Sup everybody. I played FFXI from the US PC release till shortly after the first expansion came out. I recnetly bought FFXI for my 360 and was assigned to Lakshmi.
I was only able to play for a short while last night, and there didn't seem to be too many people on. I'd really like to get back into it, but I don't want to invest time into developing a character that I won't be able to progress with due to low server population.
Anyway, I'm on central time and I'll be on as soon as the Xbox Live maintenance finishes. I thought about reinstalling the PC software, but those updates would take forever and I don't have the latest expansion disk.
My charcater name is Jaeden.
My POL and Xbox Live name is Zynj.

i am also a 360 player this is my first time with ff. but i can tell you that there is a huge WHM shortage at the molment.

lol there's always a white mage shortage, which causes a shortage of pick up groups.
Anyway, by the slowness of this forum something tells me I should look into transfering into a more heavily populated server.

If you judging based off the people around teh starting cities, your counts gonna be abit off, gauranteed there are more than enough people. Alot of people are frolicking around the new expansion city, seems to have ebcome a pretty popular place.
As for starting cities, for some reason I usually find Bastok to be the least busy.

Bastok is least busy because it's ugly and poopy.
Just go into your menu and goto the search tab > area > all areas. That will give you a count of how many people are online at any given moment. Counting right now at 8:30 Eastern Standard Time there's 2895 people online. It just seems sparse in beginning cities sometimes which can be also be a little relieving from jeuno.

I've never noticed a low population before. My guess is that you may have been on during a slow time of the day, or that everyone was just hanging out in ToAU areas, as previously suggested. Don't worry, you were asigned to a great server.
We like everything to be calm, now dont disturb the peace too much.
