Let's see... I live 90min from Port Huron. Up by Saginaw Bay. I don't make it that direction very often, but I have wanted to hit the casinos lately.

My parents are Civil War re-enactors so we start drinking around camp fires when we are 12yrs old. This means my son will not be camping out with their group anymore. >.<

We call the crane flies "mosquito eaters" and the non-spider a "daddy longlegs." I am too squeamish to pull the legs off and watch them move around. The bugs around my house are giant, mutated, glow-in-the-dark freaks. I live 4 miles from Dow Chemical, so that is to be expected. When I have what I have lovingly dubbed a "DowSpider" in my bedroom, I sometimes leave them a complimentary fruit and cheese plate, but usually I usually just vacate the premises and hope for the best.

Congratulations if it is. Very scary, but pretty cool at the same time.

My linkshell mates had always made me think that the US attitude to drinking was much more responsible than UK attitude, but maybe its just the same.

Congrats Mageo! Good luck man. Kids are hell, but its the fun kind of hell.

Having a pretty good week so far myself. I got a new 2nd job yesterday, I start today (at Pizza Hut. No, its not glorious, but I need to knock out a hefty credit card bill... Not that hefty, but hefty enough), my Aunt called me to tell me she's sending me a check for $500 from my Great Aunt's estate, and I had wicked steak fajitas last night, and today at work (I work at a trucking company, no I don't drive truck) they asked me to represent the operations department at an accident review (Basically, we review all the evidence from an accident to see if it was the driver's fault or not). Moving on up, to the east side, to that deluxe apartment in the sky.

This is of course making the assumption that it's a male child. I'm not trying to **** on your life, but you should also be ready for: first period, talking, more talking, and in 15 years first strawberry daiquiri with dad.

As to the drinking question, the first time I drank more than a sip of whatever my parents happened to have was Cinco de Mayo when I was 17. I had 2 and a half Coronas and I was bombed. Sort of embarrassing for me now but we all probably have humble beginnings. I used to think that beer tasted too much like grass, but now I worship on the altar of beer. Soracloud's sig also changed my drinking life when it introduced me to Arrogant ******* Ale. I'd like to think that Allakhazam helped me evolve as a drinker.

G'morning!

I'm hung over. Smiley: frown

And /wave to all you Canadians. I live in North Dakota about an hour away from the border. Just last week I went to Winnipeg to visit a friend: only a 2.5 hour drive not including any border time.

This last trip didn't go so well. At the border, they had me pull to the side for more questioning. I knew I was fucked, as I have 2 DUIs from when I was younger and more stupid (even a single DUI will make it damned near impossible to get into Canada if they check your record). I went into the immigration office, at which point they asked me the same 50 questions they had already asked me outside. Then he asked about my past criminal record. I told him about the DUIs. He ran a record check, and surprisingly, he came back and didn't say a word about the DUIs. I did however have to pay $200 for some bad checks I wrote nearly 12 years ago.

So, I thought I was ready to be on my way after paying the $200 to be 'rehabilitated' for my past heinous crimes. Nope. Then they start tearing through my car (my baby!). They find my laptop and have to take it inside to search for child ****. Smiley: glare No joke. But here's the best part: they find my security token in the bag, and start asking question after question about it! I had to explain that I play an online game where security is an issue because of people who steal accounts to sell fake money. It was a bit embarrassing. Smiley: laugh

The next day when I returned to the States, all was going well until they asked me the last time I had been through that checkpoint. I told them it had been about 4 months, when it had actually been 6. That was enough of an excuse to put me through the whole thing again. Smiley: laugh
The Americans didn't search my laptop for child ****, though.

Wow, thats pretty intense border control..

Over in europe you can drive from one country into another and barely realise it.

The most we ever got 'searched' was when randomly selected cars would be stopped at the ferry port and checked for drugs I guess. Was pretty exciting as a kid.

Well blah blah blah 9/11 blah blah blah terrorist blah blah blah get ready to get waterboarded *****.

I hate this whole anti-terrorism BS. I have to get a background check done so I can work at Pizza Hut, ******* PIZZA HUT! What happened to the America where you could leave your back door unlocked, your keys in your car, your virgin daughters alone in bed at night.

P.S. If terrorists worked at Pizza Hut, they'd probably smoke weed. If they smoked weed, they'd chill out a bit. If they were more chilled, perhaps they wouldn't want to suicide bomb **** all the time.

The thought of first daiquiri with my daughter entices me. I love daiquiri's, my straightness be damned!

I have had a lot of panicky day dreams of what would happen if her first period happened under my watch. There was much crying and sobbing involved, but eventually I would man up... and give her 20 bucks to go to the store to buy that **** herself.

I had to get a background check to work at Subway, too. My record's clean, but it seemed pretty unnecessary.

It's my opinion that fishing up Moat Carp is a complete waste of time. You're on the right track: just buy it. You'll make your money back in half the time it would have taken you to catch the carp.

I'm a Bulldog fan, which is pretty much a White Russian with Coke in it.

Canadian translation, eh: Yah, da Bulldog is da same as a Paralyzer, eh.

I find it hilarious that Chew is mocking the Canadians when he occasionally adds "'ey" or "hey" at the end of his sentences on vent.

It must be from the close proximity to the C-eh-n-eh-di-eh-n border.

Of course you got detained, Chewzer. The nation knows what trouble all 3 of you from North Dakota can be. Yeah, in Michigan we have the Militia, but they don't care about Canada.

When you pee on a stick, you can get false negatives, but false positives don't really happen. That is what they told me anyhow and both of my positive pee stick results are currently living in my home so I have no reason to doubt that information. My first legal drinks with my dad were tequila shots and beer so there is hope.

The village I grew up in (where my kids are growing up) is low on entertainment for bored farm kids, so underage drinking was rampant. I actually never drank with anyone from my high school since I had a never ending supply of adults to drink with so strangely enough I stayed out of trouble.

Mmmn. Guess I have something new to try! This is delicious.

Edit: New-ish. As most of what I like is either white blends or strictly Riesling. I'm new to wine.
