^^ No need to expound on that :)
So because I've never done something before means I must know nothing about it? What brilliant logic.
I suppose next time I'm partied with a PLD I should just not Refresh him and feign ignorance. Because, after all, how am I supposed to know that MP is important for them if I've never played the job?

Actually.. you don't.. because I said that nearsighted, parapolegic monkeys with their heads up their butts COULD beat them.
I demand proof.

I'm not gonna make fun of the people that you know because they haven't beaten them, I'm simply implying that they did not win because they were not prepared.
Yeah, because there's no such element as luck in these fights. (HINT: Relying on two Hermit Wands to avoid being interrupted is relying on luck. Likewise, when I try to solo the avatar primes, relying on their Astral Flow to not land fully unresisted and kill me in 1 shot is also relying on luck.)

That's not EVEN close to the same.
1. you have no choice. it's a solo 20 battle.. You could have a million level 75 friends who couldn't do a THING to help you outside of hitting u with Protect/shell (ONE) before entering the cloister. As far as doing it right with the right job and level. Again, you have NO choice! You can't use the tuning fork until ur level 20, and if you're over level 20, you're capped when you enter the cloister.
Uhh yeah, it's exactly the same. You're taking help from a higher leveled player into a battlefield that you're not supposed to have at your disposal. Doesn't matter if it's 1 person or 20, and it doesn't matter if you actually take the people into the battlefield or not; the fact is you still used high level help, and therefore, any sort of bragging you're trying to do is pointless. I can destroy the rank 2-3 dragon solo by putting up Protect/Stoneskin/Phalanx on myself (from my 75RDM) before going in, but what the hell does that prove to anyone? An actual 25RDM who goes into the fight would not get those benefits without outside help. And with outside help, it kinda diminishes the effect of your success.
I suppose you also think there's absolutely nothing bad that can come out of relying on a powerleveler to get EXP, right? Same sort of thing going on there.

2. You call ur friends that help you out ******** I call them good friends with big hearts who are willing to help out. And I'm fully of the position to buff YOU before you go in, and give you a pat on the back for the win, because tho my protect/shell HELPED, it didn't win you the fight.
Sugarcoat it however you like. The point is, you still essentially cheated by bringing in buffs you're not supposed to have at that level, into a SOLO fight. While there's nothing stopping you from winning the battle that way, there is no denying that it makes your accomplishment less impressive, especially in the eyes of those that may not have the high level Protect/Shell whores that you did.
Also, when you say that you "rocked" the fight with those buffs, but you also say that you're "going to have a REAL hard time" without the buffs, then yes, I'd say the buffs won you the fight. Am I wrong about that, or are you just being confusing on purpose? Because it sounds like you're saying you probably couldn't have won without these buffs.

1. Protect/shell 2 and up don't last long enough on a level 20 job to complete the fight
Their duration depends on your actual job level when the spells are casted on you. Protect 2, being a level 27 spell, will last approx. 20/27ths as long as it normally does (30 minutes) if it's cast on a level 20 person. So you're still getting nearly 22 minutes out of it. Protect 3 is level 47, so it would last 20/47ths as long (around 11-12 minutes?). Tier 4 might very well be too high, but I would think Protect 3 and Shell 2 would be just fine for even a LV20 to complete this fight, as long as they don't dilly dally after getting the spells.

I've seen plenty of people go into the cloister completely unprepared that got a helping hand with shell/protect (they also got all the bar crap u were talking about AND Haste and Regen, which ALL POSITIVELY fell off before they approached the avatar) who failed these fights because they were completely unprepared.
Haste and Regen are crap durations even on normally leveled players, no surprise there. Bar-element spells are crap too, but Bar-status lasts what has to be nearly 3-5 times longer. If paralyze is a potential problem, try throwing up Barparalyzra.
I am not debating that you need to have some sort of skill as well as a plan to win. However, your saying that it does seems to go against everything you said about crippled monkeys being able to win these fights.

As an aside- Why do they call the level 65 fights the "Prime" fights? When you fight them at level 20, their names are STILL "Shiva Prime" and "Ifrit Prime" etc.
For one thing, the high level fights were the first ones to be introduced to the game, the level 20 fights came afterward. By then, the high level fights were already established as the "prime" fights. It's like Lower Jeuno; there's tons of better places I'd like to hang out but most people stick around there simply because they're used to it and that's the way it's been for a while. I do the same thing with Diabolos, for his LV40 cap fight and the uncapped one to gain his summon. Even though they are both called "Diabolos", I still refer to the uncapped one as a prime.
Put simply, I'm too lazy to differentiate between the two most of the time. To me, the primes are the big daddies (that's what "prime" is supposed to mean, after all) and if you hear anyone mentioning them it should be obvious that most of the time, they're referring to the high level ones. The lesser ones might be called mini primes, or trial size primes, or whatever other clever nickname you can come up for them.
