Here's a question:
Was there any indication or in game that random NPC was the person to talk to to start the quest?
I was trying a new experiment last night. I wanted to see if I could do all of ToAU without first looking at a guide, you know, figure it out for myself. So i filtered all shouts and says and headed out Mhaura cause I had heard something about it before. So I get to mhaura and start spamming every NPC to try and get some info, i got nothing much at all. So I noticed the throng of people on the loading platform so I when the boat comes and of course i get kicked off for not having a boarding pass.
Boarding pass? Who the hell mentioned anything about a boardingpass. I looked around for a bit, decided to get a little hint and turn off shout filters enough to know that there was an NPC to talk to in tenshodo that would start it off. Ok a little cheating so what. SO i runover there, i try to find the NPC the most number of PCs are swarmed around and click him, get a brief cutscene, do the 2 response with little to no luck.
I log off for the night frustrated. I ended up looking online and come to find out there was a secret invisible 3rd answer to choose (I guess i haven't tried).
Now does anyone else think that's a little ridiculous? I may not be the most thourgh person but holy cow, the first ToAU mission description could, you know, push you in the right general direction. But to give it to a seemingly random NPC and make the choice invisible, is a little much. I kinda wish there was a way to play this game that didn't require having a printed out guide outlining step-by-step how you had to do everything.
