heard her talk I could only think of the little Asian girl from the Bear show on Cartoon Network.

This Saturday is the start of the next season of FLCL. Seems they did get The Pillows to do the soundtrack. And the song they are playing during the trailer sounds pretty good. I'm hoping it's something short like the first season (half a dozen episodes) and filled with a bunch of new songs from The Pillows. Because apart from the general weirdness of the show, which by itself would have been forgettable, the sound track was what made it memorable.
