Lakshmi Ballista!Follow

Well even though we didn't get the top, we had to play the top team (Siren) first round and we put up a good fight :P

And I need to do some more ballista, I haven't played in ages ><;

Strategy wise, it's all about playing your role. I've seen some really great ideas come out of Lakshmi, and from what I've heard from other servers, Ballista's even gone to the point where it's been CANCELLED because of lack of participation.

Shocking.

From what I've seen thus far, the people that really stand out in the Ballistas I've been in (nothing uncapped) have seen some really talented Ballista-ers.

I saw a mithra named Splif play a non-idiot non-bloodlust WAR and just absolutely dominate in Meriphtaud Mountains today. She (he?) didn't die the whole hour I believe. It was even funnier to see her play WAR to the full extent. Rampages flew everywhere, and she got like 2-3 kills sniping runners with that lone sleep bolt she pops.

I also saw her play THF/NIN in 30 cap and wreak havoc on the broken BLMs. A BLM start casting Firaga, and suddenly she'd come sprinting from halfway across the map, Fast Blade him to the ground, and get out before anybody noticed. I saw her get caught by a full HP/MP BLM at one point, Binded and Sleeped and ready to get Firaga'd, and as I ran up to help, she ate the firaga and had the BLM on the ground as I arrived.

A JP named Walker absolutely destroys in 40 cap as a NIN/RDM or /BLM, I forget. Of course, what NIN doesn't destroy in 40 cap. He won't let anybody score points, I swear. I'm afraid to even touch the rook because then I'll see my shadows blank out, and suddenly I'll be spammed by a 6-wheel ninjutsu spam. He also plays a DRK/NIN in Ballista, and I just run from him. Nobody likes Galka. Especially ones that Ramapge you from nowhere.

Lon plays a decent RDM from what I've seen, but a freakishly strong SAM/RNG in 60 cap. Sometimes he's got that staff, sometimes it's his GK. Either way, I'm not sure whether to stay close to him or run away, because running away results in a 500+ Sidewinder to the back. Every time. I swear.
(I believe he was on the top Lakshmi team, so that may explain alot)

There's also a Bard, Arcaniz. Sleepga and the such, but what Bard can really go wrong with Ballista?

Regress, plays RNG in 60cap, 30cap and 40cap plays his job to a T. Always see holy bolts getting fired at people in the back, dual daggers strips shadows like no other, shadowbinds really instinctively. It's even funnier to see him Barrage and nail that guy that thinks he's taking a single shot.

Seen a couple other DRKs and RNGs mostly. There's a couple PLD/NINs that play well, Oumi and Rock, most noticabley.

Good turnouts though for today, glad to see people still enjoy ballista =)

Dude, Jakal goes invis, rushes in and uses an -ga spell, then gets raped by 10+ players, who then score. At least he did for a whole match one time lol

By the way I dont care much for karma, but why the hell would the OP get rated down for making a good thread? This place is going crazy..

Some sneaky ******* from Siren that's jealous of our Ballista-ing population.

I don't mind rate-downs or rate-ups, doesn't really bother me, so let's continue.

More WHMs need to come out to Ballista and not play stupid. Has anyone ever seen Rene? WHM/SAM thinks he can tank DRKs and MNKs, I swear.
Kimchi, on the other hand, plays an excellent WHM. None of that melee invincible WHM thinking, she can double as an excellent DD with Banishgas, strips shadows fast, and had one benediction catch everyone in the party when almost all of them were red.

Without using my 2 hour, not a double attack, used Souleater and Last resort >.>

I played with this guy yesterday.. wow, terrible. He would run into the fight and start meleeing people and everyone would just switch target to him and kill him fast. One time he had BST + pet (me), WAR, and NIN on him and he was going down fast, then he starts casting Blink, wtf? I don't think he got owned enough because he started shouting for 1v1s. Well the JP RDM took up his offer and kicked his *** without taking any damage at all.

last few ballista's I've been in I've gotten owned teams got really unbalance with no one working together soon as I'd pop up I'd be killed by 4 or 5 folks from the other team gets frustrating after awhile I love doing ballista but after being hunted down by the same 4 folks 8 or more times in a row while while watching members of your team be on the other side of the map hiding ain't fun I'll keep coming back though think I may try different job combo's to
