Here's my official report from the event at the Igames Expo 2004 presented by Square-Enix.

The competetion was overseen by a PR person from square enix and none other than Mr. Yasu Kurosawa the FFXI U.S. Producer.

We did have a chance to Q&A with Mr. Kurosawa in which he did confirm that there will be five new summons in C.O.P and that we will fight bahamut as an NPC. There were many other questions asked about the game, but i will post that on my site =p.

The competition is what they call a "Newbie run" I have provided a link with the official rules that were given to us in order to participate in this event.

we were also given an image of our goal which was the outpost in the sanctuary of zi'tah.

We were given a worldpass to the server kujata. Ppl in the server were also recommended to cheer us on which was pretty cool.

I gotta say that taking part in this competion was an incredible experience. The skill involved in having to travel that distance with a level one character is incredible. Of course you need to have lady luck on your shoulder as well.

The competitors in this competition were incredible also. Just goes to show how great of a place NYC and its people are. People were wishing eachother luck as they stepped into the sanctuary of zi'tah and race into what seemed as certain death. Congratulations and applause were given out to the competitors who finished 1st and 2cd and both collected the same prize package which included a limited edition choco model with an elvaan riding it.

I know the big question is did i bring it home for odin?...and the answer is...YES I DID! ^^. The top two spots went as follows:

1st - Ramsey Server-Asura
2cd - DARKVIRUS Server-Odin

We both took home a prize package which included the chocobo statues and the C.O.P Expansion pack. Mr. Kurosawa was also nice enough to sign our C.O.P boxes ^^ as well as some posters.

These are some links to other pictures and the prize pack i received.
