I just did this fight about a week ago with a pickup group that lost their BLM. All I can say, is to completely unload on Omega at about 40%. Most tanks can't handle doing their job while running out of range of Pile-Pitch(which is understandable), so then they drop to 10% HP, mages start spamming cures, and everyone wips. You really can't afford to wipe in this battle more than once, so save your wipe opportunity for Ultima. SMNs are great for this reason, because they can really dish out damage for Omega. Just remember to save a lot of resources for Ultima as well.

Also worth noting, make sure the WHM stays hasted during Ultima, because if your NIN casts Utsusemi while they have Chemical Bomb's effects on them, they have no chance to survive. Make Erase's recast as low as possible.

i need... after 2 statics having left me behind for stupid reasons, and my current static seems to have fallen off the edge since nobody from there even says anything too me (think leader is still trying to get his thf friend through snoll fight LOL gl with that XD almost had it when i tried to help, but said thf didnt bother to salt the snoll when it was his turn so we all died, go figure) anyway i have pld 74 (which id really rather not use for U/O since i hear it really sucks for it and 2 tanks will leave you high and dry since you wont have enough damage output) and bst 66, which id be a pretty damn capable DD for 60 cap stuff (/nin quite a few axes to choose from, haubergeon, etc etc etc) anyway you can send me a tell in game. i also already have my CCB Polymer

My static had to do this fight 2 times because just right before the final blow to Ultima 1 of our fallen members accidently HPed back to Jeuno :(

Our setup: NIN, SAM, DRG/SAM, WHM, BLM, BLM

We managed to pwn this fight the 2nd time around when repeating it for our member that accidently HPed out. We used 6 CBBs, 3 on Omega and 3 on Ultima.
Identical CBB tosses to both O/U @ 45%, 35%, 20% health >>> AM x2 + spam WS >>> BLM RR >>>> AM x2 again.

Just remember that you really only have time to wipe once, maybe twice if your damage is really uber, but you'll be cutting very very close and to spend 250k~300k on each wasted CBB gets really expensive.

So if you wipe or even die on mammets you might as well just start over or go to O/U just for the experience, but don't waste CBBs.

Hope that helps and GL!

I know this isn't really a static request post, but I'm going to write this message in all of the ones I can see(which is about four, right on the main Lakshmimimi list).

Statics - Are - A - Waste - Of - Time.

I failed at making about, what, four statics? Eventually I just gave up, and got into pickup parties for each mission. And ya' know what? I finished before anyone I ever tried to static with. I'm cheerfully about to fight Promathia in a day or two, and all those people who bailed in my statics haven't even gotten to Ultima/Omega. One person even went as far as to put in his search commment, something along the lines of "Bad leadership is a sad thing, even sadder is that people follow".

Hey Remeo, guess what? I'm farming organs for my gorgets/obis, and you won't see Al'Tieu for another month.

Just make pickup parties with a group of people. Hell, you don't even have to know them. Just find five people who are as dedicated to finishing this crap as you are, and you're golden.

Best of luck!

That's kinda what a static is =/

But in any event, I'm running a static mostly comprised of my social LS. It originally started with 18 people. (Yeah, I now realize I was in way over my head.)

I already know not all 18 are going to make it all the way through; in fact, we're down to about a core 12 members, and we've only just finished the Promyvions after starting at the start of 2006 (we only meet once a week). But none of us are in any real rush, most of us don't really have anything to get out of {sea}, this is just something that I thought would help bring the LS together, and help us get our money's worth for the poor unfortunate souls that went to go buy CoP but hadn't really gotten anything out of it prior to this.

Statics are tough to form and keep together, yes, but they're not always a waste of time. This depends on the friends you have and how compatible/stable your schedules are. But for me, if it was me and 5 random shmucks trying to get through CoP, I couldn't care less if we succeeded or failed. Why should I care about zones or ENMs my friends can't enter? However, the people that are with me are friends, and as a result I am determined to get us to succeed no matter how long it takes. For me it's more about the journey than the end result.

My static finished CoP 4-2 ~ End of CoP in 2 weeks and we didn't even meet everyday because members had Dynamis and other LS events.

I think statics are great! <3

You may have just gotten stuck with some really unreliable people and/or noobs.

Try finding people you know ~.^

Yeah, you guys are probably right, but you also have to admit you have to get pretty lucky to end up with a good static. I just found it much easier, and faster to find pick-ups.

But hell, it worked for me, maybe statics are right for you. All I know is that I have Al'Tieu, and I'm just dandy! ^_^
