m sorry about my blatant honesty, but it had to be said. it used to be that this site was the place to be, now the older members hardly post due to this sort of crap. its a pity.

No, it didn't have to be said. You took cheap shots at Tonka and myself, because we try to have a good time on these forums to deflect the constant drama. What about that -had- to be said?

And what the hell is this, a secret clubhouse that the cool kids don't go to anymore? If you don't like what we have to say, leave, its really that simple. Trust me, there are far too many positive people to make the loss of one negative idiot noticable.

HEY!!! WTH? Only I'm allowed to make senseless cracks about Neejee on these boards. :D Leave him alone

Lol

EDIT: w00t! Page ding! (one more useless point to this thread, sorry! :D)

use the internet as a way of escaping all the normal stuff within the day so last time i checked we could do what the hell we wanted

Correct me if I am wrong, but ... isn't this exactly why many seemingly decent people turn into complete waste of human flesh and bones once they turn on their computer and go online?

~~ At work this man is just the average guy, but when he comes home and turns on his computer ladies and gentlemen, he becomes...

THE INTERNET WARRIORRRR!!! ~~

I really wonder what possesses people to act like that. I think that if a person has to drastically change his or her personality in order to escape real life then he or she is really not happy in r/t.

I understand that acting like a total prick on the web is way easier than doing the same thing at work or in a bar though. When you steal somebody's jacket in real life you may have to face the legal consequences. And when you tell the guy behind the bar his beer sucks because he is a nOOb at pouring in drinks, you may get your lights punched out. But think about it ...

..instead of going to bed with this smirk on your face thinking you outwitted someone with this quote you found while googling for snappy answers, wouldn't it make you feel way much better if you actually see your real life improve slow but steadily? You know, that you will become less afraid of telling people what you really think of them?

And on the issue of having fun: having fun and being a total *sshole doesn't rule each other out of course.

Btw, I am only posting this because I don't like the idea of people thinking the quote on top is a justification for asshattery. That would be very wrong.

Anybody else think that "circle-jerking" is the funniest concept posted in 2006?

actually the concept of circle-jerking is pretty old (though still pretty damn funny)

What about what Tonka and I do is worthy of causing us to be called total ********? We have fun, we don't hurt anyone in the process. If you want to talk about ********, Counterpoint and his minions(sp?) were completely rude to us, simply because they don't like the idea of happyness on a forum.

I never mentioned any names Neejee :) It wasn't my intention to pick a side or to flame anyone in particular. It was only this single quote I think a whole bunch of people live by that made me post a contribution to this thread.

And yes, I do think people should lighten up and don't take everything too seriously because people who do take things too seriously are capable of destroying lots of fun. I was actually referring to people who just have the urge to completely burn somebody down to the ground for no other reason than a couple of chuckles.

I remember this thread on the thf forum once. It was around december last year when people were cashing in their holiday gil gift certificate they got from mom/dad/grandma/grandpa and the price of a scorpion harness was skyrocketing. Now this guy on the forum had to nerve to ask the following question:

"Is a SH worth the trouble? Is it essential for a thf to have one?"

Yay! Now the thf community is quite packed with elitists ("OMG, didn't you break the 1k barrier with SATA-DE on tragopans yet? You nOOb!") so a couple of them had to put on their spandex Internet Warrior outfit and blast him to smithereens. He should leave the game with that attitude of his, he gave thieves a bad name, if he was in this other person's party he would be kicked etc. etc.

Get my point? One valid question, mucho namecalling. Really, it's not funnt, it's not clever -- it's stupid.

I call it behaviour you can only expect from kids or people who do have some serious issues. Maybe people who had to hand over their lunchmoney for years at school, or people who want to go postal at work but are too afraid people will hurt them back, or people who just realized they will never be able to achieve the things they want in real life, so they just take their crummy attitude to the internet for some mental relief.

It is that same crummy attitude that keeps me from posting my ingame name. It's because of people who like to ruin anyone who tries to do anything because they can't stand the idea of someone having fun while playing a game. These people are perfectly capable to start rumors about anyone they dislike, harrass them with posts sent from a mule or start /shout fights in Lower Jeuno. I like to avoid that.

And yeah, some people like to claim that this is cowardly behaviour, well...why don't they show some elephant balls and go all the way by posting their r/t name, address and phonenumber? What is stopping them?

The first letter in a proper sentence is capitalized and the use of punctuation is important as well.

Who I am in game is of no matter. I prefer to remain anonymous, having no agenda other than my own opinion. Some people use these forums to glorify themselves, whereas I want to actually discuss the game and ways to have more fun in it.

If you don't care for my opinions, don't read my posts, I don't care for your tired "look at me, I am so wonderfull, I will be soooo glad to help you because I am a superior player" posts (which are always posted in the n00b speak) , so I will not read them, but I in no way suggest you don't make them. It is up to you to make as big a fool of yourself as you wish, I am allowed however to make comment and laugh about it as I please.

I love it when self-righteous trolls try to sound smart when they post, but all I see is an akward 15 year old with low self-esteem and some major sociopathic tendancies.
