Mind if I ask the names of your linkshell's leader and SHs? I'd like to ask them personally what they're thinking.

It's apparent to me that Valdan was in all rights to lot the hat. The shell doesn't have a point system, or any sort of rules about people who go MIA for extended periods. True, it should have gone to someone more deserving, but the shell has no guidelines in place to support that mindset.

Hopefully they learn their lesson and will put some rules in place to prevent this sort of thing again.

I remember when you said this before, back in May when you mentioned that he joined your Dynamis shell.

And the same exact question is running through my head now as it did back then: "If the leaders know of his reputation, what the hell is he doing in the shell?" No offense to either of you Sus or Aylah, but I don't think your leaders use a lot of common sense.

I just got a tell from Alyc who said Rycho attempted to ninja lot a BLM hat from Dynamis today. Luckily his ninja lot lost. So if that's true, there's your definite answer on Rycho. They said it's screenshotted on their Dynamis's shells site, I don't know if anyone is going to post it to where everyone can see. But, looks like Rycho is on his way to be a Valdan jr.

Speaking of Valdan, Alfonso just told me he was asked by Valdan if he could join our Salvage group. Luckily, he was just laughed at.

Deathbeckons is now shouting how he hates MNKs in merit parties and he'd never invite one. As far as I can tell this came completly unprovoked, he just wanted everyone to know. I told him to STFU. I'm sure he'll post a text copy any minute.
#381 Aug 30 2009 at 6:41 PM Rating: Excellent
Rycho didnt really try too ninja lot the blm relic item he changed his main and sub lot around after the blm relic dropped this was so he could lot on the blm item thinking there would be no problems.

the problem is tho that the shell caught on to his plan and took screenshot of before and after where his search comment was originally seen being thief main and blm sub lot too blm main thief sub after the relic item dropped. The screenshot just provided evidence as he constantly denied changing his lots to suit himself even tho its against our dynamis rules to change lots once dynamis has started.

but it does prove that he is untrustworthy and makes the whole im sorry for lotting askar dir a bit more hard to swallow.

Also Deathbekons what is exactly wrong with monks in merit parties?

They don't do piercing damage!

I'm kidding. :p

Yeah, I was capping xp on DRG earlier with 2 DRG/Mage, 1 WAR and 3 MNK on birds and we had no problems passing the chain 100 mark. Silly, MNKs must have just been leeching xp. If you don't see huge WS damage, ignore how often they hit and for how hard, because we all know only WS damages count, right?

Well if you don't want to call that ninja lotting, it is just as bad. Welcome to the "lol" list Rycho, I won't be doing business with you in the future. Thanks for making me looks gullible, by attempting to give you the benefit of the doubt.

Me too, and I think it's sad when my MNK out parses SAM's in bird merit parties all the time :(

This is premeditated ninja lotting. He didn't just decide to do it when the relic dropped. And kudos to the Dynamis LS leadership for tracking everyones seacoms for main/sub lots.

I wouldn't know, I would never invite a Tarutaru melee to a merit party. Now excuse me while I go shout that in Whitegate....

#392Deathbeckons, Posted: Aug 31 2009 at 8:21 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) very simple. mnk is one of those jobs you find a ton of people playing, but 80% or more of them are gimp as ****. unlike say... drg or sam, you cant be gimp as **** as a mnk and still rape the **** out of birds. very simple logic. im not willing to risk inviting a pickup mnk to a merit party for that reason. same reason i wouldnt have joined the mnk who was shouting for a brd or cor for merit.

I'd have to disagree on the SAM point. I have seen some REALLY sh*tty Shinsoku-Domaruuuu SAMs spamming 300-400 damage Gekkos in bird parties that I'd gladly trade for a sub-par MNK. Though I do agree and see your point, MNK's one of the worst performing DD jobs when gimped. The only thing that pisses me off is how I never got invites because of the reputation that sh*tty MNKs made for us. Only when leaders started to get to know my MNK was when I didn't have to wait weeks for an invite :(

If you're going to compare naked jobs side by side, of course MNK is going to be the absolute best DD cause of Hand-to-Hand. But if both similarly geared with an average gear set for their job vs. anything VT and up, a SAM will most likely come out on top because of Y/G/K boosts, 2hander boost, and Hasso.

Youss! Where have you been? I was thinking you had quit FFXI.

Deathbeckons wrote:

Whatever death, if that's how you feel, don't join. You don't have to start sh*t by shouting, "I'd never invite a MNK to a merit party and I sure as hell wouldn't join one led by a MNK". Next time you feel like shouting about something that has nothing to do with you, just keep your mouth shut, because 9 time out of 10 you don't know what you're talking about and it bites you in the ***.

Cheap shot, but I was reading a BG thread dedicated to stupid FFXI names and this caught my eye:

Quote:
Uses in prefix or suffix the following: Pimp, dark (death), evil, etc.

Deathbeckons, Deathseeker, Pimparu

Even more annoying prefixes are 'Dj' or 'Xx'.

I had to google the plural of 'prefix'... apparently there's quite the debate about it; even some online dictionaries don't agree. I need a Grammar ****! /summon Samhain

Yeah, I'll go with you to do that. I joined a salvage group and we do a run on Monday, so it'd have to be early or a different day. Speaking of that, I was meaning to ask if you might be interested in joining us for salvage. I'll talk to you in-game.
