Weekends Optical Hat RunFollow

#1 Mar 11 2006 at 12:07 AM Rating: Default
Ok, so we all regrouped from the one that fell apart last week after some peoples power went out and went after that sneaky Hakutaku blob again. (Of which I wasnt a part of, but had read about it here.) We had a full alliance and got to work. I just want to say that everyone worked together so well. We were sucessful on our first 8 runs. Everyone stuck around and did very well. We did fantastically well for only having 1 WHM, 1 main NIN, and 1 BLM. No BRD either. Sad to say we wiped as an alliance on the last run, which I blame to darkness day. Wolfmanx, I understand how pissed you had to be but we all said we would help you farm more eyes. You took off before any of us could tell you that. I know it still stands.

After the wipe, everyone decided they were gettin pretty tired and were about to lose Nitant and our tank, Gatsuu. Sorry for not getting the names of the first 3 who got their hats, I believe they were part of last weeks incident that ended at 5.

We still have to get 6 more hats and this is the order in which they are to pop.

1. Darkskull
2. Guaishou
3. Elbyran
4. Chinmei
5. Maveric

We are planning on gathering tomorrow at 6pm EST to get these last hats for these fine folks who waited patiently and through luck of the draw were positioned at the end of the line. I believe if you are interested in making a run and helping out, it will be welcomed. Send me a /tell ingame tomorrow or post here, not sure how many need this but cant see any reason why it cant continue.

Again, Id like to say thanks to Gatsuu for being gracious enough to die so many times and take a few R1s for us, he wasnt even there for his own hat, he already had it. And thank you to those whose names I didnt write down who had theirs and were there to just lend a hand a make a million on vile elixers+1. About 5 dropped I think. And a Flare and assorted others.

I took a few pics and will post them when I get off FFXI later on. Some beauties I know for sure.

Congratulations to those 7 and myself XD who got your hats. You other 5, dont fret, well be there tomorrow.

Making Lakshmi better one day at a time.

Med

Edit: Got the pics hosted. Here you go!

1. First few fights, lookin good!

2. Check out Gatsuu back tankin.

3. Shouldn't there be a bright shiny pole around here?

4. Fire in the hole! Looks bleak for us.

5. No caption needed.

6. Yours truly lookin extra sharp!

Enjoy!

Yo congrats to you all, i got a few questions Med.
what level was Gatsuu to be able to solo this mob as the only Ninja? Also can you touch on the reverse tanking and how did it work for you guys.I'm getting real close to tanking this Mob myself. [10k from 70]
I prob gonna get as close to 71 as possible before I try this with my LS [mucho xp loss possible] So if anybody has any advice thats great, or needs me to help them out.I dont have my cluster finished yet but I wanna get my feet wet.Should be 70 ninja some time today.

Gatsuu was 75... and he did die a fair number of times. BRD would've made this so much easier, plus we only had 1 WHM and I was only BLM. We had a 68 NIN as a backup for when Gatsuu went down and he did a damn good job tanking. I wouldn't recommend you main tank, back-up sure.... I personally wouldn't want anyone to rely on my 70 NIN to tank it.

Ok, back tanking this guy had to do with some of his special attacks. I believe the main reason is its cone AoE paralyze effect. Theres also a Death Ray move that seemed to so through shadows, but then again, i had so many chat filters on, I dont really know. Theres probabaly tons of info on tanking him at his forum.

Hakutaku

Doesent seem like anything is going to happen run wise tonight. Then again people might start logging on and make it happen. This is a great place to get it started. I will be willing to help if Im not terribly busy.
