After reading about the idea on =10, I've determined that I want to try doing this tomorrow.
As soon as I'm actually able to get online and complete {limit}6, I want to try assembling an alliance of 18 people, or at least as many as I can find. Its sole purpose will be to all kill a Lesser Colibri together and ding 76 at the same time for some epic screenshot material, and to celebrate finally breaking the 75 cap after what, six, seven years or so?
It's simple stuff. All you really need is at least one job with a 43999 buffer into 75 that you aren't in a OMG BIG RUSH TO GET TO 80 RIGHT AWAY. (If you've already hit 76+ on some other job, that's fine; you're still welcome to join if you have some other 75 w/ 43999xp.) Surely some people other than me are diligent enough to keep a full buffer, right? Especially since all of you should have known about the cap raise?
If the limit break quest ends up being something that is more worthwhile to do in groups, then we can do that together as well. If it's something stupid simple to solo though, I'll expect everyone to have done that on their own.
So yeah. Any takers? You might hear me shouting around in Whitegate tomorrow...

The actual ding process shouldn't take long at all, since everyone needs to be 43999 EXP already, so once the whole group was assembled, it would take however long it takes 18 75s to kill one lesserbri. I would hope not too long...
The iffy part will be actually getting the group formed, and managing to get people with enough patience to actually wait for it to be formed. >_>

Ooh, I was confused! I was thinking of it going from 75 to 77 or something. ^^;;;;
I'll be home at around 8:30 PM PST, and maybe logged in by 9 PM PST. I'm supposed to have dynamis at that time, but if it's just 1 mob away from ding, then it shouldn't take too long, right?

The update hopefully won't take long, but we don't know yet exactly what we'll have to do for {limit}6.

I would love to join in on this, but I'm not sure if I will have time before I have to work tonight. Good news is that G6 is easy, bad news is that it appears to require 3 merits (and 5 kindred seals), which I don't remember if I have or not (haven't worked on merits in a while ... )

You need to be 75 to start earning merits. So ya.
Back on topic, if I can get merits fast enough, I'd love to ding 76 on my capped pld.

On any normal day this would be true. However camps are going to be crazy crowded.
Sorry fyn, I'd love to tag along but my rdm is only about 8k into rdm so I'd have to get a great xp/merit party tonight but RL > game so maybe some other time ^.^ great idea though good luck getting it done

I'd be willing to plan this out for tomorrow if we can find a bunch of people that are patient enough (or just need some time to get the merits), but right now maintenance looks like it's gonna run into when I have work.
I'm still online for quite a while more (it is only noon here), but yeah, depending on the schedules of my friends and how long I remain stuck at 0% downloaded, I may need to postpone this.

Finally got my patch to finish downloading, and now the servers are gonna be down for at least another hour. -.-
And I just spent the three merits I'd been sitting on for over a week, a few days ago. So I REALLY REALLY hope that G6 won't be "3 merits and 5 KS."
As a side note, I wonder what plugins for Windower will be broken by THIS update?! >_> My money's on Recast, because it's one of my favorites, so it's always broken by updates. >_>;

Gonna try to give this an actual shot tomorrow. Too many people (such as myself) managed to get in too late tonight for me to really feel like trying to pull this off.
